This invention is directed toward novel human and murine Fas ligand-like proteins having an apoptosis-inducing activity. Cloned cDNAs encoding human, mouse, and rat Fas ligand-like proteins were obtained from human liver, mouse embryo, and rat liver cDNA libraries.
