Redundant transmitters send the same sequence numbers without matching the sequence numbers. The transmission system includes a PTP grand master, a first and second transmitters configured to synchronize a time with the PTP grand master according to PTP and receive video signals distributed from one video signal, and a receiver connected to the first and second transmitters over an IP-network, the first transmitter and the second transmitter respectively divide the video signals into a plurality of IP-packets, calculate an initial value for RTP sequence numbers based on PTP timestamps in accordance with the synchronized time according to PTP, set the RTP sequence numbers sequential from the initial value to a RTP sequence fields in the plurality of IP-packets respectively, and send the IP-packets to the receiver via a first and second transmission paths according to RTP.

Video transmission system

The video switching system includes a PTP grand master, a first and second transmitters configured to synchronize a time with the PTP grand master according to PTP, and a receiver connected to the first transmitter and the second transmitter over an IP-network. The first and second transmitter respectively receive video signals distributed from one video signal, divide the video signals into a plurality of IP-packets and set timestamps to the plurality of IP-packets, the timestamps based on the synchronized time according to PTP. The first transmitter sends the plurality of IP-packets set the timestamps as a first IP-packet stream via a first transmission path according to RTP. The second transmitter sends the plurality of IP-packets set the timestamps as a second IP-packet stream via a second transmission path according to RTP.

Video switching system

The present invention provides a transmitter including a first source network interface connected to a first transmission path of a plurality of transmission paths, an nth source network interface connected to an nth transmission path of the plurality of transmission paths, a video signal segmenting unit configured to segment a video signal into a plurality of pieces of data, a sequence number allocating unit configured to allocate a sequence number to each of the plurality of pieces of data, an IP packet generating unit configured to generate a plurality of IP packets by adding IP headers to the plurality of pieces of data, and a transmitting unit configured to allocate each of the plurality of IP packets to one of the first source network interface to the nth source network interface, respectively, and to transmit the IP packets independently.

A multicast switching system with an input stage, a middle stage, and an output stage, including a plurality of input switch elements of receiving/transmitting streams from input sources/to the middle stage, a plurality of middle switch elements of receiving/transmitting streams from the input switch elements/to the output stage, the plurality of middle switch elements being grouped into a plurality of groups and a plurality of output switch elements of receiving/outputting streams from the middle switch elements/to output destinations, wherein the input switch elements transmit the streams to each of the plurality of groups.

Multicast switching system

Provided is an IP uncompressed video encoder that converts an IP packet stream of uncompressed video to an IP packet stream of compressed video. The invention is a video encoder that produces an IP packetized stream of compressed video from an IP packetized stream of an uncompressed video signal, comprising: receiving means packetizing, from a network, one or a plurality of IP packetized streams of an uncompressed video signal; retrieving means for retrieving video data from the one or plurality of IP packetized streams of the uncompressed video signal; compressing means for compressing the retrieved video data; and transmitting means configured to IP packetize video compressed by the compressing means to create and transmit a stream of compressed video.

IP uncompressed video encoder and decoder

Provided are a video-signal switching method and a video receiver having two functions: a switching function between video signals in a currently-active system and in a backup system; and a switching function between two different videos. The present invention provides a video transmission system including video transmitters, a network connected to the video transmitters, and a video receiver connected to the network and configured to receive video streams of two IP-packetized video contents from the video transmitters. The video receiver has: a function of switching from an outputting video stream, which is continuously received but no longer receivable, to the other video stream of the same video content; and functions of stopping receiving one of the two video streams from the video transmitters, receiving the other video stream having a different video content, and switching the outputting video stream to the other video stream thus received.

A video encoder that produces an IP packetized stream of compressed video from an IP packetized stream of an uncompressed video signal, including: receiving means packetizing, from a network, one or a plurality of IP packetized streams of an uncompressed video signal; retrieving means for retrieving video data from the one or plurality of IP packetized streams of the uncompressed video signal; compressing means for compressing the retrieved video data; and transmitting means configured to IP packetize video compressed by the compressing means to create and transmit a stream of compressed video.

It is an objective to provide a video transmission system enabling easy acquisition and addition of any video signal. According to the ring network, optical wavelength multiplexing and transmission of video signal to be utilized for this network is carried out, so that it is possible to implement an environment, in which all necessary video signals flow on the network. Consequently, by acquiring any video signal from the video signals flowing on the network, it is possible to acquire new video source, or by adding new video source to the network, it is possible to utilize the added video source by all apparatuses connected to the network.
