The present invention provides a methacrylic resin composition for non-contact hot plate welding comprising a methacrylic resin comprising 80 to 99.9% by mass of a methacrylic acid ester monomer unit and 0.1 to 20% by mass of a unit of at least one additional vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the methacrylic acid ester monomer, wherein the methacrylic resin composition has a melt flow rate (MFR) of 2.5 g/10 min or lower at 230&#xb0; C. at a load of 3.8 kg.

Methacrylic resin composition for non-contact hot plate welding, molded article, and method for producing same

The present invention provides a vehicle lamp comprising a lens molded article () and a housing molded article () laser-welded to each other, the lens molded article () comprising a methacrylic resin composition which comprises 70 to 99.9% by mass of a methacrylic acid ester monomer unit and 0.1 to 30% by mass of a unit of an additional vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the methacrylic acid ester monomer and satisfies conditions (a) to (c), and the housing molded article () comprising a resin which satisfies a condition (d): (a) MW is 90000 to 250000; (b) a mass (MFR-1) of the methacrylic resin composition emitted according to ISO1133 standard at 230&#xb0; C. and 3.8 kg for 10 minutes is 0.2 to 12 g/10 min; (c) when a mass of the methacrylic resin composition emitted according to the ISO1133 standard at 230&#xb0; C. and 10 kg for 10 minutes is defined as MFR-2, MFR ratio=(MFR-2)/(MFR-1) is 4.5 or more; and (d) a mass (MFR-3) of the resin emitted according to the ISO1133 standard at 220&#xb0; C. and 10 kg for 10 minutes is 2 to 45 g/10 min or smaller.

A methacrylic resin comprising 80 to 98.5 wt % of methyl methacrylate monomer unit and 1.5 to 20 wt % of at least one different vinyl monomer unit copolymerizable with methyl methacrylate, characterized in that the methacrylic resin has a weight average molecular weight measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) of 60,000 to 230,000 and comprises 7 to 30% of a component having a weight average molecular weight of &#x2155; or less of a peak weight average molecular weight (Mp) obtained from a GPC elution curve based on the methacrylic resin component.
