A recording/reproducing device which is thinner when it is loaded with and without a cartridge, except while a cartridge is being inserted or taken out. A first cabinet ( ) incorporates recording/reproducing means and has an opened top. A second cabinet ( ) is so connected to the first cabinet ( ) as to close the opening of the first cabinet ( ). The second cabinet is so fitted in the first cabinet ( ) as to sink in the thickness of the first cabinet ( ) as shown in FIG. ( ) when a cartridge ( ) is loaded and not loaded therein, except while the cartridge ( ) is being inserted or taken out. While the cartridge ( ) is inserted or taken out, the second cabinet ( ) is separated by a distance d from the first cabinet ( ) as shown in FIG. ( ), thereby defining an opening through which the cartridge ( ) is inserted/taken out.

Recording/reproducing device

In an acoustic transducer of the present invention, a connecting part connects a housing and a support of the housing, such that a user's auricle is pinched between the housing and the support cooperatingly. Two hooks shaped into a circular arc embracing a constricted part of the auricle therebetween fix the support. These two hooks are connected such that a gap therebetween can be changed or adjusted.

Acoustic transducer

A cover apparatus of a cassette tape recorder comprising first and second covers rotatable to be openable and closable with respect to a body of the tape recorder. The first cover has a holder to encasing a tape cassette so that the tape cassette encased in the holder is rotatable in accordance with the rotation of the first cover, a length of the first cover in longitudinal directions being smaller than that of the tape cassette so that a portion of the tape cassette protrudes from the first cover when being encased in the holder. The second cover is arranged to be engaged with the first cover to be rotatable together with the first cover and movable along a surface of the first cover. The second cover, together with the first cover, rotates to cover the entire tape cassette when the first cover is closed with respect to the tape recorder body, and further the second cover moves with respect to the first cover when the first cover is opened with respect thereto, so that the portion of the tape cassette protrudes from tip portions of the first and second covers. This arrangement allows the user to easily take out the tape cassette from the tape recorder.

Two-part rotatable cover apparatus for tape cassette with lock mechanism

In an earphone assembly, a front cap portion of an outer casing (5) having an electroacoustic transducing device (12) therein is made to have a substantially circular configuration being greater in diameter than other portions to be able to be fit in the cavity of the auricle. The earphone assembly has a cord supporting member (4) for a connection cord (3) of the electroacoustic transducing device (12) and a movable member (10) pivotable with respect to the outer casing (5). A protruded portion (2a) of the outer casing protrudes peripherally from a peripheral portion of the front cap member thereof. The protruded portion (11) of the movable member (10) cooperates with the peripheral portion of the front cap member of the outer casing (5) to allow the earphone to be fit in the cavity of the auricle (9).

Earphone assembly

A cover apparatus of a cassette tape recorder comprising first and second covers rotatable to be openable and closable with respect to a body of the tape recorder, the first cover having a holder to encase a tape cassette so that the tape cassette encased in the cassette holder is rotatable in accordance with the rotation of the first cover. The first and second covers are coupled to each other through a slider engaged with the second cover and slidable along a side surface of the first cover. The first cover rotates to cover the entire tape cassette in cooperation with the second cover when the second cover is closed with respect to the tape recorder body. The second cover vertically moves by a predetermined height with respect to a surface of the first cover in accordance with a first sliding operation of the slider when the first cover is opened by a first predetermined angle with respect to the tape recorder body and horizontally moving a predetermined distance with respect to the surface of the first cover in accordance with a second sliding operation of the slider when said the cover is opened by a second predetermined angle greater than the first predetermined angle so that a portion of the tape cassette protrudes from a tip portion of the second cover. This arrangement allows the easily insertion and removal into and from the holder of the first cover.

Two-part slidable cover apparatus for tape cassette with lock mechanism

A cover opening/closing device prevents backlash when the cover is closed, by engaging the cover with a lock cam and urging the lock cam to be rotated into positions by a toggle spring. For this object, this device comprises a lock cam which is rotated about a rotational shaft provided in a main body, an operation lever which rotates the lock cam to open the cover, and a toggle spring which is designed to maintain the lock cam in urged states at the respective cover-opened and cover-closed positions. The lock cam can be kept urged in the cover-closed state.

Cover opening/closing device

A cassette tape recorder cabinet has an upper cabinet part and a lower cabinet part between which a mechanism base plate is provided to hold a tape cassette inserted into the recorder to drive a tape encased in the tape cassette. The upper and lower cabinet parts have respective front surfaces facing a tape-exposing side of the tape cassette and rear surfaces positioned opposite the front surfaces. The height of the front surface of the upper cabinet part is greater than that of the rear surface thereof, and the height of the front surface of the lower cabinet part is smaller than that of the rear surface thereof. The top surface of the upper cabinet is formed so as to be curved to accommodate the upper side of the tape cassette, and the lower cabinet part is similarly curved in correspondence with the top surface of the upper cabinet part, so that a wedge-like space is formed between the mechanism base plate and the lower cabinet to accommodate relatively large electrical parts at the rear side of the cassette tape recorder.
