An electrode plate, a method of manufacturing the same, a gas discharge panel using an electrode plate, and a method of manufacturing the same are provided by incorporating a relatively simple structure, which can keep electrodes formed on a plate from peeling or becoming misaligned. In the electrode plate, at least one electrode is formed and adhered to a main surface of a plate by a thick film or thin film formation method, wherein of all ends of the electrode, at least an end opposite to an end at a power supply point is adhered to the main surface of the plate with stronger adhesion than the other parts of the electrode. When this electrode plate is used as a front panel glass having a plurality of pairs of display electrodes in a gas discharge panel, at least an end of each bus line opposite to an end at a power supply point is firmly adhered to the surface of the front panel glass, thereby keeping the bus lines formed on respective transparent electrodes from warping and peeling away or becoming misaligned. Such a gas discharge panel can deliver excellent display performance.

Driving method of AC type plasma display panel

A plasma display panel has spaced apart and parallel first and second substrates. A base glass layer is provided on one surface of the second substrate confronting the first substrate. A plurality of spaced apart parallel ribs are positioned on the base glass layer and between the first and second substrates. Each rib defines a channel with a neighboring rib. A plurality of phosphors capable of emitting light are provided, each of which is positioned a corresponding channel. In particular, the base glass layer and/or ribs are made of material substantially impermeable to and non-reflective of light.

Disclosed is an AC plasma display device for preventing an error discharge, improving a luminous intensity, and applicable to high definition display. The device includes a front substrate, which has display electrodes in parallel to each other and a non-display line. The line and the display electrode are arranged alternately each other on the front substrate. Further, the device comprises a rear substrate, which has a plurality of data electrodes extending in a direction perpendicular to the display electrodes. The rear substrate forms a discharge space between itself and the front substrate, defines a gap of the discharge space, and has a partition in a belt shape placed between adjoining data electrodes. Furthermore, the rear substrate has a barrier between the partitions at a position facing to the non-display portion so as to have width corresponding to the non-display portion, form a gap between itself and the front substrate, and prevent an error discharge between the display electrodes.

An AC type plasma display panel is designed so as to have the relationships of Wb>Wg>Wr and Db>Dg>Dr, where Wb, Wg and Wr denote the widths of blue, green and red discharge cells and Db, Dg and Dr denote the widths of address electrodes ( and ) corresponding to respective colors. As a result, it is possible to adjust the electric charge stored in the discharge cells due to a write discharge according to colors, thereby making complete lighting write voltages of the discharge cells uniform. This achieves the AC type plasma display panel with an excellent display quality that has less occurrence of erroneous discharge and discharge flicker and an improved white display quality.

A front substrate and a back substrate are placed opposing each other separated by a discharge space. The front substrate is made of a semitransparent material such as a dark color glass with a mean transmittance for visible light of 60 to 80%. On the front substrate, a group of electrodes including pairs of scanning electrodes and sustaining electrodes covered with a dielectric layer and a protective coating are provided. Data electrodes and spacers are formed on the back substrate, and phosphors are provided on the data electrodes towards the side of the spacers. A front filter, which is made of a semitransparent glass sheet with a mean transmittance for visible light of 60 to 80%, is disposed on the front side of the front substrate. The present invention realizes a display with less halation and high contrast. Also, a detection rate of a defect in electrodes, which are formed on the front substrate, improves.

An AC plasma display panel in which variation in display luminance and occurrence of error display are suppressed is provided. A first insulating substrate and a second insulating substrate are positioned opposing each other. On the first insulating substrate, a scanning/sustain-electrode group including a plurality of sets of a scanning electrode and a sustain electrode that are arranged in parallel to each other and a dielectric layer covering the scanning/sustain-electrode group are provided. A plurality of data electrodes that are orthogonal to and opposing the scanning electrode and the sustain electrode are provided on the second insulating substrate. Discharges between the scanning electrode and the sustain electrode allow phosphors to emit light. Each of the plurality of sets includes, as a unit, the scanning electrode and the sustain electrodes positioned on both sides of the scanning electrode, and the plurality of sets are separated from one another.

A gas discharge display panel has front and rear plates. The plates are spaced apart from each other, thereby forming a chamber in which a discharge gas is contained. Also, both the front and rear plates are dark in color. Preferably, both the front and rear plates have a darkness of about 20% or more or a transparency of about 80% or less. This decreases halation of light, thereby preventing the mixing of colors. Also, the gas discharge display panel provides a high contrast and clear images to viewers.

A high-capacity, high-definition plasma display panel capable of providing a high-quality image has an image display area 16 within which pairs of sustaining electrodes and pairs of scanning electrodes are disposed in an alternating fashion with each other. Each pair of the sustaining electrodes are connected at their opposite ends with each other and, similarly, each pair of the scanning electrodes are connected at their opposite ends with each other. A unitary pixel is defined at an intersection between one of data electrodes 8 and a group including a pair of the scanning electrode, one of pair of the sustaining electrodes adjacent such pair of the scanning electrodes and one of the next succeeding pair of the sustaining electrodes adjacent such pair of the scanning electrodes.

Accordingly, in the electrolyzer,, the coupling resistance between the electrode terminal,and the electrode plate,is reduced as well as a large processing current can be flowed to the electrolyzer,for a long time even under conditions of low conductivity in which water having low conductivity is used, or the amount of an electrolyte required or necessary to be added to the water is reduced or minimized to some extent.
