A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery satisfies a relationship of an expression (I) '−0.19≤x−(0.0061y+0.0212z)'. x [μmol/Ah] is a value obtained by dividing a total amount of substance of lithium fluorosulfonate included in the electrolyte solution, by the rated capacity. y [m/Ah] is a value obtained by dividing a product of a BET specific surface area of the positive electrode active material particles and the total mass of the positive electrode active material particles included in the positive electrode plate, by the rated capacity. z [m/Ah] is a value obtained by dividing a product of a BET specific surface area of the negative electrode active material particles and the total mass of the negative electrode active material particles included in the negative electrode plate, by the rated capacity.

Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

(A) An electrolyte solution containing lithium bis(oxalato)borate and vinylene carbonate is injected into a lithium-ion battery. (B) Initial charging is performed. (C) Aging is performed. During the aging, lithium bis(oxalato)borate and vinylene carbonate contained in the electrolyte solution are degraded. After the aging, in the electrolyte solution, a mass fraction of lithium bis(oxalato)borate is less than 0.10% and a mass fraction of vinylene carbonate is less than 0.10%.

Method of producing lithium-ion battery

A non-aqueous battery with improved volume energy density and enhanced load characteristics is made available even when using olivine-type lithium phosphate as a positive electrode active material. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery of the present invention is provided with a positive electrode () containing lithium iron phosphate as a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode (), and a non-aqueous electrolyte (). In the positive electrode (), a positive electrode active material-containing layer that is made of the positive electrode active material, a conductive agent, and a binder agent is formed on a positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode current collector has a thickness of less than 20 &#x3bc;m and its surface that is in contact with the positive electrode active material-containing layer has a mean surface roughness Ra of greater than 0.026.

Non-aqueous electrolyte battery

A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery has a positive electrode (1), a negative electrode (2), and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode has a positive electrode mixture layer containing a positive electrode active material, a binder agent, and a conductive agent. The positive electrode active material in the positive electrode mixture layer contains an olivine-type lithium-containing metal phosphate represented by the general formula LiMPO, where M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Co, Ni, Mn, and Fe, and x is 0&#x3c;x&#x3c;1.3. The conductive agent in the positive electrode mixture layer is composed of a mixture of carbon particles and carbon fiber.

Using a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery containing lithium iron phosphate as a positive electrode active material and graphite as a negative electrode active material, a low-cost, high energy density battery is provided that exhibits good performance at high rate current and good cycle performance even at high temperature. The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery has a positive electrode having a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode active material-containing layer formed on a surface of the positive electrode current collector, the positive electrode active material-containing layer containing a conductive agent and a positive electrode active material including lithium iron phosphate, a negative electrode containing a carbon material, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The non-aqueous electrolyte contains vinylene carbonate.

A method of producing an active material for a lithium secondary battery, by which impurities causing problems in synthesizing an active material for a lithium secondary battery, including a lithium transition metal oxyanion compound are removed efficiently and enhancement of an energy density is realized, is provided. By cleaning the active material for a lithium secondary battery, including a lithium transition metal oxyanion compound, with a pH buffer solution, for example, it is possible to efficiently remove just only impurities such as LiPOor LiCO, or a substance, other than LiFePO, in which the valence of Fe is bivalent such as FeSO, FeO or Fe(PO)without dissolving Fe of LiFePO.
