The present invention provides a silicone rubber-based curable composition with which a silicone rubber having excellent tensile strength and tear strength is obtained, a method for producing a silicone rubber using the silicone rubber-based curable composition, a silicone rubber, a molded article using the silicone rubber, and a tube for medical use formed from the molded article. The silicone rubber-based curable composition of the present invention is characterized in that it includes a vinyl group-containing organopolysiloxane (A), an organohydrogen polysiloxane (B), silica particles (C), a silane coupling agent (D), and platinum or a platinum compound (E).

A silicone rubber-based hardening composition includes a linear organopolysiloxane having a vinyl group (A), an organohydrogen polysiloxane (B), and a silica filler (C) of which surface is treated with a silane coupling agent having a trimethylsilyl group. The linear organopolysiloxane having a vinyl group (A) includes a first linear organopolysiloxane having a vinyl group (A1), and a second linear organopolysiloxane having a vinyl group (A2).

The correlation between the aggregation structure of inorganic fillers such as silica microparticles in silicone rubbers and tensile strength and tear strength still has not been elucidated. The purpose of the invention is to provide a curable silicone rubber composition with which a silicone rubber of superior tensile strength and tear strength can be obtained. The invention provides a curable silicone rubber composition that is characterized in that the aggregate size of the inorganic filler prior to extending as determined by synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurement is 20-25 nm and the maximum value for the orientation coefficient of the curable silicone rubber composition when drawn as determined by synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurement is 0.25-0.35.

Embodiments in accordance with the present invention provide alicyclic diepoxide compounds and methods for forming such compounds. Such methods encompass charging a reaction vessel with an appropriate diene and an appropriate dienophile and causing such to react to form and recover a desired alicyclic diepoxide precursor where such precursor is subsequently epoxidized.
