Photothermographic material and method for forming images

A heat-developable image-recording material comprising, on a support, a silver-supplying layer containing an organic silver salt, a reducing agent and an organic binder, and a separate photosensitive layer containing a photosensitive silver halide, the heat-developable image-recording material further containing an electron-transfer agent; and a method for forming an image by heat development comprising; imagewise exposing the heat-developable image-recording material and then heat-developing, whereby development of the photosensitive layer forms a silver image in the silver-supplying layer.

A photothermographic material comprising at least (a) a photosensitive silver halide, (b) a silver salt of an organic acid, (c) a reducing agent and (d) a hydrophobic and thermoplastic organic binder on a support, which contains a heat-fusible solvent that is solid at an ordinary temperature and can be fused at a heat development temperature. There is provided a photothermographic material showing high sensitivity, high developing speed and little performance fluctuation due to variation of heat development temperature.

The present application relates to a photothermographic material comprising, on a side of a support, (a) a photosensitive silver halide, (b) a reducible silver salt, (c) a phenol derivative having the specific structure as reducing compound, (d) a binder, (e) a coupler compound, and (f) a compound represented by Q &mdash;NHNH&mdash;V wherein Q is a 5- to 7-membered unsaturated ring and V is a carbamoyl group, etc.

A method for thermally forming images for plate making, which comprises forming an image for plate making by using a thermally processed image recording material comprising a silver salt of an organic acid, a reducing agent, a color image forming material and an organic binder on a support, wherein the image consists essentially of a developed silver image and a color forming dye image and the color forming dye image shows an absorbance for ultraviolet region higher than that for visible region and has a transmission density of 0.3 or more for the region of 360-450 nm. There are provided a thermally processed image recording material and method for thermally forming images that provide significant difference of ultraviolet absorption between image areas and non-image areas suitable for printing plate making.

A photothermographic material exhibiting satisfactory photographic properties can be prepared using an aqueous dispersion of components. A photosensitive layer is formed by dispersing a binder and silver halide in an aqueous solvent containing at least 30 wt % of water to form an aqueous dispersion, coating the aqueous dispersion onto a support, and drying the coating. The binder is a polymer having an equilibrium moisture content of 0.1-2 wt % at 25&deg; C. and RH 60% or a thermoplastic resin. The binder is preferably based on a styrene-butadiene copolymer. Fog is suppressed even when the material is stored in a humid atmosphere.

A heat-developable image recording material containing an organic silver salt, a reducing agent and an organic binder characterized in that the reducing agent comprises a combination of two or more different kinds of reductive compounds exhibiting superadditivity was disclosed.

Heat-developable image recording material

A heat-developable photosensitive material having: (a) at least one layer of photosensitive image-forming layer containing an organic silver salt, a photosensitive silver halide, a reducing agent and an organic binder; and (b) a functional layer containing a binder and a solid dispersion; the binder consisting of a water-dispersed thermoplastic resin, and the solid dispersion being made of a precursor of a photographically useful compound capable of releasing the photographically useful compound when heated to 100&deg; C. or higher and not higher than heat development temperature is disclosed.

Heat-developable photosensitive material

An object of the present invention is to provide a heat-developable photosensitive material of less heat development temperature and humidity dependency, which is unlikely to be affected by uneven temperature distribution in heat development apparatuses and humidity condition, and can stably form uniform images, in particular, a heat-developable photosensitive material of improved stability of coating solutions overtime, which can form uniform ultrahigh contrast images without unevenness, which are suitable for mechanical processes, and exhibit suppressed fluctuation of photographic performance depending on the storage condition. According to the present invention, there is provided a heat-developable photosensitive material having at least one photosensitive image-forming layer comprising an organic silver salt, a photosensitive silver halide, a reducing agent and an organic binder, wherein at least one of the photosensitive image-forming layer and a layer adjacent to the photosensitive image-forming layer contains a first halogen-releasing precursor having at least one dissociative or hydrophilic substituent and a second hydrophobic halogen-releasing precursor.

Heat-developable photosensitive material and method for forming image using the same

A photothermographic material has a support bearing a photosensitive layer containing an organic silver salt, a photosensitive silver halide, a reducing agent, and a ultrahigh contrast promoting agent. The support is a plastic film having a Tg of at least 90&deg; C. Better results are obtained when the support experiences a dimensional change of up to 0.04% when heated at 115&deg; C. for 30 seconds. Preferably, a conductive polymer layer is provided typically as an outermost layer, and an outermost layer has a Bekk smoothness of up to 4,000 seconds, typically a back layer has a Bekk smoothness of up to 4,000 seconds. The photothermographic material has improved dimensional stability and produces ultrahigh contrast images with high Dmax.

An acetylene compound is used in a thermographic image-recording element comprising on a support an image-recording layer containing a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent therefor, and a thermoplastic polymer binder. The element can be heat developed at lower temperatures.
