An ink ribbon cassette is provided with a shaft container including a reel-out shaft holder having a reel-out shaft bearing journaling an ink ribbon reel-out shaft; a reel-in shaft holder having a reel-in shaft bearing journaling an ink ribbon reel-in shaft; and a pair of lateral bodies connecting the reel-out shaft holder to the reel-in shaft holder. A reel-out shaft holder cover 19 adapted to cover the reel-out shaft holder of the shaft container is connected to the reel-out shaft holder via a first connecting body. Disclosed is a thermal transfer image receiving sheet comprising a substrate sheet, an intermediate layer provided on at least one surface side of the substrate sheet and a dye receptor layer provided on the surface of the intermediate layer, wherein the substrate sheet is a pulp paper, the intermediate layer is formed from an organic solvent solution of a resin, and the dye receptor layer is formed from an aqueous resin liquid. By virtue of this structure, the thermal transfer image receiving sheet can be prevented from occurrence of curling caused by temperature change. Also disclosed is a thermal transfer image receiving sheet comprising a substrate sheet, an intermediate layer provided on at least one surface side of the substrate sheet and a dye receptor layer provided on the surface of the intermediate layer, wherein the intermediate layer is formed from either an acrylic resin or a resin at least a part of which is crosslinked. By virtue of this structure, the thermal transfer image receiving sheet can be excellent in smoothness, strength, cushioning properties and writing properties, and further can give an image of high density and high resolution.

Disclosed is a thermal transfer image receiving sheet comprising a substrate sheet, an intermediate layer provided on at least one surface side of the substrate sheet and a dye receptor layer provided on the surface of the intermediate layer, wherein the intermediate layer is formed from either an acrylic resin or a resin at least a part of which is crosslinked. The present invention provides a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet comprises (1) an adhesive sheet portion 1 comprising a support 2, a dye receptor layer 3 disposed on a front surface of the support and an adhesive layer 4 disposed on a back surface of the support and (2) a release sheet 5 temporarily bonded to the adhesive layer so as to be peelable therefrom. The support 2 is a layered product comprising a foamed resin film layer 6 disposed on a dye receptor layer side thereof and a non-foamed resin film layer 7 disposed on an adhesive layer side thereof. A thermal transfer image-receiving sheet including a substrate sheet and a colorant-receptive layer, the substrate sheet having microvoids and having been formed by extruding a composition including a polyester resin and a polyolefin resin and biaxially stretching the resultant extrudate, the number of microvoids in the section of the substrate sheet being 3.7.times.10.sup.4 to 2.2.times.10.sup.5 /mm.sup.2. Additionally, a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet including a substrate and a colorant-receptive layer, the substrate including a plastic film having microvoids, the fractal dimension of the microvoids being not less than 1.45. A thermal transfer image-receiving sheet having a substrate composed of paper or a paper-containing laminate is free from surface undulations or irregularities extending over several millimeters or more related to appearance and quality, has excellent printability, and gives high smoothness and a quality appearance. Concretely, a substrate 1 is composed of paper with an average area per flock of 6 mm.sup.2 or less, and a coloring material receptive layer 2 is formed on the substrate to constitute a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet 10. A resin layer 4 having fine voids inside is provided at least on the surface of the substrate 1 on the side where the coloring material receptive layer 2 is laminated.
