The leather-like sheet for balls of the present invention comprises a fiber-entangled fabric and a porous surface layer disposed on the surface of the fiber-entangled fabric. The porous surface layer has a pattern formed by a plurality of outwardly projecting pebbles and valleys between the pebbles. A plurality of microholes having an average diameter of 5 to 100 &#x3bc;m are formed on surfaces of the pebbles, but the microhole is substantially not formed on surfaces of the valleys. The leather-like sheet exhibits a sufficient surface abrasion resistance and an excellent non-slip properties because of its high sweat-absorbing ability under wet conditions.

Leather-like sheet for balls

A leather-like sheet having naps on its surface and having writing effect, a high-class external appearance, hand touch and feel like natural leather, and folds like natural leather. When it is subjected to lasting shoemaking, it is possible to obtain shoes which have at its surface no unevenness and do not get out of shape. A leather-like sheet wherein the following fiber-entangled nonwoven fabrics (A) and (B) are stacked with an adhesive agent present in a discontinuous state: (A) a fiber-entangled nonwoven fabric containing an elastic polymer and comprising a microfine fiber (a) having a fineness of 0.1 denier or less, the surface opposite to its stacking surf ace being fluffed, and rupture elongations in the longitudinal and latitudinal directions thereof being 50% or more and 80% or more, respectively, and (B) a fiber-entangled nonwoven fabric containing an elastic polymer and comprising a microfine fiber (b) having a fineness of 0.5 denier or less, the fineness being 4 times or more larger than that of the fiber (a), and rupture elongations in the longitudinal and latitudinal directions thereof being 50% or more and 80% or more, respectively.

Leather-like sheet having napped surface

A highly flexible leather-like sheet material has a base layer of a fibrous aggregate containing a first polymer principally containing a first elastic polymer and, provided on the surface thereof, a coating layer of a second polymer principally comprising a second elastic polymer, said coating layer containing the two layers of a wet-formed porous intermediate coating layer integrated with the base layer and having a thickness of 10 to 40 .mu.m and having continuous pores with a maximum pore diameter of 1 to 30 .mu.m and a dry-formed porous surface coating layer having a thickness of 20 to 80 .mu.m and having continuous pores with a maximum pore diameter of substantially not more than 20 .mu.m and an average pore diameter of, preferably, 1 to 5 .mu.m obtained by extracting off fine particles, the two layers both containing a softening agent.

Highly flexible leather-like sheet material and process for producing

A leather-like sheet material bearing a remarkable resemblance to high-quality leathers of natural origin, especially in respect of flatness, bending crimp, grain and feeling, is produced by providing a substrate consisting of a fibrous base material and a porous coating layer with a thin layer of a polymer, subjecting the surface to a specific heat treatment, providing the resulting material with another thin layer of a polymer, and, if desired, embossing the material.

A leather-like sheet material is provided having a good pearl-like tint, said sheet material comprising a substrate comprising a fibrous mat and a porous coating layer of a polymer composed mainly of a polyurethane elastomer, a pearl layer having a thickness of 0.2 to 10.mu. and comprising a polymer composed mainly of a polyurethane elastomer and 3 to 500% by weight, based on the polymer, of a pearl pigment, and a colored layer having a thickness of 0.1 to 10.mu. and comprising a polymer composed mainly of a polyurethane elastomer and 1 to 300% by weight, based on the polymer, of a dyestuff and/or 1 to 600% by weight, based on the polymer, of a pigment.
