A first antenna, a second antenna, and a waveguide structure are housed in a single cabinet. An operating frequency of the second antenna is higher than an operating frequency of the first antenna. The second antenna is an array antenna including a plurality of radiating elements. The waveguide structure is present outside a range of a half-value angle of a main beam as viewed from the first antenna, includes a unit waveguide disposed in a route of a radio wave received by the second antenna, and further attenuates a radio wave with the operating frequency of the first antenna.

Communication device

Provided is an object shape detection apparatus that can detect the shape of a raised or depressed portion on the surface of an object. In accordance with a comparison result obtained by a reflection intensity comparator with regard to intensity of a horizontally polarized wave component and a vertically polarized wave component of a reflected wave, the object shape determiner detects the shape of the raised portion and the shape of the depressed portion of a detection target object. The object locator detects the position of the raised portion and the position of the depressed portion of the detection target object by measuring the distance to the raised portion and the distance to the depressed portion of the detection target object detected by the object shape determiner.

Object shape detection apparatus, vehicle including the same, and object shape detection method

A feed line connects an RFIC and a radiating element. A baseband ground plane (BB ground) is connected to a ground terminal of a BBIC. A radio frequency ground plane (RF ground) is placed in such a manner as to overlap the BB ground. The RF ground serves as a return path of the feed line. A first inter-ground connection circuit connects the BB ground and the RF ground. Furthermore, a second inter-ground connection circuit connects the BB ground and the RF ground. Connecting parts between these grounds and the second inter-ground connection circuit are arranged closer to the edges of these grounds than connecting parts between these grounds and the first inter-ground connection circuit. The connecting part between the ground and the second inter-ground connection circuit is placed on one side of a certain imaginary straight line that passes substantially the geometric center of the ground.

Communication module

A Luneburg lens antenna device includes a Luneburg lens and an array antenna. The Luneburg lens is formed in a cylindrical shape, and the Luneburg lens includes three dielectric layers through having different dielectric constants and stacked on each other in the radial direction. The array antenna includes plural antenna elements disposed on an outer peripheral surface of the Luneburg lens and at different positions of focal points in the peripheral direction and in the axial direction of the Luneburg lens. The array antenna is provided in a range which is &#xbd; or smaller of the entire range of the Luneburg lens in the peripheral direction.

Luneburg lens antenna device

A Luneburg lens antenna device includes a Luneburg lens, a plurality of patch antennas, and a plurality of low-frequency antennas. The Luneburg lens is formed in a cylindrical shape and includes three dielectric layers having different dielectric constants and stacked on each other in the radial direction. The plurality of patch antennas respectively include ground electrodes which cover the outer peripheral surface of radiating elements, and form high-frequency MIMO antennas. The plurality of low-frequency antennas are monopole antennas using the ground electrodes, and form low-frequency MIMO antennas.

A patch array antenna includes a ground plane and a plurality of radiation elements that are disposed being distanced from the ground plane. A conductive metal member is disposed above a surface on which the plurality of radiation elements are disposed. The metal member overlaps with part of a region of each of the plurality of radiation elements in a direction orthogonal to an array direction of the patch array antenna and does not overlap with the other part of the region, and continuously extends from the radiation element at one end to the radiation element at the other end in the array direction.

Provided is a MEMS module that includes a MEMS element having a first capacitor electrode that can be displaced, a second capacitor electrode that opposes the first capacitor electrode, and driving electrodes that cause the first capacitor electrode to be displaced. The driving electrodes are connected to a control unit that applies a driving voltage to the driving electrodes and monitor terminals for detecting power. Thus, an element for monitoring power is not needed and a MEMS module, a variable reactance circuit and an antenna device are provided that are capable of realizing smaller size and lower loss.

An antenna apparatus and a radio communication apparatus are capable of separately controlling a resonance frequency in a basic mode and a resonance frequency in a higher mode and have a wide bandwidth in which the resonance frequency in the basic mode is variable. The antenna apparatus includes a feeding electrode, a loop-shaped radiation electrode, a capacitance portion, and inductorsand. The capacitance portionis formed by a gap between an open endof the loop-shaped radiation electrodeand the feeding electrode. The inductoris disposed at a position where a large current is obtained in the basic mode and a small current is obtained in the higher mode. The inductoris disposed at a position where a large current is obtained in the higher mode and a small current is obtained in the basic mode.

Antenna apparatus and radio communication apparatus

An antenna device and a wireless communication apparatus that are capable of obtaining a plurality of resonant frequencies and varying the plurality of resonant frequencies over a wide range are provided. A first antenna unit of an antenna device includes a feed electrode, a first radiation electrode, and a first frequency-variable circuit. The first frequency-variable circuit includes first and second reactance circuits each including a variable-capacitance diode. A control voltage is applied to the first frequency-variable circuit, and the resonant frequency of the first antenna unit can thus be varied. A second antenna unit includes the feed electrode, a second radiation electrode, and a second frequency-variable circuit. The second frequency-variable circuit includes first and third reactance circuits each including a variable-capacitance diode. A control voltage is applied to the second frequency-variable circuit, and the resonant frequency of the second antenna unit can thus be varied.

Antenna device and wireless communication apparatus

A compact and low-cost antenna device in which no interference occurs even when many antenna units corresponding to various systems are mounted close together in a small area, and a wireless communication apparatus including the antenna device. An antenna device includes plural antenna units mounted on a single dielectric base. A first antenna unit having a lowest fundamental frequency is disposed at a left end of a non-ground region, a second antenna unit having a highest fundamental frequency of the plurality of the antenna units is disposed at a right end of the non-ground region, and a third antenna unit having a fundamental frequency between those of the first antenna unit and the second antenna unit is disposed between the first and second antenna units. A current-density control coil is connected between a first radiation electrode and a power feeder of the first antenna unit, while a reactance circuit is disposed in the middle of the first radiation electrode. Notches may be disposed between the first radiation electrode and a second radiation electrode and between the first radiation electrode and a third radiation electrode.

A ground electrode is formed on the lower surface of a ferroelectric substrate, a control electrode including capacitor electrodes and an inductor electrode is formed on the upper surface of the ferroelectric substrate, and an upper-surface radiating electrode and an end-surface radiating electrode are formed on a paraelectric substrate. The shapes and dimensions of the ferroelectric substrate, paraelectric substrate, and radiating electrodes are determined such that when the ferroelectric substrate and the paraelectric substrate are stacked in layers, a circuit including the radiating electrodes resonates at frequencies outside a frequency band exhibiting frequency dispersion of a dielectric constant.

Surface-mount antenna and antenna device

An antenna device includes a signal-band separating circuit that is interposed between a communication antenna and a ground portion that are disposed on a circuit board. The communication antenna is connected to a communication circuit by a signal line via a signal-band separating circuit. A telecast-receiving antenna is connected to a broadcast circuit by a signal line. The signal-band separating circuit transmits signals in a frequency band for communication between the communication antenna and the communication circuit, and transmits signals in a frequency band for telecasts between the communication antenna and the ground portion. The antenna length (electrical length) of the telecast-receiving antenna is extended by adding the antenna length of the communication antenna in addition to the antenna length of the ground portion, thereby improving the antenna gain during telecast reception.

Antenna device and radio communication apparatus using the same

A compact and thin antenna device can be mounted in a small area of a substrate and has a multiband capability adaptable to various applications. The antenna device includes a chip antenna, an antenna element, and a chip antenna. The chip antenna is produced by forming a radiation electrode on the surface of a dielectric base, and mounting a frequency variable circuit on the radiation electrode. Thus, it becomes possible to obtain a resonant frequency fof the chip antenna and further to vary the resonant frequency f. The antenna element is produced by adding an auxiliary element to an additional radiation electrode for the chip antenna. The chip antenna includes a radiation electrode on a dielectric base and a conductive pattern. Thus, a resonant frequency fand a resonant frequency fof the antenna element and the chip antenna, respectively, can be obtained.

A coil antenna structure includes a first magnetic component extending in the thickness direction of a tabular primary casing. A second magnetic component and a third magnetic component, which are magnetically connected to the first magnetic component, are disposed on the first principal surface side and the second principal surface side of the primary casing, respectively. The first magnetic component is provided with a coil component surrounding it. In this manner, a U-shaped magnetic path is provided at an end portion of the primary casing so as to detour around a substrate defining an internal conductor. Likewise, a U-shaped magnetic path including fourth to sixth magnetic components is provided in a secondary casing defining a clamshell type casing together with the primary casing so as to detour around a substrate defining as an internal conductor.
