A control apparatus is applied to a system including an engine and a compressor for air-conditioning, and adjusts an operating point of the engine when the engine is operated. The control apparatus determines whether or not to allow increase in engine output to drive a compressor based on an air-conditioning request, based on the operating point of the engine before driving of the compressor in relation to a predetermined high-efficiency region including a maximum efficiency point in an efficiency characteristics of the engine, when the compressor is driven in response to the air-conditioning request. The control apparatus controls the engine output such that the operating point of the engine is in the high-efficiency region, if the increase in engine output is determined to be allowed.

Engine control apparatus

A vehicle control apparatus includes an engine and a motor generator, and controls a hybrid vehicle in which the engine is started by starting torque outputted from the motor generator. The apparatus includes a prestart control section which makes the motor generator output prestart torque smaller than the starting torque before the engine is started by the starting torque, a balance determination section which determines whether or not compression torque caused by pressure in a cylinder of the engine and the prestart torque are balanced with each other, and a start-up control section which makes the motor generator output the starting torque, after the balance determination section determines that the compression torque and the prestart torque are balanced with each other.

Vehicle control apparatus

A motor generator is connected to a high voltage battery through an inverter. A voltage of the high voltage battery is decreased and is applied to a low voltage battery through a DC-DC converter. At time of starting an engine, a starting operation of a starter is executed by applying an output voltage of the DC-DC converterto the starter. At this time, the output voltage of the DC-DC convertermay be adjusted based on the temperature of the engine, the voltage of the low voltage battery and/or the degree of degradation of lubricant oil of the engine.

A vehicle includes: an electric motor that outputs power to a drive shaft that is coupled to a first wheel, which is a primary drive wheel; an electrical storage device that exchanges electrical power with the electric motor; a braking system that can independently apply a braking force to the first wheel and a second wheel that is a free rolling wheel or a drive wheel other than the first wheel, regardless of a braking request by a driver; and a control unit that controls the braking system and the electric motor such that the braking system applies the braking force only to the second wheel and that output torque of the electric motor becomes equal to or lower than specified torque until rotational speed of the electric motor reach specified revolution when a start-up request is made by the driver while the vehicle is at a halt on a driving road surface whose inclination, which is acquired by an inclination acquisition device, is larger than or equal to specified inclination. The present invention also relates to a control method of the vehicle.

Vehicle and control method of vehicle

A hybrid vehicle includes a fuel tank for storing fuel for an engine, a circulation system (a pump), a first path, a pressure regulator, and a second path for circulating the fuel, and a control device (hybrid control unit). When the hybrid vehicle is in a vehicular state that satisfies a predetermined condition, the control device controls the hybrid vehicle so that it performs EV traveling (electrical vehicle traveling) in which wheels are driven by a rotating electrical machine with the engine stopped. When the stop period of the engine is equal to or longer than a predetermined period, the control device drives the circulation system to circulate the fuel.

Hybrid vehicle

At an intake timing of an initial combustion cylinder, an actual intake valve timing is adjusted to a target intake valve timing corresponding to a target intake air flow rate of the initial combustion cylinder. At intake timing of the other cylinders which contributes to increment of the engine speed after the initial combustion, the actual intake valve timing is adjusted to a target valve timing corresponding to a target intake air flow rate of the other cylinders. Thereby, the intake air flow rate of each cylinder is accurately controlled, so that the increment of the engine speed is restricted within a range in which a startability is not deteriorated and a vehicle vibration and an over shoot of the engine speed is appropriately restricted.

Start controller for internal combustion engine

A variable valve timing controller adjusts valve timing of an intake valve and/or an exhaust valve by varying a motor speed relative to a camshaft. When an engine is running under a predetermined condition, an actual valve timing is calculated based on a cam angle signal and crank angle signal every when the cam angle signal is inputted. A final valve timing is calculated by adding a valve timing variation amount to the actual valve timing at the time the cam angle signal is outputted. The valve timing amount is periodically calculated based on a difference between a motor speed and a rotational speed of the intake camshaft. When the engine is running under another condition, only actual valve timing at the time the cam angle signal is outputted is calculated.

Variable valve timing controller for internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine has a variable valve timing apparatus including a driving motor between a crankshaft and a camshaft. The driving motor rotates synchronously with the camshaft when the valve timing apparatus is not in operation. A motor rotation sensor produces a motor rotation signal. When the engine rotation speed is below a reference speed, the driving motor is not energized. Under this condition, the rotation speed and the rotation direction of the engine are calculated based on the motor rotation signal in place of a crank rotation signal produced by a crank angle sensor. Further, the rotation stop position of the engine is calculated based on the motor rotation signal when the engine is stopped.

Engine rotation condition detecting system and engine control method

An ECU calculates an engine speed for calculating a camshaft phase based on a time period T&#x3b8; in which a crankshaft rotates a sampling angle &#x3b8;. The camshaft phase is derived from a time difference between output timing of a cam angle signal and output timing of a crank angle signal based on the engine speed. According as the engine speed is lower, the sampling angle &#x3b8; becomes small, so that the engine speed and the camshaft phase are precisely calculated.
