A relief valve includes a housing including an internal flow passage through which a working fluid flows, and a relief port discharging the working fluid from the internal flow passage, and a valve body including a first pressure-receiving portion a second pressure-receiving portion receiving pressure with a pressure-receiving area that is larger than a pressure-receiving area of the first pressure-receiving portion, and a first recessed portion formed at the second pressure-receiving portion at an opposite side relative to a pressure-receiving surface of the second pressure-receiving portion and including a closed-end cylindrical shape. The relief valve includes a biasing force adjustment mechanism including a spring of which one end is held at the first recessed portion, a support portion retaining the other end of the spring and including a closed-end cylindrical shape, and a motor adjusting a rotational angle and causing the support portion to reciprocate.

Relief valve

This internal combustion engine includes a piston, an oil jet that operates at a predetermined operating pressure to supply oil to the piston, and a hydraulic controller provided upstream of an oil passage including the oil jet. The hydraulic controller includes a constantly opened first passage through which the oil having a pressure lower than the predetermined operating pressure is supplied to the oil jet, a second passage provided alongside of the first passage and being openable and closable, through which the oil having a pressure higher than the predetermined operating pressure is supplied to the oil jet in combination with the first passage in a state where the same is opened, and an opening-closing control portion that controls the second passage to be in an open state when actuating the oil jet, and controls the second passage to be in a closed state when stopping actuating the oil jet.

Internal combustion engine and hydraulic controller for internal combustion engine

A valve timing controller includes a driving-side rotary member, a driven-side rotary member, an advancing chamber and a retarding chamber formed as a fluid pressure chamber is partitioned by a partitioning portion provided on an outer circumferential side of the driven-side rotary member, and a phase controlling section. The driven-side rotary member includes an advancing passage communicated to the advancing chamber and a retarding passage communicated to the retarding chamber. The driving-side rotary member is formed of an aluminum-based material. The driven-side rotary member integrally includes an outer circumferential member having the partitioning portion and formed of an aluminum-based material, and an inner circumferential member constituting an inner circumferential side of the outer circumferential member and formed of an iron-based material.

Valve timing controller

A valve timing control device includes a lock mechanism having a hole portion formed in one of the driving-side/driven-side rotational members, a sleeve in the hole portion, a lock member in the sleeve and capable of projecting and retracting with respect to the other of the driving-side/driven-side members, and a lock hole formed in the other of the driving-side/driven-side members such that the lock member can be fitted to the lock hole when the lock member projects. The lock mechanism constrains a relative rotational phase of the driven-side rotational member with respect to the driving-side rotational member at a predetermined phase when the lock member is fitted to the lock hole. A first chamfered surface is formed in the circumferential direction at an inner-circumferential corner of an end of the sleeve on the side opposite to the side facing the lock hole.

Valve timing control device

A valve timing controller includes: a driving-side rolling body configured to rotate synchronously with an engine crankshaft; a driven-side rolling body configured to rotate in a unified manner with a camshaft for opening/closing an engine valve relative to the driving-side rolling body; an advance chamber, and a retard chamber; a torsion spring disposed in a space formed between a front plate or a rear plate of the driving-side rolling body and the driven-side rolling body and configured to bias at all times the driving-side rolling body and the driven-side rolling body in the advance direction or the retard direction; and a first cylindrical portion provided in the front plate or the rear plate and a second cylindrical portion provided in the driven-side rolling body, the first and second cylindrical portions being insertable into each other in an axial direction.

A valve opening-closing timing control device includes: a driving rotating body that rotates synchronously with a crankshaft; a following rotating body that rotates integrally with a cam shaft; a phase control mechanism that controls changing of relative rotational phases of the driving and following rotating bodies; a torsion coil spring engaged by a front member of the driving rotating body and by the following driving body, and biases the following rotating body in an advance/retarded direction with respect to the driving rotating body. The front member includes multiple bearing surfaces to be attached with countersunk head screws, and an engaging part engaging an end of the torsion coil spring with the torsion coil spring in a twisted state. The engaging part includes a mounting part for a tool with which the end of the torsion coil spring is moved in a direction increasing torsion strength of the torsion coil spring.

Valve opening-closing timing control device and method for attaching front member thereof

Even when sliding occurs between a radially extending face of a spring member and at least one of a driving-side rotary member and a driven-side rotary member, wear of the at least one of the driving-side rotary member and the driven-side rotary member is prevented. Along the axial direction of the camshaft, a torsion spring is provided between the driven-side rotary member and a housing side face portion for urging the relative rotational phase to the angle advancing direction or the angle retarding direction, and a spring washer is disposed between the driven-side rotary member and the torsion spring.

Valve open/close timing control device

Provided is a valve timing control apparatus that allows relaxation of manufacturing precision of a driving-side rotary member and a driven-side rotary member and that achieves space saving at the same time. An urging member includes at least one trough-folded portion and at least one crest-folded portion, one end side contact portion formed between one terminal end of the urging member and the trough-folded portion and coming into contact with a sealing element, and other end side contact portion formed between the other terminal end of the urging member and the crest-folded portion and coming into contact with a partitioning portion. In association with urging of the urging member, the distance between the one end side contact portion and the other end side contact portion along the urging direction is decreased and the angles of the trough-folded portion and the crest-folded portion are decreased.

A valve timing control device that enables simplification of the manufacturing process and reduction of the number of parts while suppressing deformation of a driven rotary element. The valve timing control device includes a driving rotary element, a driven rotary element, a plurality of partitions each for dividing a fluid pressure chamber into a regarded angle chamber and an advanced angle chamber, and a connecting element for connecting the driven rotary element to a camshaft. The connecting element includes a press fitting portion having a plurality of fitting segments configured to fit to an inner circumference of a recess of the driven rotary element. At least one of centerlines of the fitting segments extending in a radial direction does not overlap any of the partitions.

A valve timing control device includes a driving rotary element synchronously rotatable with a crankshaft; a driven rotary element mounted coaxially with the driving rotary element and synchronously rotatable with a camshaft; a plurality of partitions provided in the driven rotary element each for dividing a fluid pressure chamber formed between the driving rotary element and the driven rotary element into a regarded angle chamber and an advanced angle chamber; and a connecting element for connecting the driven rotary element to the camshaft. The connecting element includes a flange inserted into a recess formed in the driven rotatory element, and a shaft portion inserted into a through bore formed in a wall of the driving rotary element adjacent to the camshaft. Provided is a valve open/close timing control system where a valve open/close timing control device includes a drive-side rotating member, a driven-side rotating member, a relative rotational phase control mechanism, and a first locking member, in which the internal combustion engine is configured to be started by a drive force generated by a traveling motor or by a drive force generated by a starter motor, and the valve open/close timing control system also includes a control unit which is configured, for starting the internal combustion engine while changing the relative rotational phase at the time of starting the internal combustion engine, to drive the starter motor or the traveling motor at the time of starting the internal combustion engine at the first locking phase, and to drive the traveling motor at the time of starting the internal combustion engine at the second locking phase.

A variable valve timing control apparatus includes a driving side rotation member synchronously rotating with a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, a driven side rotation member including a rotation peripheral surface, an intermediate lock mechanism for locking a rotational phase of the driven side rotation member at an intermediate phase between a most retarded angle phase and a most advanced angle phase, and a fixed member fixed to the internal combustion engine and including a fixed peripheral surface facing the rotation peripheral surface of the driven side rotation member. Plural seal rings each formed in an annular shape are positioned between the rotation peripheral surface of the driven side rotation member and the fixed peripheral surface of the fixed member, the seal rings positioned spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance. The seal ring sandwiched between two of a communication portion for advanced angle, a communication portion for retarded angle, and a communication portion for lock in a direction of the rotational axis among the plural seal rings includes a communication passage which establishes constant communication between both sides thereof in association with the direction of the rotational axis when temperature of the pressurized fluid is within a temperature range which allows a control of the rotational phase of the driven side rotation member.

Variable valve timing control apparatus
