An impeller in a centrifugal fan includes a support portion having a cylindrical outer circumferential surface coaxial or substantially coaxial with a center axis and a plurality of moving blades arranged on the outer circumferential surface of the support portion independently of one another and configured to draw an air along the center axis and expel the air radially outwards when rotated about the center axis together with the support portion. At least one of the moving blades includes a first blade portion connected to, and extending radially outwards from, the outer circumferential surface of the support portion, at least one second blade portion having a radial inner end portion radially spaced apart from the outer circumferential surface of the support portion and a connecting member arranged to interconnect the first blade portion and the second blade portion.

Impeller and centrifugal fan

A centrifugal fan includes a motor having an impeller and a housing for accommodating the motor. The housing has a sidewall surrounding an outer circumference of the impeller. An air inlet is formed in the housing and opposed to a center portion of the impeller. An air outlet is formed in the sidewall of the housing and opposed to an outer surface of the impeller. The housing includes a housing body and a housing cover. The housing body has a bottom with the motor secured thereon. The housing cover, formed by a pressed metal member, has an upper part and a cover sidewall extending from the upper part toward the bottom of the housing body and forming at least a part of the sidewall of the housing.

Centrifugal fan

An arrangement of a low air inlet and a circuit for driving a torque generator in an ultra-compact centrifugal fan is disclosed. In the ultra-compact centrifugal fan, a region occupied by the circuit is not completely arranged radially inside a cup-shaped portion to which an impeller is attached. At least a part of the low air inlet provided on a bottom of a housing of the centrifugal fan is arranged in a range of predetermined angle in an imaginary ring-shaped portion surrounding a base portion covered by the cup-shaped portion. A part of the circuit, that is not covered by the cup-shaped portion, is arranged upstream of the range of the predetermined angle in a flowing direction of airflow.

In manufacturing of the stator unitaccording to one preferred embodiment of the present invention, a plurality of terminal pins are arranged in an axially spaced manner from a plurality of the coils during a twining process of the wires from the coilsto the terminal pins. Then, after the wire is twined to the terminal pins, the terminal pins connected to the coils are moved along the outer side face of the sleeve housing, functioning to as a guide portionfor the terminal pins. By virtue of the configuration, the terminal pinsmay be approximated to the coils without applying the tension on wire, and the stator unit may be made thin with preventing the open circuit of the wires.

Method of manufacturing stator unit, and motor using the stator

A tiny-diameter, lengthwise extensive impeller utilized in an ultra-small centrifugal fan is molded by an injection molding operation. In order to avert difficulties attendant on injection-molding ultra-miniature parts, the thickness and length of a reinforcing ring on the tip of the impeller are set to within predetermined ranges. Further, the thickness of each of the vanes that constitute the impeller is made maximum where they join to the impeller ring section.

Centrifugal-fan impeller, and method of its manufacture

A centrifugal fan comprises an impeller, a motor which is connected and rotates the impeller and a housing which has an intake and an air blowing port for housing the impeller. The impeller has a plurality of blades arranged on a circumference. The intake opens opposed to the right end (in FIG.) of the impeller. The air blowing port opens opposed to a side of the impeller. A gap enlarged portion, in which the distance between the outer circumference of the impeller and the inner face of the housing starts to increase at a point where the distance between the outer circumferential of the impeller and the surface of a nose portion is smallest therein, the nose portion being a region of the vicinity of an edge portion of the air blowing port, the edge portion being the closest side to the outer circumference of the impeller.

Slim-profile centrifugal fan made up of a housing, a motor component, and a airflow-generating component. A disk portion, a cylindrical portion, a plurality of posts, and a plurality of blades compose the airflow-generating component. The plurality of posts project from, and are arranged at a predetermined circumferential spacing along, the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion; and each of the plurality of blades is provided on a respective one of the posts. The posts are of sufficiently greater thickness than the blades. Accordingly, air spaces are formed in between the posts and the blades, yet the blades are retained firmly on the cylindrical portion by the posts.
