Provided is a vehicle front structure capable of, without breaking a lid provided at a thermal insulating cover, reliably closing a bonnet and the lid even if an attempt is made to close the bonnet prior to closing the lid. Vehicle front structure

A vehicle front structure includes, below a bonnet (), a cover member () that covers an engine from an upper portion thereof to the side and is formed by an upper wall (), a shroud () as a front wall, a rear wall (), and side walls () on the respective left and right sides. The cover member is formed by the upper wall, the front wall, the rear wall, and the side walls on the respective left and right sides. The front side of one of the left and right side walls is configured to have, relative to the rear side, a higher ratio of a low-rigidity member having lower rigidity than a high-rigidity member forming a main portion on the rear side.

A vehicle includes an engine, an engine cover, and a cross component. The engine cover has a through-hole through which the cross component passes. The cross component is a flexible hose or a flexible pipe in which a body part extending in a cross direction is integrated with a diameter enlarged part having a diameter larger than the body part. The outer peripheral part of the diameter enlarged part makes close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the through-hole of the engine cover.

Air intake structure for vehicle

A vehicle is provided, which includes an engine bay having an upper wall, side walls, a front wall, and a rear wall, an engine disposed inside the engine bay, and a dedicated heat retention member provided inside the engine bay, the dedicated heat retention member comprising an upper lid part covering the engine from above to be openable and closable, and side-wall parts covering a side of the engine. A portion of the side-wall parts is comprised of an engine mount bracket configured to support mounts of the engine, instead of the dedicated heat retention member.

Engine heat retention structure

A heat insulating structure of an internal combustion engine (engine) includes a cylinder-head-side heat insulating cover () and a cylinder-block-side heat insulating cover (). Each of the first side walls () of the cylinder-head-side heat insulating cover () is disposed outwardly of, and is spaced apart from, a corresponding one of the second side walls () of the cylinder-block-side heat insulating cover () in the width direction of the vehicle. The lower edge of each of the first side walls () is positioned below the upper edge of the corresponding one of the second side walls () to overlap with the corresponding one of the second side walls () when viewed from the side of the vehicle.

Heat insulating structure for internal combustion engine

A vehicle is provided, which includes an engine bay having an upper wall, side walls, a front wall, and a rear wall, an engine disposed inside the engine bay, an upper lid part disposed inside the engine bay and covering the engine from above, a shroud disposed inside the engine bay and formed in a frame shape having an opening disposed forward of the engine, and a grille shutter provided to the shroud and configured to open and close the opening. A front end of the upper lid part is placed on an upper side of the shroud, and the grille shutter is closed when an ignition is off.

A heat insulating cover (cylinder-head-side heat insulating cover ()) includes a top wall () and first side walls (). The top wall () covers a top surface of an engine () that is a surface of an upper portion of the engine (). The first side walls () cover respective upper portions of both side surfaces of the engine () in a vehicle width direction. A portion of the heat insulating cover closer to the rear of the vehicle is provided with a hinge mechanism () vertically rotatably supporting the upper portion of the heat insulating cover including the top wall (). The upper portion of the heat insulating cover can be rotated, with the hinge mechanism () as a fulcrum, between a closed position where the engine () is shielded and an open position where the engine () is visible.

Attachment structure for heat insulating cover

An automotive engine is generally provided with an exhaust gas pipe assembly extending generally rearwardly from the engine for discharging exhaust gases. The exhaust gas pipe assembly includes a plurality of exhaust gas pipes, at least one chamber formed intermediately of the exhaust gas pipe assembly, a first support member disposed in the proximity of the engine, and at least one second support member disposed in the proximity of the chamber. The first support member can effectively absorb relative displacement between the exhaust gas pipe assembly and the vehicle body in a direction transversely of the vehicle body whereas the second support member can effectively absorb relative displacement between the exhaust gas pipe assembly and the vehicle body in a direction longitudinally of the vehicle body. The exhaust gas pipe assembly further includes a dynamic damper disposed in the proximity of the second support member for reducing vibration of the exhaust gas pipe assembly in directions generally perpendicular to the direction longitudinally of the vehicle body.

Exhaust gas pipe assembly for an automotive engine

Each cylinder bank of a V-type engine is provided with a plurality of cylinders which are not in sequence in firing order. A collecting intake passage is connected to each of the cylinders of both banks by way of independent intake passages which pass between the two banks and have the same effective channel length, and each of the independent intake passages is arranged so that it extends substantially perpendicularly and upwardly from a cylinder. Both collecting intake passages are arranged above one of the cylinder banks, and the collecting intake passage which is connected to a cylinder of the other cylinder bank is arranged on the independent intake passages connected to the other collecting intake passage. By doing so, overlapping of both collecting intake passages can be avoided and thus the height of the intake system can be reduced. The independent intake passages and the collecting intake passage which overlaps the former have a common wall. In one embodiment, each of the collecting intake passages is formed integrally with a high speed intake passage and a low speed intake passage. The vertical positions of the high speed intake passages for each bank are varied. The high speed rear side intake passage is connected to the underside of the low speed rear side intake passage. The low speed and high speed front side intake passages are connected to each other by way of a common side wall.

Intake system for V-type engine

In a V-type engine, the cylinders in one of the cylinder banks are connected to a first communicating passage and the cylinders in the other cylinder bank are connected to a second communicating passage. The cylinders in each cylinder bank do not fire one after another. First and second intake air supply passages are connected to the first and second communicating passages at positions near one end of the communicating passages and extend toward the respective other ends of the communicating passages just above the communicating passages.
