A printing plate holding apparatus is provided which during a high speed printing operation reduces vibrations and noises caused in a groove for having a grip leading end and a grip trailing end of a printing plate inserted therein, which can fasten the printing plate with greater certainty, and which is suitable for the printing plate to be held securely on such as a sleeve cylinder whose weight reduction is demanded. It is a printing plate holding apparatus in which a printing platewound on a plate cylinderis to be held securely thereon in a rotary press, the apparatus having a plate insertion grooveformed on an outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinderand extending axially of the plate cylinderfor receiving a grip leading endand a grip trailing endof the printing plate, and comprising a printing plate retainer plateand a tap boltfor bringing both widthwise lateral end portions of the grip leading and trailing endsandof the printing plate into overlapping each other in the plate insertion grooveand for pressing and fastening them against a constraint surfacewith which the grip trailing endis in contact, in the plate insertion groove

Printing plate holding apparatus

A printing cylinder assembly for a printing machine includes a rotating shaft pivotally supported at one axial end shaft section thereof in a cantilever structure, and a sleeve cylinder removably mounted on the rotating shaft so that the cylinder can be fitted on and extracted from the rotating shaft from the other axial end side of the rotating shaft. The rotating shaft is formed at one axial end side thereof with a sleeve cylinder supporting tapered surface, and the sleeve cylinder is formed at one axial end side of an inner diameter portion thereof with a tapered surface, whereby the tapered surface of the sleeve cylinder can be fitted on and in close contact with the sleeve cylinder supporting tapered surface of the rotating shaft and thereby detachably coupling one axial end portion of the sleeve cylinder with one axial end portion of the rotating shaft.

Printing cylinder assembly for a printing machine

A variable printing machine for printing images different in top-bottom length with a plate and a blanket cylinder changed in diameter, is provided in which the plate and blanket cylinders and an impression cylinder can be brought into a proper state of contact with one another. Variable printing machine

A printing cylinder assembly for a printing machine having a sleeve cylinder which can be simply coupled to and decoupled from a rotating shaft and which can be exchanged easily. The sleeve cylinder is mounted to fit on the rotating shaft so that it can be fitted on, and be extracted from, the rotating shaft, constituting a printing cylinder. The rotating shaft is provided with a cam shaft and a coupling member that constitutes a coupling mechanism. In a coupling and a decoupling state which the coupling mechanism comes into, rotations of the cam shaft cause the coupling member to couple and decouple the sleeve cylinder to and from the rotating shaft when the coupling member is diametrically urged against, and parted from, the inner diametric surface of the sleeve cylinder, respectively.
