An grain-oriented electrical steel sheet according to the present invention includes: a base steel sheet; an oxide layer that is formed on the base steel sheet and is formed of amorphous SiO; and a tension-insulation coating that is formed on the oxide layer. The base steel sheet includes, as a chemical composition, by mass %, C: 0.085% or less, Si: 0.80% to 7.00%, Mn: 1.00% or less, acid-soluble Al: 0.065% or less, Seq represented by S+0.406·Se: 0.050% or less, and a remainder consisting of Fe and unavoidable impurities. FWHM that is a half width of a peak of cristobalite type aluminum phosphate obtained by X-ray diffraction satisfies (i) when X-ray diffraction is performed using a Co-Kα excitation source, a half width (FWHM-Co) of a peak appearing at 2θ=24.8° is 2.5 degree or less, or (ii) when X-ray diffraction is performed using a Cu-Kα excitation source, a half width (FWHM-Cu) of a peak appearing at 2θ=21.3° is 2.1 degree or less.

Grain-oriented electrical steel sheet

Grain-oriented electrical steel sheet and its method of manufacture are provided. The method includes a process of heating to 1280° C. or more and hot rolling a slab containing, by mass %, Bi and a predetermined composition of constituents and having a balance of Fe and impurities to obtain hot rolled steel sheet. After hot rolling annealing, the hot rolled steel sheet is cold rolled one time or more with process annealing performed interposed so as to obtain cold rolled steel sheet, followed by a process of rapidly heating then decarburization annealing the steel sheet, a process of coating the surface of the cold rolled steel sheet after decarburization annealing with an annealing separator comprising sulfates or sulfides and having MgO as its main constituent, then performing finish annealing, a process of performing strictly controlled finish annealing, and a process of coating an insulating coating, then performing flattening annealing.

A predetermined steel containing Te: 0.0005 mass % to 0.0050 mass % is heated to 1320&#xb0; C. or lower to be subjected to hot rolling, and is subjected to annealing, cold rolling, decarburization annealing, and nitridation annealing, and thereby a decarburized nitrided steel sheet is obtained. A method according to the present invention has: isolating, by extraction, particles contained in a metal material to be analyzed in a solution using a particle isolator; dispersing the particles isolated by extraction into a solvent to prepare a dispersion, and fractionating the dispersion into a plurality of particle dispersions based on particle sizes, using a field flow fractionator; and irradiating laser light on each of the particle dispersions separated based on predetermined particle sizes, to thereby measure absolute values of the particle size based on angular dependence of reflection intensity, and also to thereby measure the number density based on magnitude of reflection intensity.

Grain-oriented electrical steel sheet excellent in coating adhesion is provided. The steel sheet contains Si: 2 to 7% mass % and has a primary coating composed mainly of forsterite on its surface.
