Buckle

A buckle (10) comprises a plug (11) and a socket (12) releasably engageable with the plug (11). The socket (12) includes a socket body (21) having an opening (28) formed in its front end, and a pair of catch plates (22, 22) pivotally mounted at their respective middles on the opposite sides of the socket body (21) and each having at its front end an engaging prong (37, 37) and its rear end an abutment (38, 38). The plug (11) includes a plug proper (14) having a shank (14'), a plug head (16) formed contiguously to the front end of the shank (14') and having on its opposed sides a pair of engaging shoulders (17, 17) and means (19a, 19b) provided on the front end of the plug head (16) for, when the plug proper (14) is fully forced into the socket body (21), urging the abutments (38, 38) outwardly apart from each other so that the catch plates (22, 22) rotate in the direction to bring their engaging prongs (37, 37) into catching engagement with the engaging shoulders (17, 17) of the plug proper (14).

Buckle for connecting two straps or the like

A low-profile buckle includes a flat one-piece socket member molded of synthetic resin and including a top plate having a resilient locking wing engageable with locking feet of a pair of flat legs of a planar plug member to interlock the plug and socket members, and a back plate having a resilient presser flap adapted to be manually depressed to urge the resilient locking wing to resiliently flex out of engagement with the locking feet to disengage the plug and socket members.

Plug and socket buckle assembly

A buckle comprising a male member and a female member releasably engageable therewith, the female member including a pair of resilient arms serving as a release lever and a pair of inwardly directed flanges. The resilient arms each have a stop finger normally spaced apart from but abuttingly engageable with the flange when lateral pull is exerted upon the release lever.

Snap Buckle

A pair of snappingly engageable members of identical shape each comprising a base having a pair of male snap legs disposed on one surface thereof in spaced confronting relation to each other, the male snap legs having bulging portions, respectively, projecting laterally away from each other, and a pair of female snap legs disposed on said one surface in spaced confronting relation to each other, the female snap legs having a pair of locking portions, respectively, projecting laterally toward each other, the bulging portions and the locking portions having longitudinal ends confronting each other. When the snappingly engageable members are put together, the male snap legs on the base of one of the snappingly engageable members snappingly engage the female snap legs on the base of the other snappingly engageable member, and the female snap legs on the base of said one snappingly engageable member snappingly engage the male snap legs on the base of the other snappingly engageable member.

A buckle includes a base consisting of a base plate having an open hole formed therein on the longitudinal one end side thereof and opposite guide grooves formed therein on both sides thereof, a socket consisting of a plate-shaped body having a projection with an aperture formed integrally therewith on an opposite end to a belt connecting portion thereof, the projection being fitted in the hole formed in the base plate, and a plug consisting of a plate-shaped base body adapted to be slidably moved along the guide grooves of the base and having resilient pieces formed one end thereof and engaged with the aperture of the socket in snap-fit fashion and disengaged therefrom, wherein the resistance to sliding of the plug on the base becomes large when the resilient pieces of the plug are located out of the hole formed in the base plate.

Buckle assembly

A buckle includes a male member having a tongue-shaped presser having on its lower side a pair of engaging legs and a female member including in its upper side an aperture for insertion of the engaging legs, and a pair of transversely spaced resilient arms adapted for angular movement around their proximal ends against their own resiliency, the arms having on their middles engaging means for engagement with the engaging legs when the engaging legs are forced through an aperture. Uncoupling means are rotatably mounted on the upper side of the female member and so operatively linked with the free ends of the resilient arms that the rotation of the uncoupling means causes the resilient arms angularly move against their own resiliency, thereby bringing the engaging means out of engagement with the engaging legs.

A strap adjustment assembly generally comprises an open or hollow connector frame integrally molded of synthetic resin and a strap retainer integrally molded of synthetic resin and assembled in the hollow connector frame. The hollow connector frame includes a grip base having a strap bearing surface, a pair of spaced legs extending from the grip base and having a pair of oblong slots, respectively, and a connecting bar joining the legs remotely from the grip base by a distance. The strap retainer includes a central strap engagement portion, and a pair of arms extending from the central strap engagement portion and being non-rotatably loosely fitted in the slots, respectively. The central strap engagement portion has a strap pressing surface for frictionally pressing a strap end portion against the strap bearing surface. The strap pressing surface is transversely spaced from the arms at least by said distance. The connector frame and the strap retainer are simultaneously molded in an assembled condition.

Strap adjustment assembly

A buckle assembly composed of three components, i.e. a retainer base, a plug and a socket for releasably connecting three belts or straps. The retainer base has an aperture for receiving therein an upstanding generally C-shaped locking lug to connect the retainer base and the socket. The plug is slidably mounted on the retainer base and having a pair of resilient legs snappingly engageable with the locking lug to releasably couple the retainer base and the socket. With this construction, the buckle assembly can be assembled easily without a tedious and time consuming positional adjustment between the plug and the socket. The snap-fit between the resilient legs and the locking lug insures a firm coupling engagement between the retainer base and the socket.

A buckle comprises a base plate, a locking hook, and a retainer which are simultaneously molded of polymeric organic synthetis resin. The base plate includes a pair of spaced support members having respective bearing holes and respective ridges on inner surfaces thereof. Similarly, the retainer includes a pair of spaced support members having respective bearing holes and respective ridges on inner surfaces thereof. The locking hook has pairs of support shafts on opposite ends thereof which are angularly movably fitted in the bearing holes of the base plate and the retainer. The locking hook also has a pair of legs on the opposite ends thereof, the legs having respective successions of teeth at their respective distal edges and opposite ends engageable with the ridges on the support members of the base plate and the retainer.

Buckle of synthetic resin

A buckle comprises a male member having a tongue-shaped presser having on its bottom side a pair of engaging legs each having on its inner side a stepped portion and a female member in the form of a case having in its top wall a central aperture, the female member having a pair of resilient arms, one mounted on each side thereof, each resilient arm extending from one end of the female member and terminating in a free end portion for resilient angular movement about its proximal end, each free end portion having on its inner side a hook-shaped engaging means adapted for engagement with the stepped portion of the corresponding engaging leg when the engaging legs are forced into the central aperture. The tongue-shaped presser further has on its bottom side a pair of resilient pieces. The free end portions further have on their respective inner sides abutment portions adapted to compress the distal portions of the resilient pieces against the resiliency thereof as the resilient arms are angularly moved in the direction to bring the hook-shaped engaging means out of engagement with the stepped portion of the engaging legs.

A swivel hook assembly for attachment to a carrying strap of a bag, for example, includes a connector, an elongate support rotatably mounted on the connector, and a hook mounted on the elongate support. The connector, the support and the hook are all molded of synthetic resin. The hook has a head rotatably fitted in a central hole defined in the support and locked against removal therefrom. The connector and the support are simultaneously molded in a single step of molding operation in an assembled condition. The hook may be molded integrally with the support. The swivel hook assembly is composed of a relatively reduced number of parts, can be assembled easily and less costly, and may be colored to meet user's various preferences for fashionable color combinations.

Swivel joint assembly

A buckle assembly includes a socket member and a plug member adapted to be releasably coupled with the socket member. The socket member includes a resilient locking arm releasable engageable with a pair of locking legs of the plug member when the locking legs are inserted into the socket member. The plug member includes a resilient tongue disposed between the locking legs and lying in a plane extending above the locking legs. The socket member includes a resilient flap disposed above the locking arm and having on its inner surface a presser lug engageable with the resilient tongue to flex the latter downwardly, and a releasing lug engageable with the locking arm to flex the latter downwardly for disengaging the latter from the locking legs. Upon this disengagement, the resilient tongue flips resiliently upwardly back to its initial flat position, in which instance a beveled upper surface of the resilient tongue slides up a rounded edge of the presser lug, affording a moment to urge the plug member to spring out from the socket member.

A buckle assembly composed of three components, i.e. a socket, a main plug and an auxiliary plug for releasably connecting three straps or belts. The socket includes a cantilevered resilient locking arm interlockingly engageable with a resilient locking tongue of the main plug when the locking tongue is received in a guide chamber in the socket to thereby couple the socket and the main plug. The auxiliary plug is slidably mounted on the main plug and having two resilient, inwardly deformable locking legs snappingly engageable with respective retaining projections of the socket when the locking legs are received in the guide chamber. The auxiliary plug further includes a resilient releasing leg extending parallel to the locking legs and having a releasing cam projection engageable with the resilient locking arm to flex the latter outwardly away from the guide chamber for releasing the locking arm from interlocking engagement with the locking tongue, thereby uncoupling the main plug and the socket.

A swivel joint includes a central member having a joint barrel having a first insertion hole and a second insertion hole parallel thereto, a slot communicating with the first insertion hole, a pair of first confronting inner surfaces defining the first insertion hole and having a pair of first locking ledges respectively, and a pair of second confronting inner surfaces defining the second insertion hole and having a pair of second locking ledges, the first inner surfaces including respective slanted surfaces slanted progressively inwardly toward each other. A retainer member includes a retainer fitted in the slot and a pair of first resilient legs projecting from the retainer and inserted in the first insertion hole. The first resilient legs having respective first locking fingers engaging the first locking ledges, respectively, and slidable respectively on the slanted surfaces under resiliency of the first resilient legs. A hook member has a hook and a pair of second resilient legs projecting from the hook and inserted in the second insertion hole, the second resilient legs having respective second locking fingers engaging the second locking ledges, respectively.
