An image forming apparatus includes an imaging assembly capable of forming an image on a copy sheet; a sheet inverting path disposed downstream of the image assembly and capable of transporting the copy sheet in a first direction; an intermediate tray unit arranged downstream of the sheet inverting path and capable of receiving the copy sheet transferred from the sheet inverting path and stacking a plurality of the copy sheets thereon; and a refeed unit capable of feeding copy sheets stacked on the intermediate tray unit in a second direction opposite to the first direction.

An electrostatic copying apparatus includes a lower supporting frame, an upper supporting frame mounted on the lower supporting frame for pivotal movement between an open position and a closed position, a document placing assembly having a transparent plate for placing a document to be copied thereon, an optical unit and a driving source. Either the document placing assembly or at least a part of the optical unit is mounted reciprocally on the upper supporting frame and drivingly coupled to the driving source via a power transmission mechanism. The apparatus further includes an automatic locking device for automatically locking the document placing assembly or at least a part of the optical unit and cancelling the locking according to an operation of moving the upper supporting frame to an open or closed position or an operation incident to this moving operation.

Electrostatic copying apparatus

An electrostatic copying apparatus comprising a lower supporting frame, an upper supporting frame mounted on the lower supporting frame for pivotal movement between an open position and a closed position, a document placing means having a transparent plate for placing a document to be copied thereon, an optical unit and a driving source. An electromagnetically controlled spring clutch mechanism for selectively connecting drivingly a first rotating element and a second rotating element. The spring clutch mechanism comprises a rotating shaft, a rotor adapted to be rotated as a unit with the rotating shaft, an armature assembly including an armature member, a supporting member and a biasing spring member disposed between the armature member and the supporting member, an electromagnetic device for magnetically attracting the armature member to the rotor, a first boss member adapted to rotate as a unit with the rotating shaft, a second boss member adapted to rotate as a unit with the second rotating element, and a coil spring wound in a predetermined direction and received about, and spanning, the first and second boss members. Also provided is a composite magnetically controlled spring clutch assembly for selectively connecting drivingly an input rotating element rotated in a predetermined direction to an output rotating element to rotate the output rotating element selectively in the predetermined direction or in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction, which is composed of two electromagnetically controlled spring clutch mechanisms of the first-mentioned type.

A vibration damper assembly, a damper cover being divided into a pair of outer peripheral first covers and a pair of inner peripheral second covers, a first hub being arranged in between said first covers at an input side and the first hub being fixed to the second covers, an output-side second hub being arranged between said second covers, the first covers and the first hub being so coupled that a torque is transmissible between them through the means of a first-stage elastic means, the second covers and the second hub being so coupled that a torque is transmissible between them through the means of a second-stage elastic means, and a friction material being arranged in both or either of between the first covers and the first hub and/or between the second covers and the second hub.

Vibration damper assembly

A display for a copying apparatus includes a display element for indicating the operating conditions of the copying apparatus. The display has a number of detectors for detecting each of a group of operating conditions and an energizer for energizing the display element in response to the outputs from the detectors. The display element operates with a predetermined on-period and a predetermined off-period for each corresponding detector. The display is capable of displaying a group of operating conditions by a single display element through a group of display conditions such as being on, being off and blinking.
