A vehicle control system configured to reduce physical stress on a driver to operate an accelerator pedal without reducing acceleration feel. The vehicle control system selects a first driving force property if an estimated stress on an ankle is less than a threshold value, and selects a second driving force property if the estimated stress on the ankle is greater than the threshold value to reduce the stress on the ankle. When the second driving force property is selected, a target driving force is reduced less than a target driving force calculated based on the first driving force property. In this case, the vehicle control system reduces a difference between: a ratio of acceleration to a pedal force given that the first driving force property is selected; and a ratio of acceleration to the pedal force given that the second driving force property is selected.

Vehicle control system

A hybrid vehicle in which a running mode can be appropriately shifted without making a driver feel uncomfortable or feel a sense of slowness. A hybrid vehicle includes an engine, a first motor, a second motor, and a clutch that selectively transmits power between the engine and drive wheels. A controller shifts a running mode to the parallel hybrid vehicle mode in a case of accelerating the hybrid vehicle in the electric vehicle mode, if the drive force is greater than a maximum drive force generatable in the electric vehicle mode, and also greater than a required additional drive force as a variable corresponding to a running resistance against the hybrid vehicle running on a predetermined running road at a predetermined vehicle speed by a predetermined drive force that is set in advance based on the vehicle speed and the drive force.

Control system for hybrid vehicle operable in different modes

A drive force control system for a vehicle having a motor and a battery that allows a driver to sense a satisfactory acceleration even if an output torque of a motor is restricted. The drive force control system comprises a controller that calculates an upper limit acceleration of the vehicle based on an upper limit power to be supplied from the battery to the motor. The controller sets a reference jerk as the required jerk when the upper limit acceleration is equal to or greater than the target acceleration, and sets a corrected jerk that is greater than the reference jerk as the required jerk when the upper limit acceleration is less than the target acceleration.

Drive force control system for vehicle

A shift control device for establishing a desired gear stage promptly while reducing a shock, during propulsion while disengaging all of engagement devices of a transmission. The shift control system compares a target stage set based on an operating data to an interim stage set based on the operating data immediately before the target stage is set. If the target stage is lower than the initial stage the engagement devices are engaged to establish the target stage without establishing the initial stage.

Shift control system for vehicle

A vehicle control system to reduce shocks under an autonomous mode is provided. The vehicle control system is configured to select an operating mode of a vehicle from a manual mode in which a driving force and a braking force are controlled manually by a driver, and an autonomous mode in which the driving force and the braking force are controlled autonomously. A controller is configured to execute a fuel cut-off control, and a threshold selected under the autonomous mode is set in such a manner as to terminate the fuel cut-off control earlier than under the manual mode.

A vehicle control system is provided to ensure acceleration response while improving energy efficiency in an autonomous vehicle in which an operating mode is selected from an autonomous mode and a manual mode. A switching device is disposed between a motor and drive wheels to switch a driving mode between a direct drive mode and a differential drive mode. A controller executes a motor-idling control to keep a speed of the motor to a standby speed during propulsion in a motor-standby mode. The controller is configured to select a first standby speed of a motor idling control in a case that the vehicle is propelled in the manual mode, and to select a second standby speed that is lower than the first standby speed in a case that the vehicle is propelled in the autonomous mode.

A vehicle control system configured to suppress engine noise in an autonomous mode is provided. An operating mode of the vehicle can be switched between a manual mode in which a driving force and a braking force of the vehicle are controlled by a manual operation and an autonomous mode in which the driving force and the braking force of the vehicle are controlled autonomously. The vehicle control system is configured to shift an upshifting point for reducing a speed ratio of a transmission to a low speed side in the autonomous mode, in comparison with the upshifting point set in the manual mode.

A vehicle control system is provided to improve energy efficiency of a vehicle that can be operated not only manually but also autonomously. The vehicle control system is configured to deliver oil to an oil requiring site in a first feeding amount under the manual mode, and to deliver oil to the oil requiring site in a second feeding amount that is smaller than the first feeding amount during propulsion under the autonomous mode in line with a travel plan. When a required amount of oil delivered to the oil requiring site is expected to be increased based on the travel plan under the autonomous mode, the controller increases an oil feeding amount to the oil requiring site from the second feeding amount.

A vehicle control system to prevent a vehicle stopped in the autonomous mode from being started undesirably is provided. The vehicle control system is configured to select an operating mode from an autonomous mode and a manual mode, and to select a drive range from a drivable range and a non-drivable range. A controller is configured to detect a fact that a door is opened, that a door lock is unlocked, or that a seatbelt is unfastened. If at least any of those facts is detected, the controller shifts the drive range to the non-drivable range or shifts the operating mode to the manual mode.

A slippage detection system for a continuously variable transmission capable of continuously changing a ratio between a speed of rotation of an input member and a speed of rotation of an output member is provided. The slippage detection system calculates a correlation coefficient relating to the input rotation speed and the output rotation speed, based on a plurality of measurement values of the input rotation speed and a plurality of measurement values of the output rotation speed, and determines slippage of the torque transmitting member in the continuously variable transmission based on the calculated correlation coefficient.

Slippage detection system and method for continuously variable transmissions

A control system of a power transmission mechanism, in which a transmission torque capacity between transmission members varies according to a pressure to be applied to the transmission members and in which the pressure to be applied to the transmission members is controlled on the basis of such a slip condition between the transmission members as accompanies the lowering of the pressure. The control system comprises: a pressure lowering device for lowering the pressure by a preset value; and a pressure setter for setting the pressure, in case the slip between the transmission members is not detected even by lowering the pressure by a preset value with the pressure lowering device, on the basis of the lowered minimum value of the pressure.

A control apparatus for a power train including a continuously variable transmission and a clutch arranged in series with the continuously variable transmission is provided in which an engaging pressure of the clutch is first reduced until a slip occurs, and is then increased after detection of the slip so as to re-engage the clutch, and an engaging pressure of the clutch to be established is calculated by giving an excess pressure to the engaging pressure at which the clutch is re-engaged, such that an excess amount of the transmitted torque of the clutch is set smaller than that of the continuously variable transmission. The control apparatus is adapted to determine a learned value as a correction value of the engaging pressure that is set in advance in accordance with an input torque applied to the clutch, based on the engaging pressure calculated by giving the excess pressure to the engaging pressure at which the clutch is re-engaged.
