An optical multiplexer includes a plurality of light sources that emit a plurality of laser beams having different wavelengths, a collimator that collimates a plurality of laser beams emitted from a plurality of light sources, and a diffraction grating that diffracts a plurality of laser beams collimated by the collimator and emits a plurality of laser beams along a same optical path, the diffraction grating being of a transmission-type. A plurality of light sources are linearly arranged on an incident side focal plane of the collimator, a grating surface of the diffraction grating is disposed on an emission side focal plane of the collimator, and distance D between two adjacent light sources is set to satisfy D=f×(λ−λ)/p, where λ, λ(λ>λ) are respectively wavelengths of laser beams emitted from the two adjacent light sources.

Optical multiplexer

A light refraction member includes an incident surface on which planar light is incident, a plurality of refractors that refract the planar light, and an emitting surface from which the planar light refracted by the plurality of refractors is emitted as emitted light. The plurality of refractors are provided side by side in a first direction on at least one of the incident surface and the emitting surface, and each of the plurality of refractors has an area in which a direction in which the planar light is refracted changes along a second direction intersecting the first direction.

A surface light-emitting device includes a plurality of light sources, a light guide that guides light emitted from the plurality of light sources, and a controller that controls turn-on operations of the plurality of light sources. The light guide includes a plurality of light controllers on which the light from the plurality of light sources are incident. The plurality of light controllers are disposed side by side in a first direction intersecting optical axes of the plurality of light controllers, the plurality of light sources include a first light source and a second light source, the first light source is disposed on one of the optical axes of the plurality of light controllers, the second light source is disposed at a position away from the optical axes of the plurality of light controllers, and the controller turns on at least one of the first light source and the second light source.

Surface light-emitting device, display device, and illumination device

An optical system includes a light guide member having an incident surface, a first surface and a light emergent surface; and at least one prism provided on the first surface and configured to reflect light received by the incident surface and travelling inside the light guide member, towards the light emergent surface. The light guide member provides an optical path along which the light that has entered through the incident surface is directly reflected from the prism and allowed to emerge from the light emergent surface. The light guide member also provides another optical path along which the light that has entered through the incident surface is once reflected from the second surface, reflected again from the prism, and then allowed to emerge from the light emergent surface. The optical system is configured to be coupled to a light source, to illuminate a display system which projects a virtual image onto a target space.

Optical system

An optical system includes a light guide member having a light incident surface, a first surface, and a light emergent surface facing the first surface; and a prism provided in the first surface for reflecting light passing inside the light guide member towards the light emergent surface. The light guide member includes a direct optical path, along which the light that has entered the light guide member through the incident surface is directly reflected from the prism and allowed to emerge from the light emergent surface. At least one of the first surface or the light emergent surface includes a luminous intensity distribution control member configured to control a luminous intensity distribution of light to be extracted from the light emergent surface. The luminous intensity distribution control member includes a Fresnel lens.

An optical system includes a light guide member having a light-incident surface, a first surface, a light-emitting surface facing the first surface, a first end surface, a second end surface, a plurality of collimating lenses disposed on the light-incident surface and being arranged along a first direction, and a plurality of prism pieces. The plurality of prism pieces include two or more prism pieces having different inclination angles with respect to the light-incident surface depending on positions of the prism pieces in at least the first direction, and each of the inclination angles of the two or more prism pieces is an angle formed between the first direction and the longitudinal axis of a corresponding prism piece. Each of the inclination angles of the two or more prism pieces increases as the corresponding prism piece is positioned closer to any of the first end surface or the second end surface.

Lightguide lighting system for display system

An optical multiplexer includes: an incident surface on which incident light beams having different wavelengths are to be incident; a reflection portion configured to reflect the incident light beams; and an emission surface configured to emit reflected light beams reflected by the reflection portion. The incident surface has adjacent condenser lenses corresponding to the respective incident light beams. The reflection portion has adjacent reflection surfaces configured to reflect the respective incident light beams which have been condensed. The adjacent reflection surfaces are respectively disposed so that angle &#x3b2; formed by the respective reflected light beams reflected by the adjacent reflection surfaces is smaller than angle &#x3b1; formed by the respective incident light beams which have been condensed. The emission surface has diffraction grating in which the respective reflected light beams reflected by the adjacent reflection surfaces are to be incident at a same position and diffracted in a same direction.

Optical multiplexer and image projection apparatus using the same

Light emitted from laser light source is divided by prism into two light flux and light flux corresponding to light emitted from slope and slope. Light flux and light flux are diffused by diffusion plate and diffusion plate to become light flux and light flux. By overlapping light flux and light flux, a radiation distribution with a wide angle and high light intensity can be obtained.

Projection device

A lighting device includes light emitting element; first lens that receives light emitted from light emitting element and emits first emission light; and second lens that receives the first emission light and emits second emission light. Second lens includes second convex incident surface receiving the first emission light, second convex emission surface that is provided on a right side of a drawing and emits the second emission light, and second top surface portion and second bottom surface portion each located between second incident surface and second emission surface. Second bottom surface portion includes first inclined surface and second inclined surface formed to be inclined with respect to an optical axis of light emitting element.

Lighting device

A lighting device includes a light emitting element; a first lens that receives light emitted from the light emitting element and emits first emission light; and a second lens that receives the first emission light and emits second emission light. The first lens has a first emission surface emitting the first emission light, the first emission surface having a convex shape protruding in a Z direction.

A display device includes light guide plate, a light source, and a concealing plate. The light guide plate propagates light incident from an incident end surface, reflects the light with a prism provided on a reflection surface, and causes the light to emit from an emission surface facing the reflection surface. The light guide plate has a plurality of inclined surfaces on a side end surface excluding an incident end surface of the light guide plate and a facing end surface facing the incident end surface, and a line segment connecting a center of sides of the plurality of inclined surfaces and a center of the light source, and the sides of the inclined surfaces are substantially perpendicular.

Display device

A display device includes a light guide plate, a first light source, a second light source, and a light transmitting portion. The light guide plate includes a first reflecting prism and a second reflecting prism. The first reflecting prism has an inclined surface that reflects the light incident from the first side surface toward the main surface. The second reflecting prism has an inclined surface that reflects the light incident from the second side surface toward the main surface. The longitudinal direction of the inclined surface of the first reflecting prism is parallel or substantially parallel to a line connecting the second light source and the inclined surface of the first reflecting prism.

A multicolor display apparatus displays a design pattern by reflecting light beams which are incident into a light guide body by arrays of fine shapes and emitting the reflected light beams from the light emission surface, in which, when it is assumed that the gradation values of red, green, blue, and white at a point where a specific color (to be displayed) of the design pattern of the light guide body is displayed using red, green, blue, and white light are set as I(r), I(g), I(b), and I(w), respectively, and when it is assumed that the gradation values of red, green, and blue in the case of displaying a color close to the specific color using only red, green, and blue light without white light are set as Ir, Ig, and Ib, respectively, the fine shapes for each of red, green, blue, and white colors have a height or a pitch which corresponds to the gradation values I(r), I(g), I(b), and I(w) as follows: I(w)=min(Ir, Ig, Ib)&#xd7;A/100; I(r)=Ir&#x2212;I(w); I(g)=Ig&#x2212;I(w); I(b)=Ib&#x2212;I(w). Here, A/100 is less than 1. Thus, it is possible to realize a beautiful white color and realize display which has high color reproducibility without influence due to a machining error and allows a user to feel beautiful.

Multicolor display apparatus and method for setting gradation value of multicolor display apparatus

A display device includes a light guide plate, and light sources allowing light to be incident on a first side surface and a second side surface of the light guide plate. First incidental side surface light from the first light source is reflected to an upper surface side by first reflection parts formed on a bottom surface to display a first pattern, and second incidental side surface light from the second light source is reflected to the upper surface side by second reflection parts formed on the bottom surface to display a second pattern. Slopes are provided at parts of the first side surface and the second side surface of the light guide plate, and light reflected on a facing reflection surface and propagating in the light guide plate again is reduced by the slopes.
