A high resolution photographed image, picked up by a camera device, is projected by using a projector. In a case where there is a magnifying operation of a display image that is projected, image data of the display image that is reduced in accordance with the resolution at the projector side, is not magnified, but the image data of a display region corresponding to the size of a requested magnification ratio in the original photographed image, is reduced, to project a magnified image that is a display image based on the image data.

A computer acquires the aspect ratio of an image and the aspect ratio of the display of a monitor and compares the aspect ratios with each other. With the aspect ratio of the monitor display taken as a reference, the computer determines which one of the vertical length and the horizontal length of the image is longer. The computer sets the magnification of the image based on the decision result in such a way that one of the vertical size and the horizontal size of the image matches with or becomes slightly smaller than the frame of the monitor display, and enlarges or reduces the image. A computer obtains a change amount of an image of a manuscript. If the change amount of the image of the manuscript is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold, the computer determines that the image has movement, such as in a case where the manuscript is replaced, and switches the resolution of the image, which is possible to shorten the processing time, to low resolution. In a case where the manuscript is placed on a base, if the change amount of the image of the manuscript is less than the predetermined threshold, and the computer determines that the image does not have movement, the computer switches the resolution of the image to high resolution.

A calligraphy/drawing camera image-captures a document and sends a resultant captured image to a personal computer (S). The personal computer applies various image processes such as correction of various deformations including a trapezoidal deformation based on image information obtained from the captured image, a rotation process, a cut out process, etc. to the captured image (Sto S). The personal computer sends the processed image to a projector (S). The projector projects the processed image on a screen (S).
