A projector according to the present disclosure includes: an illumination optical system; a separator; a first light valve; a second light valve; and a projection optical system. The illumination optical system generates illumination light. The separator separates the illumination light from the illumination optical system into first illumination light and second illumination light. The first light valve is illuminated with the first illumination light separated by the separator and generates first image light. The second light valve is illuminated with the second illumination light separated by the separator and generates second image light. The first image light generated by the first light valve and the second image light generated by the second light valve enter the projection optical system through the separator. The projection optical system projects the first image light that has entered the projection optical system toward a first display region and projects the second image light that has entered the projection optical system toward a second display region.

Projector

An imaging optical system according to the present disclosure includes a first lens, a second lens, and a third lens. The first lens includes an image-plane-side lens surface having an aspherical shape with an inflection point. The second lens has a meniscus shape including a concave surface toward object side. The third lens has a meniscus shape including a concave surface toward image plane side. The first lens, the second lens, and the third lens are disposed in order from the object side toward the image plane side. The imaging optical system is provided as a bi-telecentric optical system.

Imaging optical system and imaging apparatus

An optical system of the disclosure includes: a fluorescent unit that includes a phosphor region excited by a first color light beam to output fluorescent light including at least one color light beam, and outputs the first color light beam in a first period and outputs the fluorescent light in a second period; one or two light valves illuminated by at least one of the first color light beam or the fluorescent light; and a region division element including first and second regions and disposed on an optical path between the fluorescent unit and the one or two light valves, the first region outputting the first color light beam and the fluorescent light from the fluorescent unit to be able to reach the one or two light valves, the second region outputting the fluorescent light from the fluorescent unit to be able to reach the one or two light valves.

Optical system

An optical system includes: a first optical system including a polarization conversion element aligning a polarization direction of light including color light beams with a predetermined polarization direction, and generating illumination light including the color light beams; a first polarization rotation element disposed at a first pupil position inside the first optical system, including first and second divided regions, in which the first and second divided regions have different polarization characteristics with respect to a first color light beam outputted from the polarization conversion element; a polarizer disposed between the polarization conversion element and the first polarization rotation element, and reducing light in a polarization direction other than the predetermined polarization direction included in light outputted from the polarization conversion element; and light valves each illuminated by at least the first color light beam included in the illumination light generated by the first optical system.

Optical system with polarization elements and multiple light valves

A display unit of the present disclosure includes: a light source section that outputs light; a light uniformization section including at least one uniformization optical member and having a light entrance surface through which the light outputted from the light source section enters and a light output surface through which light is outputted; a condenser lens for the light outputted from the light uniformization section to enter; and a reflective light valve to be illuminated by light outputted from the condenser lens. A light condensing position for return light that is reflected by the light valve and returns to the light output surface of the light uniformization section via the condenser lens is configured to be located off a light condensing position of the light uniformization section on a light output surface side for the light outputted from the light source section.

Display unit for reducing degradation of optical components

A projector with a detection function according to the present disclosure includes: a projection optical system that projects image light on a projection plane; an irradiation optical system that generates an irradiation beam on the basis of light obtained from a light source, and outputs the irradiation beam, in which the irradiation beam is used for detection of a detection object on the projection plane, and the detection object is configured to be detected; an imaging device that scattered light of the irradiation beam derived from the detection object enters; and an illumination control section that performs temporal light-quantity modulation of the light obtained from the light source to cause coherence of the irradiation beam to be reduced.

Projector with detection function for stabilizing intensity distribution of an irradiation beam

A light source device of the present disclosure includes a plurality of light source sections, each light source section having at least one light source and the light source sections emitting light beams of mutually different colors, at least one light source substrate mounted with at least one light source section among the plurality of light source sections, and an optical-path combining optical system that combines optical paths of light beams emitted from the respective light source sections, in which the at least one light source section mounted on the light source substrate includes a plurality of the light sources that emits light beams of an identical color.

Projection display unit and function control method

An illumination unit includes a light source section, an optical-path branching device, a photodetector, a control section, and a light-quantity-distribution control device. The light source section includes a laser light source. The optical-path branching device outputs light incident from the light source section, by branching the light into an outgoing optical path of illumination light and other optical path. The photodetector receives a light flux that travels on the other optical path. The control section controls an emitted light quantity in the laser light source, based on a quantity of the light flux received by the photodetector. The light-quantity-distribution control device is disposed between the optical-path branching device and the photodetector on the other optical path. The light-quantity-distribution control device controls a light quantity distribution in the light flux to be incident upon the photodetector.

A display apparatus with detection function of the present disclosure includes a first illumination unit that outputs first illumination light, a light valve that generates image light by modulating the first illumination light on the basis of image data, a projection optical system that projects the image light onto a projection plane, a second illumination unit that outputs second illumination light used for position detection of a position detection object on the projection plane, a third illumination unit that outputs third illumination light used for image recognition of an image recognition object on the projection plane, an imaging unit where the second illumination light and the third illumination light enter through the projection optical system, and includes an imaging device disposed at an optically conjugate position with the light valve, and an image processing unit that performs position detection of the position detection object and image recognition of the image recognition object on the basis of a result of imaging by the imaging unit.

Display apparatus with detection function

A remote device of the disclosure includes: an exterior having a plurality of holes through which light passes, and having a structure in which a surrounding part of the holes blocks the light; a light receiver that is disposed inside the exterior, and receives signal light of one or more optical remote controls; and a light guiding section that is provided between the light receiver and a front surface of the exterior, and guides, to the light receiver, the signal light that has entered a predetermined region of the exterior. The predetermined region includes two or more of the holes.

Remote device and remote device system

A projection display unit includes a projection optical system, a polarization separation device, and a detection optical system. The projection optical system includes an illuminator, a projection lens, and a light valve. The light valve modulates illumination light supplied from the illuminator on a basis of an image signal, and outputs the modulated illumination light toward the projection lens. The polarization separation device is disposed between the light valve and the projection lens. The polarization separation device separates entering light into a first polarized component and a second polarized component, and outputs the first polarized component and the second polarized component in respective directions that are different from each other. The detection optical system includes an imaging device. The imaging device is disposed in a position that is optically conjugate to a position of the light valve, and receives, via the projection lens and the polarization separation device, light based on invisible light applied along a plane in vicinity of the projection surface. Projection display unit

A floating image display unit according to an embodiment of the technology includes an optical plate and one or a plurality of reflectors. The optical plate includes a plurality of optical elements arranged in a matrix on a substrate having a normal in a Z-axis direction, and each of the optical elements is configured to regularly reflect an entering light beam of a Z-axis direction component and recursively reflect an entering light beam of an XY-axis direction component. The one or the plurality of reflectors are configured to reflect light outputted from a light emitter or a light irradiation target object disposed on rear surface side of the optical plate, thereby causing the light to obliquely enter a rear surface of the optical plate.

Floating image display unit

A projection display unit includes a projection optical system, a polarization separation device, and a detection optical system. The projection optical system includes an illuminator, a projection lens, and a light valve that modulates illumination light supplied from the illuminator, and outputs the modulated illumination light toward the projection lens. The polarization separation device separates entering light into a first polarized component and a second polarized component, and outputs the first polarized component and the second polarized component in respective directions that are different from each other. The detection optical system includes an imaging device and a reduction optical system. The imaging device receives, via the projection lens and the polarization separation device, light based on detection invisible light. A transmittance adjuster provided between the polarization separation device and the imaging device adjusts transmittance of at least part of a bundle of passing light rays derived from the invisible light.

An illumination unit includes: a light source section including a laser light source; an optical-path branching device outputting light incident from the light source section, by branching the light into an outgoing optical path of illumination light and other optical path; a photodetector receiving a light flux that travels on the other optical path; a control section controlling an emitted light quantity in the laser light source, based on a quantity of the light flux received by the photodetector; and a light-quantity-distribution control device disposed between the optical-path branching device and the photodetector on the other optical path, the light-quantity-distribution control device controlling a light quantity distribution in the light flux to be incident upon the photodetector.
