An electric vacuum cleaner is equipped with a dust collection unit () that can be detachably installed in the air passage en route from a suction unit to an electric fan of the cleaner. The dust collection unit () comprises a dust collecting case () for accumulating dust sucked in, a lid member () that can be opened to discharge the accumulated dust; and a lock mechanism (clamp lever) () for locking the lid membertightly closed. The dust collection unit () is further provided with a hand grip (), arranged to face said user, thereby facilitating a user to hold the dust collection unit when discharging dust from the bottom of the dust collecting case. Further, a hinge () is arranged at a position which is adjacent to said bottom () of said dust collecting case () facing the user holding the hand grip. Furthermore, a lock mechanism () is arranged near the periphery of the lid member () and at a position opposite to the hinge.

Dust collection unit for electric vacuum cleaner and upright electric vacuum cleaner

An electric vacuum cleaner including a vacuum cleaner main body, a suction tool main body connected to the vacuum cleaner main body and having an suction inlet which is open at a lower surface thereof, a dust box connected to the vacuum cleaner main body, and a grip portion for operating the vacuum cleaner main body. The suction tool main body, an interior of the vacuum cleaner main body, the grip portion and the dust box are directly connected in this order such that circulation of air is permitted. The interior of the vacuum cleaner main body and the grip portion are connected in a freely attachable and detachable manner.

Electric vacuum cleaner

An electric vacuum cleaner is equipped with a dust collection unit () that can be detachably installed in the air passage en route from a suction unit to an electric fan of the cleaner. The dust collection unit () comprises a dust collecting case () for accumulating dust sucked in, a lid member () that can be opened to discharge the accumulated dust; and a lock mechanism (clamp lever) () for locking the lid membertightly closed. The electric vacuum cleaner is further provided with a lid opening mechanism (lid opening stick () for forcibly opening the lid member () in cooperation with the lock mechanism locking the lid member. Even when the sealing pressure of the packing is high or when the accumulated dust does not weigh on the lid member because the dust is compacted on the inner wall of the dust collecting case, the lid member can be opened without difficulty to discharge the dust, without opening it by hand. Thus, the user can avoid handling unsanitary dust.

Electric vacuum cleaner equipped with a dust collection unit

An upright electric cleaning device includes a floor suction tool formed with a long suction opening on the bottom surface thereof. A rotating brush holding chamber holds a rotating brush that extends to this long suction opening. A suction opening leading to the main cleaning device unit is formed toward one end of the rear wall of the rotating brush holding chamber. A rib, formed on the upper section of the rotating brush holding chamber, extends along the length of the rotating brush, near the rotation path of the rotating brush. An air current path is formed to take dust drawn up by the rotating brush and stopped by the rib and suck it into the suction opening leading to the main cleaning device unit. The air current path is shaped so that its cross section is smaller at an end of the air current path remote from the suction opening than it is near the suction opening to increase flow speed at the remote end. In one embodiment, an opening to the outside is formed at the remote end of the air current path to enhance air flow toward the suction opening. In a further embodiment, the enhanced air flow if further improved by venting exhaust air from the main cleaning device into the opening to positively improve air flow.

A dust-collecting device for a vacuum cleaner comprising a dust-collecting case which is fitted into a suction path extending from a suction nozzle to a motor fan and from which accumulated dust can be discharged by opening a bottom lid of the dust-collecting case, and a cylindrical filter fitted into the dust-collecting case. The filter is arranged to be rotatable, a spiral rib is formed at an outer periphery of the filter, and the device is equipped with a rotating means for rotating the filter. Dust which cannot be discharge by its own weight since it is in a compressed state can be pushed out through the spiral rib formed on the outer periphery of the filter by rotating the filter, so that dust accumulated within the dust-collecting case in a compressed state can be easily discharged.

Dust-collecting device for vacuum cleaner and upright type vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner comprising: a main body having a dust collecting chamber and a motor chamber; a cover for the dust collecting chamber; and an inlet pipe formed on the dust collecting chamber. A lever is provided within the dust collecting chamber, the lever being swingable between a position where one end of the lever is positioned between an opening edge of the dust collecting chamber and the cover to prevent the cover from closing and a position where the lever enables the cover to close. It is not possible to attach the cover to the cleaner in the state where the dust collecting bag is detached so that it is possible to securely prevent misuse of the cleaner in the state where the dust collecting bag is not attached.

An electric vacuum cleaner comprising a floor nozzle connected to a lower part of a main body of the electric vacuum cleaner and having a suction opening opened on a lower surface of the floor nozzle, a rotary brush disposed in the suction opening, a driving source, a power transmission system which transmits power from the driving source to the rotary brush, and a changeover unit which connects or disconnects power transmission of the power transmission system, wherein the changeover unit is provided with an operation pedal, which is manipulated to connect or disconnect the power, on a rear portion of the floor nozzle. It is possible for an operator to instantaneously turn on and off the driving of the rotary brush only by stepping down or lifting up the pedal while gripping the handle at rear side of the main body of the cleaner without stopping the movement of the cleaner.
