Developing apparatus

The present invention provides a developing apparatus to be provided in a quick start up electrophotographic image forming apparatus that can efficiently prevent generation of unevenness by a screw pitch in a short period of time. The developing apparatus rotates a developer transporting screw so as to transport and supply a developer to a developer bearing member, and develops a latent image formed on an image bearing member by the developer. The developer transporting screw includes a vane winding around a rotation shaft in a spiral form. A vane surface on other side of a developer transport direction of the vane includes two planes having different angles with a rotational center line of the rotation shaft. Relationships of &#x3b8;and 10&#xb0;&#x2266;&#x3b8;&#x2266;60&#xb0; are satisfied, where &#x3b8;denotes an angle between: the plane that has a longer distance from the rotational center line; and the rotational center line, and &#x3b8;denotes an angle between: the face that has a shorter distance from the rotational center line; and the rotational center line.

One-component type developing apparatus

The developing apparatus of the present invention includes a developer holding member for supplying a developer including a toner and a carrier onto the surface of an electrostatic latent image holding member; first developer transporter for transporting the developer in a first direction, the first developer transporter being disposed in a first developer transport path; second developer transporter for transporting the developer in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction and supplying the developer to the developer holding member, the second developer transporter being disposed in a second developer transport path; a magnet roller for drawing up the developer that has been transported through the second developer transport path into the first developer transport path; and an inclined surface that is disposed in contact with or close to the surface of the magnet roller and that is inclined such that the height thereof decreases along the first direction, wherein the developer that is held on the magnet roller is detached by the inclined surface, and the detached developer is transported in the first direction, and wherein a space in the first developer transport path that surrounds the magnet roller has a portion having a cross-sectional open area larger than that of a space in the first developer transport path that surrounds the first developer transporter.

In an electric vacuum cleaner, in a suction air passage provided between a nozzle unit having a nozzle and an electric blower for producing a suction air flow, a separator for separating dust from the suction air flow is arranged. In the separator, a dust collection chamber for collecting the separated dust is provided. The separator is fitted with an exhaust tube having an outlet, fitted with a filter, formed in the peripheral surface thereof so that the suction air flow is exhausted out of the separator through the exhaust tube to the downstream side of the suction air passage. The separator is fitted with a cleaning member having a brush for cleaning the filter. When the cleaning member is moved with the brush keeping contact with the filter, the dust that has settled on the filter is raked off. The cleaning member is moved through manual operation, with a motor, or by the suction air flow.

An image forming apparatus and a process cartridge capable of satisfying both a high quality image and an excellent maintenance property with a simple configuration. A photosensitive member and a charging roller that is a member rotating in contact with the photosensitive member are brought into contact with each other in the image forming process. When an image forming operation starts from a standstill, the charging roller is rotated before the photosensitive member starts to be rotated. Furthermore, before the photosensitive member stars to be rotated, a reversed bias voltage that is a voltage opposite to the bias voltage at usual development time is applied between the members rotating in contact with the photosensitive member and the photosensitive member. The time for which the charging roller is rotated before the photosensitive member starts to be rotated is set to be 0.01-2.0 seconds and is changed in accordance with the number of pages printed and is reduced each time the number of pages printed reaches a predetermined number.

An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductor, a developing electrode, at least a magnet disposed in the developing electrode, and a developer. The developing electrode is reciprocally movable against a rotation axis of the photoconductor. Thus, a setting angle of a magnetic pole of the magnet is not varied, even when the developing electrode is moved for cancelling decentering and deflection of the photoconductor and the developing electrode.

Image forming apparatus

Disclosed is an electrophotographic apparatus capable of producing a high-quality image free from image defects such as fine line dropouts. A photoconductor drum is used that has a magnet mounted therein in immovable fashion. After an electrostatic latent image is formed, the image is brought into contact with magnetic developer in a developer reservoir, causing the developer to be attracted to the photoconductor surface by magnetic force. When the photoconductor drum is rotated past an electrode roller to which an AC voltage is applied, toner is left only in image areas and the latent image is developed into a visible image. A sheet-like sealing member contacting the photoconductor is disposed on the upstream side of the developer reservoir in the rotating direction of the photoconductor drum. A conductive layer is provided on the surface of the sealing member opposite the surface thereof contacting the photoconductor.

An electrophotographic apparatus includes a photoconductor drum, also known as an electrostatic latent image holding member, with a magnet placed therein. An electrostatic latent image is formed on the magnetic drum. Then, the drum is brought into contact with a magnetic developer, or toner, in a developer reservoir to have the magnetic developer attached to the photoconductor drum surface by a magnetic force. A removing roller, having an AC voltage applied thereto, is passed in close vicinity of the magnetic drum with the resultant development of images because toner remains at image areas only. In the electrophotographic apparatus, the photoconductor drum, the removing roller or both include two magnetic poles. A device for increasing friction force of the surface of the photoconductor drum, of the removing roller or both may also be provided.

Electrophotographic apparatus of improved low image density

A developing unit for use in image forming apparatus includes a unit housing divided in three chambers, i.e. a toner applying chamber facing a photoreceptor and first and second toner replenishing chambers, by respective partition walls each having an opening as a passage for toner. The first and second chambers have rotation frames, respectively. Each frame has a radially extending arm to the end of which a toner transporting sheet is connected. Each sheet is provided with a friction film. When each frame rotates, the sheet with the friction film is pulled by the frame for its rotation under the toner so as to be deformed in the form of a circular arc. The toner is transported forwardly by the friction force of the friction film. When the amount of toner is reduced in each chamber, each sheet may resiliently restore to its original shape to contact the inner surface of the corresponding chamber so that a small amount of toner on the bottom of each chamber can be carried forwardly.
