A terminal device includes: a pedestrian-to-vehicle communication device configured to communicate with an in-vehicle terminal by using a first communication method, in which direct communication is performed as pedestrian-to-vehicle communication; a wireless LAN communication device configured to communicate with the in-vehicle terminal by using a second communication method, in which indirect communication is performed via a roadside device disposed on or near a road; and a controller configured to determine whether or not the terminal device is in a risky state based on state information indicating a state of the terminal device, and select either one of the first communication method, in which direct communication is used and the second communication method, in which indirect communication is used, based on a result of the determination.

A portable terminal device has enclosures with a movable portion, a display section that displays visible information showing an operation target area, and a touch sensor that detects a position on a display screen of the display section touched by a user's finger, or the like. A shape detection section detects a change in the shape of the enclosure; an input operation management section manages a position detected by the touch sensor and an operation target area of each of pieces of visible information displayed on the display section in an associated manner; and a display control section automatically makes a change to at least display positions of the respective pieces of visible information about the operation target displayed on the display section in accordance with a change in shape of the enclosure detected by the shape detection section.

Portable terminal device and display control method

A portable terminal apparatus includes an enclosure and a display attached to the enclosure and displaying at least part of a communication address and a Web page that is addressable by the communication address. A wireless LAN communication device is provided for making it possible to set beacons including DTIM information elements not to be synchronous in the case that the timing for generating the beacons including DTIM information elements is the same among access points, so that it is avoidable that only a terminal device under a specific access point among access points using the same channel is subjected to a delay and jitters, while anxiety about mutual interference of the terminal devices is removed in the case of broadcast and multicast service, so that a fair broadcast and multicast service can be received. In the device, a wireless LAN control unit () detects beacons of other stations received in a prescribed period of time before the transmission of its own station (). A beacon analyzing unit () analyzes the beacons of the other stations and adjusts transmission intervals of its own DTIM beacon.

Wireless LAN communication device and beacon transmitting method

Provided is a communication device capable of efficiently performing a power supply control when reducing power consumption by reducing the time during which the power is supplied. In the device, a CPU power saving control unit () switches between a normal mode in which the power is supplied to a CPU () and a low power consumption mode in which the power supply is stopped at predetermined timing. A session management table () stores transmission intervals before and after conversion. An information conversion section () converts the transmission intervals of session maintenance messages according to a predetermined rule so that the transmission intervals of the session maintenance messages of respective protocols are mutually synchronized between the protocols. A control unit () controls the CPU power saving control unit () so as to transmit an appropriate session maintenance message at the transmission timing of a session maintenance message and also controls it so as to switch between the normal mode and the low power consumption mode at the predetermined timing.
