A planar illumination device according to an embodiment includes a light guide plate, a light source, a top frame, and a plurality of optical sheets. The light guide plate receives light from a light incident side surface. The light source emits light to the light incident side surface of the light guide plate. The top frame covers a light exit surface side of the light guide plate. The plurality of optical sheets are disposed at the light exit surface side of the light guide plate, and an end portion is fixed at a rear side of a frame portion of the top frame.

A planar illumination device of an embodiment includes a light guide plate, a plurality of light sources, an elastic member, and a bottom frame. The light guide plate receives light from a light incident side surface. The plurality of light sources emit light to the light incident side surface of the light guide plate. The elastic member presses and supports the light guide plate. The bottom frame houses the light guide plate, the plurality of light sources, and the elastic member. The bottom frame includes a pillar configured to protrude in a thickness direction at a position opposing substantially a center of the light incident side surface of the light guide plate in a longitudinal direction. The light guide plate includes, substantially at the center of the light incident side surface in the longitudinal direction, a groove configured to engage with the pillar. The elastic member presses a side of the light guide plate at a non-light incident side toward a light incident side.

A planar illumination device of an embodiment includes a light guide plate, a light source, one or more optical sheets, a bottom frame, and a top frame. The light guide plate receives light from a light incident side surface. The light source emits light to the light incident side surface of the light guide plate. The optical sheet is disposed on a light exit surface side of the light guide plate. The bottom frame houses the light guide plate, the light source, and the optical sheet. The top frame includes an opening, engages with the bottom frame and covers a light exit surface side of the optical sheet. An end portion on an opening side of a side wall of the bottom frame forms a space with a frame portion of the top frame, where the space corresponds to a clearance for an end portion of the optical sheet.

A planar lighting device according to an embodiment includes a light guide plate, a plurality of light sources, and a strip-shaped member. The light guide plate has a side surface and two main surfaces. One of the two main surfaces emits light entered from the side surface. The light sources face the side surface and are arranged in a longitudinal direction of the side surface and emit light that enters the side surface. The strip-shaped member extends in the longitudinal direction of the side surface and is adhered to a region on at least one of the two main surfaces closer to the light sources. The strip-shaped member includes non-adhesive portions disposed at positions facing regions of the at least one of the two main surfaces in front of the light sources. The non-adhesive portions do not adhere to the light guide plate.

Planar lighting device

A planar illumination device according to an embodiment includes a light guide plate, light sources, and a fixation member with a strip shape. The light guide plate outputs light that is incident on a side surface thereof from one principal surface among two principal surfaces thereof. The light sources face the side surface, are arrayed to be spaced apart in a longitudinal direction of the side surface, and have light-emitting surfaces that emit light that is incident on the side surface. The fixation member is arranged between the light guide plate and another member and fixes the light guide plate to the other member. The fixation member is bonded to regions on the light guide plate that are each located anteriorly between two adjacent light sources in mutually different combinations and that are located to be spaced apart in an array direction of the light sources.

A planar lighting device according to an embodiment includes a light guide plate, a light source, and a stopper. The light guide plate includes a light entering end surface that light enters. In the light source, a light emitting surface that emits light faces the light entering end surface. The stopper includes a facing end surface facing, in the light entering end surface, an area that does not face the light emitting surface of the light source, and controls the light guide plate to move in a direction approaching the light source.

There is provided a portable apparatus capable of detecting a touch position where a user touches the portable apparatus and a touch strength with which the user touches the portable apparatus. The portable apparatus includes: a rectangular frame on which a display panel unit is to be mounted; four touch detection-dedicated legs respectively extending from vicinities of four corners of the frame; a first strain gage attached to each of the touch detection-dedicated legs; and a calculation unit that finds the touch position and the touch strength based on an output of the first strain gage.
