The reproduction of a copy inhibit image and the abuse of data through a network are to be prevented without sacrificing various page editing functions. An image read unit scans an original placed on an original carrying table and thereby generates RGB color image signals of multi-value. An image processing unit performs various image processing and, upon detection of a copy inhibit original, performs image working for preventing faithful reproduction of the copy inhibit original. An image storing unit temporarily stores page by page original images provided from the image processing unit. If a copy inhibit image is contained in the original images, the image working is performed by the image processing unit to prevent faithful reproduction and the images after the image working are stored in the image storing unit. An image output unit performs a printing operation in accordance with image data outputted from the image processing unit.

Image processing system, image processing method, and image input system

A color copying apparatus is capable of making copies without performing a prescan. Input image data of RGB format read from an image input unit is written in an image memory through the shading/gap correction unit and an input &ggr; correction unit. This input image data is supplied to a detection unit through a first color space conversion unit to distinguish color from monochrome in the input image data, and to detect the base color level and the like. Next, on the basis of these detection results, states of a second color space conversion unit, a selector, a frame-erase/base color removal unit and the like are set. Thus, the input image data is read out again from the image memory, and is supplied to an image output unit through the first color space conversion unit to an output &ggr; correction unit.

Image reader

A multi-color marker editing system for editing a color image by reading a designated marker. The multi-color marker editing system includes an image reading unit for reading color image data, a color-coordinate converting unit for converting the read image data into color data in a color coordinate system defined by optical density, hue and saturation, a color detecting unit for detecting a designated marker color from the read color image data, an image density converting unit for converting a density of the detected marker color image data, and a marker editing unit for making a marker color editing for each color to the density-converted marker color image data.

Multi-color marker editing system

A image edit apparatus in which area data of 16-bit width have been stored at the memory locations of the corresponding addresses of the respective memory planes of a plane memory 403. The operation of reading area data therefrom by a pseudo sync signal starts before a line sync signal becomes active. A density-conversion/area generating circuit 405 converts the data format from the plane type to the pixel type, so that area commands are generated. Then, the circuit 405 reads an edit command out of a logic RAM, using the area command as address, and outputs the command. By reading the area data earlier and processing that data, a delay in the density-conversion/area generating circuit can be absorbed, so that the output edit command is synchronized with the image data.

An area control system for an image processing apparatus including a input unit 1 for inputting image signals, a area control unit 2 for generating control signals according to a specified area, document type and processing mode, and a processing unit 3 having a plurality of processing blocks 3-1, 3-2, . . . for processing image signals by setting parameters in the processing blocks 3-1, 3-2, . . . , comprises a decode unit 4 for generating signals to switch the parameters in the processing blocks 3-1, 3-2, . . . of the processing unit 3 by control signals for each area generated by the area control unit 2. The decode unit distributes the control signals from the area control unit to the processing blocks, through the decode unit 4. With such an arrangement, when the area control unit 2 merely outputs the document type and a processing mode for each area, such as an input mode and an output mode, the decode unit 4 automatically generates control signals for the processing blocks 3-1, 3-2, . . . and distributes them to the processing blocks. If the decode unit 4 is provided for each processing block 3-1, 3-2, . . . , the processing system and the processing blocks, if required, can be altered or modified for each processing block.

Area control system for image processing apparatus

A texture image processing system for image processing apparatus comprises, first calculator for calculating a maximum value and a minimum value of texture image data; second calculator for calculating an average value and a gain value with employment of said maximum value and minimum value; and synthesizing processor for synthesizing texture image data by image picture data, this synthesizing processor synthesizing the texture image data with the image picture data by multiplying a difference between the texture image data and the average value by the gain value. Also, synthesizing processor synthesizes the texture image data with chromaticity information of the image picture data, or chromaticity information of the image picture data with predetermined chromaticity information, chromaticity information of the texture image data. With the above-described structures, both of hue and saturation in the image picture data are maintained, and also the synthesized texture image having no great brightness change over its entire region is obtained.

A color image editing apparatus capable of improving color detecting accuracy, color-converting a chromatic color into a neutral (achromatic) color and vice verse and performing a hue conversion, while maintaining gradation. The color image editing apparatus in which image signals read out by an image reading unit are converted to density, hue and chroma signals by color display coordinate system convertor to perform a color image editing operation inlcudes a detector for detecting whether or not density, hue and chroma of a detected color image is within predetermined density, hue and chroma ranges, respectively. It is judged by a judging unit whether or not a color of the detected color image is of a predetermined color in responses to an output of the detector, and a color changing unit means converts the density, hue and chroma independently in response to the judgement result of the judging unit.

Color image editing apparatus

An image processing system assigns weight factors to two respective image signals of the equivalent color space so that the two image signals are combined according to the respective weight factors. For example, two weight factors having a sum of unity are assigned to the respective image signals. Alternatively, two weight factors are assigned independently.

A matrix unit receives a luminance signal L* for a uniform color space and two color difference signals a* and b*. The coefficients have the data form representing the coverage of the toner colors, Y, M, C, and K.

Mono-color editing method for color picture image recording

Data B, G, and R output from an image read unit are converted to data L*, a*, and b* respectively by first color signal conversion unit and further the data a* and b* are then converted to data H and C by third color signal conversion unit. Image data V, H and C are color edited by image edit block and the output thereof H and C are converted to a* and b* respectively by fourth color signal conversion unit. The outputs of the first color signal conversion unit are also input to delay unit, are delayed by a time equal to a processing time in image edit unit by the delay unit, and are then input to selector unit. The selector unit, in accordance with a switching control signal S.sub.cont output from the image edit block, outputs either of the color edited data L*, a* and b* that are output from the image edit unit or the data L*, a* and b* that are output from the delay unit.
