A printing apparatus includes a body portion and a carriage configured to move in a first direction along a first axis and in a second direction along a second axis orthogonal to the first axis. The carriage is mounted with a head configured to eject ink toward a medium and an irradiation unit configured to irradiate the medium with ultraviolet rays arranged side by side in the first direction. The irradiation unit includes a first contact portion and is supported movably in the second direction relative to the head. Movement of the carriage in the second direction brings the first contact portion and a second contact portion provided at the body portion into contact with each other. The irradiation unit moves in the second direction relative to the head as the carriage moves while the first contact portion and the second contact portion are in contact with each other.

Printing apparatus

A printer includes a printing unit that performs printing on a printing medium; a winding unit that winds the printing medium on which the printing is performed by the printing unit; and a frame unit which is positioned between the printing unit and the winding unit on a feeding path of the printing medium, in which in a case where the printing medium is not wound by the winding unit, a receiving member for receiving the printing medium is detachably mounted to the frame unit, and in a case where the printing medium is wound by the winding unit, the receiving member is detached such that the frame unit comes in contact with the printing medium.

The recording device includes a recording unit, a conveying unit, an ejection unit, and a controller. The controller is configured to urge a driven roller of the ejection unit toward a drive roller of the ejection unit by a first load to eject a recording medium while the recording is performed on the recording medium of which a rear end has left the conveying unit, determine whether or not the recording is finished while the driven roller is urged toward the drive roller by the first load, switch the first load to a second load, which is less than the first load, to eject the recording medium on which the recording is finished in response to determining that the recording is finished, and urge the driven roller toward the drive roller by the second load while ejecting the recording medium on which the recording is finished.

Recording device with ejection unit for ejecting recording medium

The recording device includes recording unit for recording on a recording medium, conveying unit for conveying a recording medium upstream of the recording unit in the downstream direction, and an ejection unit for ejecting the recording medium which is downstream of the recording unit and which has undergone recording. The ejection unit has a drive roller and a driven roller urged toward the drive roller, the driven roller is capable of switching between a state of being urged by a first load and a state of being urged by a second load that is lower than the first load, the driven roller is set to the first-load selected state at least during rear end recording in which recording is performed on a rear end region of the recording medium, and the driven roller is set to the second-load selected state during ejection when the recording medium is ejected.

Recording device

A medium cassette includes a slidable cassette pull-out part and is capable of being lengthened and shortened, and a medium tray has a first pull-out part slidably provided to a tray base, the medium tray can be lengthened and shortened, and the medium tray is detachably provided to the top of the medium cassette. The cassette pull-out part is provided with a first engaging protrusion and a second engaging protrusion which engage with the tray base, and inclined surfaces are formed on both sides in the detachment direction of these engaging protrusions. The designs of these inclined surfaces, of the heights of the protrusions, and of other features make it possible to perform the operations of lengthening/shortening and installing/detaching the medium cassette and the medium tray separately from the other component's side without restriction, even while the medium cassette and the medium tray are engaged together.

A recording apparatus includes: a recording unit that performs recording on a recording medium wound on a roll, the roll including a first flange that is attached to one end and has a shaft hole and a first receiving portion, and a second flange that is attached to the other end and has a shaft hole; a first holder movable along a rotation axis of the roll, the first holder including a first shaft insertable into the shaft hole in the first flange, and a first flange-support surface that is in contact with an outer periphery of the first flange to support the first flange when the first shaft is not fitted in the shaft hole in the first flange and that has a first engaging portion; a second holder including a second shaft insertable into the shaft hole in the second flange.

Recording apparatus

A liquid ejection device includes a liquid ejection unit configured to eject a liquid onto an ejection medium, and an ejection medium support unit disposed on the transport path of the ejection medium and adapted to support the ejection medium. The ejection medium support unit has a suction opening for retaining the ejection medium through suctional attraction by applying suction on a back face of the ejection medium. A rim of the suction opening has a contour rising above a surrounding area of the suction opening.

Liquid ejection device

An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head which discharges ultraviolet curing inks toward a recording sheet while reciprocally moving in a reciprocal movement direction M crossing a transportation direction S of the recording sheet; and an ultraviolet irradiation head which irradiates ultraviolet rays toward the ultraviolet curing inks discharged from the recording head and attached to the recorded medium. The recording head includes a going recording head and a returning recording head which are disposed at the front and the back of the reciprocal movement direction M with respect to a region in which the ultraviolet irradiation head irradiates the ultraviolet rays to the recording sheet.

Recording apparatus and liquid ejecting apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a printing medium support unit supporting a printing medium supplied to a print execution area and guiding the transported printing medium. The printing medium support unit includes a support portion supporting the printing medium and defining a predetermined gap between a print head and the support portion. A suction hole disposed in a width direction of the printing medium adsorbs and supports the printing medium on the support portion by applying a suction force to the printing medium. A first recess portion with an ink discharge port is disposed at a position corresponding to a position at an edge of the printing medium of a size which is supposed to be used and receives ink possibly discarded upon executing marginless printing. A first communication passage applies some of the suction force to the first recess portion in a passage independent from the ink discharge port.

A printing apparatus includes a printing medium support unit that supports and guides a printing medium supplied to a print execution area. The printing medium support unit includes a support portion supporting the printing medium defines a predetermined gap with a print head. A suction groove is formed concavely on a support surface of the support portion. A suction opening in the suction groove communicates with a suction source. A movable adsorption portion in the suction groove has a suction hole. Before the printing medium is supplied, the movable adsorption portion is located at an upper limit position higher than a support height of the support portion. When the printing medium is supplied, the suction hole is blocked by the printing medium, creating negative pressure, and thus the movable adsorption portion is moved to a lower limit position no higher than the support height of the support portion.

A roll medium supporting apparatus includes: a base body portion to be inserted into a hollow shaft portion of a rolled medium; a plurality of contact supporting portions provided circumferentially of the base body portion so as to be capable of being displaced radially of the hollow shaft portion, having a plurality of predetermined positions within the displaceable range, and coming into contact with the inner peripheral surface of the hollow shaft portion and supporting the same; and a stabilizing mechanism configured to stabilize the contact supporting portions at the plurality of predetermined positions.

Roll medium supporting apparatus and printing apparatus

A liquid ejecting head has a head face on which nozzles adapted to eject liquid toward a first face of a target medium are arranged. The liquid ejecting head is adapted to move in a first direction. A conveyance guide member is adapted to support a second face of the target medium so that a distance between the head face and the first face of the target medium is made to be a prescribed value. The conveyance guide member includes a plurality of ribs arrayed in the first direction at a fixed pitch and extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A medium conveyer is adapted to convey the target medium in a second direction while causing the second face of the target medium to be abutted against the conveyance guide member. A controller is operable to cause the liquid ejecting head to complete liquid ejection toward a leading end portion of the target medium while the leading end portion is located at a region in which an abutment force generated by the medium conveyer becomes maximum.

Liquid ejecting apparatus

A liquid ejecting head is operable to eject liquid toward a target medium. A medium supporting member is opposing to the liquid ejecting head and supporting the target medium from below. A liquid absorber is adapted to receive and absorb liquid ejected to the outside of the target medium. A holder is holding the liquid absorber and being detachably provided with the medium supporting member.
