An electronic device includes: a storage unit that stores therein a plurality of images in which a first subject is imaged, and a plurality of images in which a second subject which is different from the first subject is imaged, and stores therein supplementary information about the first subject and the second subject including information about dates and times of imaging, and sites of imaging; and an extracting unit that extracts images whose dates and times of imaging are different from each other, and images imaged at a common site of imaging based on the supplementary information when extracting an image in which the first subject is imaged and an image in which the second subject is imaged. In the electronic device, when the first subject and the second subject are humans, the storage unit stores therein, as the supplementary information, birth dates of the first and second people.

A camera includes: a first sensor of a storage type that has a plurality of pixels; a focus detection unit that detects a focus adjustment state of a photographic optical system based upon a detection signal from the first sensor for a photographic subject; a second sensor that acquires an image of the photographic subject; an extraction unit that extracts a main photographic subject region from image information acquired by the second sensor; and a control unit that controls accumulation of electrical charge by the first sensor, based upon values outputted from pixels of the first sensor that correspond to the main photographic subject region.

A camera includes a first image pickup section that photographs a recording-purpose image, a viewfinder optical system, a second image pickup section, a mounting section, a display processing section, a displaying section, and a controlling section. The viewfinder optical system has an eyepiece section that can observe an optical image of a subject with a light flux from a photographing optical path of the first image pickup section. The second image pickup section photographs a view confirming image from an optical path different from that of the first image pickup section. The mounting section acquires focal-length information of an interchangeable lens. The display processing section executes display processing that superimposes a frame indicating a range of a field angle of the first image pickup section, onto the view confirming image. The displaying section provides the eyepiece section with the view confirming image having been processed with the display processing. The controlling section switches between a first state to provide the eyepiece section with the optical image and a second state to provide the eyepiece section with the view confirming image. Then, the displaying section changes a size of a frame based on the focal-length information when in the second state.

A camera includes: a photometric unit that acquires two dimensional photometric information of an image of a photographic subject; a separation unit that separates the image of the photographic subject into two groups, based upon photometric information acquired by the photometric unit during non-emission of light by a flash light emission device; and a calculation unit that multiplies the photometric information acquired by the photometric unit during a first light emission by the flash light emission device before photography, by different coefficients for the two groups, and calculates an amount of light required for photography that is to be emitted during a second light emission by the flash light emission device, based upon the photographic information after multiplication by the coefficients.
