The present invention provides a polyisocyanate composition comprising a modified polyisocyanate obtained by a reaction between a polyisocyanate and a polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether having a specific structure. In the polyisocyanate composition, the average number of isocyanate functional groups is 1.8 or more and 4.0 or less, the moiety derived from the polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether in the modified polyisocyanate is contained in an amount of 10 mass % or more and 18 mass % or less based on the total amount of the polyisocyanate composition, and the polydispersity index of molecular weight distribution of the moiety derived from the polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether in the modified polyisocyanate is 1.05 or more and 2.00 or less.

Disclosed is a metallic pigment composition which can provide, when used in a coating composition, an ink composition or the like, in particular, a water-based coating, a water-based ink or the like, a coating film having a high storage stability, a good adhesiveness, a good chemical resistance and a good color tone. Specifically disclosed is a metallic pigment composition which comprises at least one kind of compound selected from a heteropolyanion compound and a mixed-ligand heteropolyanion compound, an organic oligomer or polymer, and metal grains.

An object of the present invention is to provide a metal pigment composition having the characteristics that aging stability is excellent, reductions of brightness, masking and flip flop appearance are little, and storage stability is excellent. The present invention is directed to a metal pigment composition containing a metal pigment treated with at least one of organic molybdenum compounds, or a metal pigment composition containing a metal pigment treated with at least one of organic molybdenum compounds, and at least one agent selected from the groups consisting of an anti-oxidizing agent, an anti-reducing agent and a photostabilizer.

Provided is a metallic-pigment composition which is usable in coating compositions or ink compositions, in particular, in water-based coating compositions or aqueous inks, and which gives coating compositions having excellent storage stability. The metallic-pigment composition gives a coating film having excellent performances with respect to brightness, hiding properties, flip-flop feeling, etc., causes no colorant or organic-pigment discoloration, and has excellent adhesion and chemical resistance. The metallic-pigment composition comprises one or more mixed-coordination-type heteropolyanion compounds, a hydrolyzate of a silicon compound and/or a condensate thereof, and metal particles.

Disclosed is a metal pigment composition which can be used in an aqueous coating and shows excellent storage stability of a coating agent, and which is reduced in the deterioration of glossiness, hiding power, flip-flop property and the like when formed into a coating film. Specifically disclosed is a metal pigment composition which is treated with at least one amine salt of a heteropoly acid. The heteroatom constituting the heteropoly acid is at least one element selected from the elements belonging to Groups III, IV and V. The polyatom constituting the heteropoly acid is a transition metal. The amount of the amine salt of the heteropoly acid is preferably 0.01 to 10 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of a metal pigment. The metal pigment is preferably an aluminum flake.
