A metal porous body includes: a metal framework; and a separation wall formed in one piece with the metal framework, the separation wall being composed of the same material as a material of the metal framework. A plurality of cells each having a polyhedral shape exist inside the metal porous body. A side of the polyhedral shape is constituted of the metal framework. A location in which an opening of a cell of the plurality of cells is closed by the separation wall exists inside the metal porous body, the opening being defined by a side of a polyhedral shape of the cell.

Metal porous body

A metal porous sheet includes a metal porous body having a skeleton with a three-dimensional network structure, and has a main surface in which a trench is formed. A depth of the trench is more than or equal to 10 percent of a thickness of the metal porous sheet. An area of the trench is more than or equal to 10 percent of an area of the main surface in a plan view.

A porous body includes a framework having a three-dimensional network structure, the framework having a body including crystal grains including nickel and cobalt as constituent elements, the cobalt having a proportion in mass of 0.2 or more and 0.8 or less with respect to a total mass of the nickel and the cobalt, the crystal grains having a shorter grain diameter of 2 &#x3bc;m or more, as determined in a first observed image obtained by observing the body of the framework in cross section at a magnification of 200 times.

A metal porous body having a three-dimensional network structure, includes: a framework forming the three-dimensional network structure; and a coating layer having fine pores and coating the framework, the three-dimensional network structure including a rib and a node connecting a plurality of ribs, the framework including an alkali-resistant first metal, the fine pores having an average fine pore diameter of 10 nm or more and 1 &#x3bc;m or less, the coating layer including an alkali-resistant second metal and optionally including an alkali-soluble metal, the alkali-soluble metal being contained at a proportion of 0% by mass or more and 30% by mass or less with reference to a total mass of the framework and the coating layer.

A coolant includes a refrigerant, a porous plate-shaped heat insulator, and an enclosure in which the refrigerant and the heat insulator are enclosed in a sealed state, and the heat insulator has a thermal conductivity per unit area of 300 W/(K&#xb7;m) or less and a thickness equal to or greater than 0.5 mm and equal to or less than 10.0 mm.

Metal porous body and current collector for nickel-metal hydride battery

A porous metal body including a skeleton having a three-dimensional mesh-like structure, the porous metal body having a plate-like overall shape. The skeleton has a hollow structure and includes a primary metal layer and at least one of a first microporous layer and a second microporous layer. The primary metal layer is composed of nickel or a nickel alloy. The first microporous layer contains nickel and chromium and is disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the primary metal layer. The second microporous layer contains nickel and chromium and is disposed on the inner peripheral surface of the primary metal layer, the inner peripheral surface facing the hollow space of the skeleton.

An aqueous solution electrolyte secondary battery includes: a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material that reversibly occludes and releases lithium ions; a negative electrode including a negative electrode active material that reversibly occludes and releases lithium ions; and an aqueous solution electrolyte in which a lithium salt is dissolved. The negative electrode active material contains Mo, at least part of the Mo causes an oxidation-reduction reaction of Mo/Mothrough charging and discharging, and a potential window for charging and discharging exceeds 2.0 V.

A current collector included in a fuel cell, the fuel cell including a membrane electrode assembly including a solid polymer electrolyte layer and a pair of electrode layers formed to sandwich the solid polymer electrolyte layer, the current collector stacked on each electrode layer, and a gas flow path for supply of a gas to each electrode layer, the current collector including a metal porous body which is stacked on the electrode layer, has a flowing gas supplied to the electrode layer, and is rendered conducting to the electrode layer, and the metal porous body including an electrically conductive layer containing electrically conductive particles fixed to a corrosion-resistant and water-repellent resin at least on a side of the electrode layer.

Current collector for fuel cell, and fuel cell

Provided is a porous current collector which is used for a fuel electrode and has a high gas reforming function and high durability. A porous current collectoris provided adjacent to a fuel electrodeof a fuel cellthat includes a solid electrolyte layer, the fuel electrodedisposed on one side of the solid electrolyte layer, and an air electrodedisposed on the other side. The porous current collector includes a porous metal bodyand a first catalyst. The porous metal body has an alloy layerat least on a surface thereof, the alloy layer containing nickel (Ni) and tin (Sn). The first catalyst, which is in the form of particles, is supported on a surface of the alloy layer, the surface facing pores of the porous metal body, and is capable of processing a carbon component contained in a fuel gas that flows inside the pores.

Porous current collector and fuel cell

Provided is a porous metal body having superior corrosion resistance to conventional metal porous bodies composed of nickel-tin binary alloys and conventional metal porous bodies composed of nickel-chromium binary alloys. The porous metal body has a three-dimensional network skeleton and contains at least nickel, tin, and chromium. The concentration of chromium contained in the porous metal body is highest at the surface of the skeleton of the porous metal body and decreases toward the inner side of the skeleton. In one embodiment, the chromium concentration at the surface of the skeleton of the porous metal body is more preferably 3% by mass or more and 70% by mass or less.

Porous metal body and method for producing same

A porous metal body is provided that is inexpensive, usable for an electrode of a fuel cell or the like, and has excellent corrosion resistance. There is provided a porous metal body for a fuel cell, which is a sheet-shaped porous metal body, including at least nickel, tin, and chromium, in which the chromium concentration of at least one surface of the porous metal body is 3% to 50% by mass. In the porous metal body, preferably, the chromium concentration of one surface is higher than the chromium concentration of another surface.

Porous metal body, method for manufacturing porous metal body, and fuel cell

Provided are a porous metal body that is excellent in terms of corrosion resistance and that is suitable for a collector for batteries such as lithium-ion batteries, capacitors, or fuel cells; and methods for producing the porous metal body. A production method includes a step of coating a porous nickel body with an alloy containing at least nickel and tungsten or a metal containing at least tin; and a subsequent step of a heat treatment. Another production method includes a step of forming a nickel-plated layer on a porous base and then continuously forming an alloy-plated layer containing at least nickel and tungsten or tin, a step of removing the porous base, and a step of reducing metal. Such a method can provide a porous metal body in which tungsten or tin is diffused in a porous nickel body or a nickel-plated layer.
