The tube body intermediate includes: a carbon fiber disposed with respect to an outer circumferential surface of a mandrel such that the carbon fiber extends in an axial direction of the mandrel in a manner of being wound by less than one turn; and a first fixing member wound with respect to an outer circumferential surface of the mandrel such that the first fixing member extends in the axial direction of the mandrel in a manner of being wound over the carbon fiber by one or more turns in a circumferential direction.

Provided is a tube body intermediate including: a carbon fiber disposed with respect to an outer circumferential surface of a mandrel so as to extend in an axial direction of the mandrel; and a fixing member having a tubular shape and disposed with respect to the outer circumferential surface of the mandrel so as to cover the carbon fiber. A tube body production method includes: a disposing step of disposing carbon fibers with respect to an outer circumferential surface of a mandrel so that the carbon fibers extend in the axial direction of the mandrel; and a molding step of impregnating the fiber body with a resin on the outer circumferential surface of the mandrel and then heating the resin to mold the resin, wherein the disposing step and the molding step are performed in a state where the axial direction of the mandrel coincides with an up-down direction.

Method for producing tube body

A tube is used in fiber-reinforced plastic power transmission shaft. The tube comprises: a cylindrical body section; a connection portion that has a larger diameter than the body section; and an inclined portion that has an outer diameter that increases toward the second connection section from the main body part. The inclined section has formed thereon, a weak section that is damaged when a load input in the axial direction exceeds a prescribed value. With this configuration, the cost of the tube can be reduced, and when a prescribed load is input to the tube in the axial direction, the tube is reliably damaged.

A tube for a power transmission shaft is made of fiber-reinforced plastic, rotated to transmit power, and includes a main body in a shape of cylinder about an axis, wherein the main body has an outer diameter thereof gradually decreasing from a central portion thereof toward both ends thereof, and has a thickness thereof gradually decreasing from said both ends toward the central portion.

Tube for power transmission shaft and power transmission shaft

A tubular body of a power transmission shaft made of fiber-reinforced plastic is provided with a cylindrical main body portion, and a second connection portion continuous with an end portion of the main body portion and to which a stab shaft is joined. The main body portion is formed with a weak portion which fails when a load input in the direction of an axial line exceeds a predetermined value. A linear rupture portion is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the weak portion. In the present configuration, cost reduction and weight reduction of the tubular body are made possible, and the tubular body fails infallibly when a predetermined load is input to the tubular body in the direction of the axial line.
