A support shaft connects between a flange and a pump unit. An intermediate member, which connects between the support shaft and pump unit, enables a relative positional change between the support shaft and the pump unit in an axial direction of the support shaft. The intermediate member limits a relative positional change between the support shaft and the pump unit in a circumferential direction of the support shaft. A resilient member is received in the support shaft and exerts a restoring force in an axial direction of the support shaft to urge the pump unit, which is movable relative to the support shaft in the axial direction, toward a bottom portion of the fuel tank.

Fuel supply apparatus

A gas/liquid separation system includes a cyclone case, a gas outflow pipe including a flange, and a housing that accommodates a valve and is welded to a peripheral edge portion of an upper opening of the cyclone case. An upper opening of a cylindrical portion of the cyclone case is blocked off by the flange of the gas outflow pipe. An annular projection is formed at the flange and at the housing. The annular projections fit together with an annular recess formed in the upper opening edge portion of the cyclone case. The gas outflow pipe and the housing are welded at the upper opening edge portion of the cyclone case. A sealing property can be secured without using seal members, and welding portions are few.

Gas/liquid separation system

A centrifugal air-oil separator for separating liquid particles from gases containing the liquid particles includes a substantially cylindrical air-oil separation chamber and a substantially conical liquid discharge chamber which are integrated with each other and are horizontally disposed, and an air-oil separation plate disposed between a gas supply port communicating with the air-oil separation chamber and a gas discharge port communicating with the liquid discharge chamber. A liquid discharge port is provided at a lowest portion between a largest-diameter portion of the liquid discharge chamber and the air-oil separation plate, and the liquid discharge port is covered thereabove with a reverse flow prevention wall. A strong swirl flow is generated in the air-oil separation chamber by the action of the air-oil separation plate to thereby enhance the liquid separation effect, and the reverse flow of liquid from the liquid discharge port to the liquid discharge chamber can be prevented.

Centrifugal air-oil separator

A cyclone type, gas-liquid separator has a gas lead-through pipe penetrating an upper end wall of a cyclone chamber and extending downward to have a gas outlet in the cyclone chamber. A generally annular baffle plate is provided on an outer circumference of the gas lead-through pipe in the vicinity of the gas outlet to generally divide. the inside of the cyclone chamber into upper and lower. spaces. Accordingly, swirl flow formed in the upper space is prevented from being drawn directly by a negative pressure of the gas lead-through pipe without swirling sufficiently, so that separation efficiency is improved.

Cyclone type gas-liquid separator

An oil filter includes a housing having a case and a cap detachably engaged with each other and a filter element detachably contained in the housing. An oil-draining hole is provided at a bottom portion of the case. The oil filter further includes a plug member for opening and closing the draining oil hole and a spring member for operating the plug member according to an engagement state of the case and the cap. At an intermediate condition of the engagement state of the case and the cap, the plug member moves to the cap side to open the oil-draining hole. Therefore, before changing the filter element, oil staying in the oil filter can be readily securely discharged to the outside.

Oil filter incorporating a drain valve

An engine oil filter has an upper cap and a lower case or plate, which are engageable with each other through a projecting portion and a groove portion. In one mode, the projecting portion is inserted into a first longitudinal groove wall and moved along a contact surface of a first skewed groove wall, whereby the cap and the case are moved and fitted together in an axial direction. As axial movement caused by relative rotation between the cap and the case takes place, an O-ring is tightly fitted therebetween at a fixed seal position. This engagement process applies no excessive force to the O-ring so that a sealed state of high reliability is provided.
