A design part installation structure includes a lamp body exposed on a vehicle design surface, an outer panel having an installation section for installing the lamp body and defining the design surface, and a parting line, which includes a curved third parting line segment, is formed between the lamp body and the outer panel. The outer panel has an orthogonal flange portion and an inclined flange portion. The orthogonal flange portion is provided in a section corresponding to the third parting line segment, extends from the installation section toward a vehicle inside, and is orthogonal to a main body. The inclined flange portion is provided in a section corresponding to the third parting line segment, extends from an extending end of the orthogonal flange portion toward the vehicle cabin, and inclines toward the lamp body as a position thereon shifts in the direction from vehicle outside to vehicle inside.

Part installation structure for vehicle

A vehicle upper body structure includes an inner member and an outer member assembled together to form a roof side rail, a pillar and a roof cross rail joined together at a junction. The junction includes an inverted U-shaped reinforcement bracket having two legs joined to the inner member and a central web extending between the legs, and a reinforcement panel disposed between the inner and outer members and retained on an upper surface of the central web of the reinforcement bracket. The outer member is joined to an upper surface of the reinforcement panel.

Vehicle upper body structure

Vehicular upper-part structure includes left and right side roof rails located on opposite sides of a roof of a vehicle compartment, and a roof panel and roof arch member each joined at their opposite end portions to the side roof rails. Each of the side roof rails includes: an outer member; an inner member extending along the outer member, the inner member having a first vertical wall portion and a welding flange portion formed integrally with the first vertical wall portion, one of the opposite end portions of the roof arch member being joined to the welding flange portion by welding; and a second vertical wall portion formed by a stay member that is joined at its one end portion to the welding flange portion and supports a roof panel joint section having the roof panel joined thereto by welding.

Vehicular upper-part structure

A structure for retaining a spare tire at a sidewall of a rear body of a vehicle is disclosed. A vertically extending bracket is weld connected to an outer surface of an inner panel forming the sidewall. A rod extending through the inner panel into a luggage space is attached to a distal end of the bracket. The rod has a front end exposed to the luggage space for retaining the spare tire in an upright position. When a forwardly directed load arising from a collision in a rear of the vehicle is applied to the spare tire, the bracket is deformed through the rod to rupture the inner panel at the weld connection.
