A multiplexing optical system includes a light source, a lens and a lens array. The light source includes a plurality of light emitting elements of surface emitting lasers. The lens is configured to change and condense optical paths of laser light beams emitted from the light emitting elements. The lens array includes a plurality of lens regions arrayed so as to correspond to respective optical paths of the laser light beams changed by the lens, and is configured to condense the laser light beams by the lens regions to form a multiplexed beam.

Multiplexing optical system

A laser module includes: a photonic crystal surface-emitting laser element; a collimating lens array for producing a parallel optical beam; a condenser lens for condensing the optical beam; and an optical fiber which receives the optical beam on one end and transmits the optical beam to the outside. In the collimating lens array, an aperture portion corresponding to a collimating lens allows passage of the optical beam with an energy of not less than 94.0% and not more than 99.5% with respect to 100% of the energy of the optical beam incident on the collimating lens array.

A laser processing head apparatus with a camera monitor includes a light source for illumination having a near-infrared laser diode that generates a near-infrared laser beam of which upper limit value is a wavelength of a laser beam for processing, and out of processing point-emitted light, a processing point-reflected laser beam and illumination light for imaging, which have passed through a condensed lens and a laser beam reflection mirror and are directed to the camera respectively. An optical filter blocks transmission of the processing point-emitted light and the processing point-reflected laser beam, and transmits the illumination light for imaging.

A solid-state laser processing apparatus includes a solid-state laser oscillator, a laser beam diameter controller, an optical fiber, and a processing head. The solid-state laser oscillator oscillates a laser beam. The laser beam diameter controller controls a beam diameter of the laser beam, and includes an aperture. The aperture controls a beam quality of the laser beam defined by Mso as to fall in a range of 85&#x2266;M&#x2266;105. The optical fiber guides the controlled laser beam therein. The processing head includes a transfer optical system, and irradiates the guided laser beam to a surface of a workpiece to be processed by way of the transfer optical system.

A solid state laser device has an graded index optical fiber in which the diameter .phi..sub.in of the laser beam at the optical fiber side having the following relationship: 0.5.phi..sub.s .ltoreq..phi..sub.in .ltoreq.2.phi..sub.s, and .phi..sub.s =(.phi..sub.c .phi..sub.0 .theta.(2n.sub.0 .DELTA.n).sup.-1/2).sup.1/2, where a diameter of the laser beam waist at an output level is .phi..sub.0, and an opening angle is 2.theta. (total angle). and a laser processing device incorporating these optical transmission device and the solid state laser device.

Optical transmission device, solid state laser device, and laser beam

A solid state laser apparatus and a laser machining apparatus are provided to provide high power laser beam having an excellent condensing performance at high efficiency and with high reliability. In the solid state laser apparatus, a recess is provided in a supporter disposed on a slab side surface at an excitation area corresponding portion. A high reflectance body having a cooling water filtrating groove is disposed in the recess to contact with a slab facing surface with pressure. The supporter contacts slab longitudinal both ends with pressure through a silicon rubber plate which is transparent to excitation light. A transparent silicon rubber O-ring is disposed to extend over an entire peripheral portion of a plane formed by a slab surface including the supporter pressure contacting porting and the supporter so as to seal cooling water and elastically support the slab.

A solid state laser apparatus comprises a laser medium having a pair of optically flat surfaces confronting to each other, and side surfaces intersecting the optically flat surfaces along an optical axis, the laser medium having a rectangular cross section; heat insulators adhered to the side surfaces of the laser medium; and reflective films for shielding the thermal insulators from pumping light. A solid state laser apparatus may comprise heat conductors bonded to the side surfaces of the laser medium, the heat conductors removing heat which occurs at bonding surfaces, the amount of removed heat from the side surfaces being smaller than that from the optically flat surfaces.

Solid laser device

A laser device comprises a laser medium, a semiconductor light-emitting element for exciting the laser medium, a reflecting surface surrounding the outer periphery of the laser medium along its optical axis, and an opening provided in a part of the reflecting surface for causing light from the semiconductor light-emitting element to be incident upon the laser medium. The laser device is improved further by providing a polarizing plate and a light guide between the light-emitting element and the laser medium and by deviating the optical axis of excitation light from the central axis of the laser medium.

A laser apparatus has a phase regulator for regulating phase of output laser beam is provided, in which a full reflection portion of an output mirror is made partially reflective and a relative optical length thereof to a non-reflection portion of the output mirror is regulated by a relative thickness thereof. In one aspect of the invention, a coating provided on a center portion of an inner surface of an output mirror of a resonator comprises a partially reflective coating and a phase difference between laser beam portions passing through the center portion and a surrounding portion is regulated by a thin membrane having same refraction index as that of a matrix of the output mirror and provided between the matrix and a coating on either surface of the output mirror.
