In an apparatus for controlling an internal combustion engine mounted on a vehicle, it is configured to have a falling signal generator that generates a falling signal indicative of falling of the vehicle when the vehicle falls; an operation stopper that stops operation of the engine in response to the generated falling signal; and a suspender that suspends processing of the operation stopper to stop the operation of the engine until a predetermined time period elapses. With this, when the falling of the vehicle is not serious and the operator lifts the vehicle body within the predetermined time period, the operator can restart the vehicle to drive immediately after lifting the vehicle body.

Control apparatus for internal combustion engine

In an apparatus for controlling an internal combustion engine mounted on a vehicle, comprising an engine speed detector that detects speed of the engine, an ignition timing calculator that calculates an ignition timing of the engine based on at least the detected engine speed, a load detector that detects load in a compression stroke of the engine, and an ignition controller that controls the ignition timing to be the calculated timing, and controls the ignition timing to be a retarded timing than the calculated timing when the detected load is equal to or greater than a threshold value. With this, it becomes possible to avoid the unnecessary decrease of engine output which adversely affects driving feel of the operator, and effectively prevent the knocking and kickback from occurring.

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, includes: a crankshaft; a crank angle detection unit; a generator; and a control unit to which alternating voltage signals are input, that ascertains ignition timings based on crank signals, performs ignition control so as to spark the internal combustion engine at the ignition timings, performs polarity determination processing in which the control unit determines a polarity of the alternating voltage signal each predetermined cycle and determines a current polarity determination result, and performs reverse rotation detection processing in which the control unit obtains the current polarity determination result each time the crank signal is detected so that the control unit ascertains a polarity cycle of the alternating voltage signals and in which the control unit determines that the crankshaft is in reverse rotation and stops the ignition control.

A fuel injection control apparatus includes: an internal combustion engine; a fuel injection unit provided in the internal combustion engine; an intake state detection unit that detects an intake state value indicating an intake state of the internal combustion engine, and that outputs an intake state signal; and a control unit to which the intake state signal is input, that determines based on the intake state signal whether or not the internal combustion engine is on an intake stroke, and that controls the fuel injection unit so that an initial fuel injection is performed in order to start up the engine when the control unit determines that the engine is on an intake stroke.

Fuel injection control apparatus

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, includes: a fuel injection unit; an ignition unit; a crank angle detection unit; a fuel pump; a booster unit; an ignition discharge unit; and a control unit that controls the fuel injection unit, the ignition unit, and the fuel pump, that ascertains ignition timings based on crank signals output from the crank angle detection unit, and that performs a startup control sequence that is made up of fuel injection processing, voltage boosting processing, ignition processing, and fuel supply processing.

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, includes: a crankshaft; a crank angle detection unit that outputs a crank signal; a generator that rotates in synchronization with the rotation of the crankshaft, and that outputs alternating voltage signals with one-phase; and a control unit, to which the alternating voltage signals are input, that ascertains ignition timings based on the crank signals, performs ignition control so as to spark the internal combustion engine at the ignition timings, determines a polarity of the alternating voltage signal each time the crank signal is detected, ascertains a polarity cycle of the alternating voltage signals based on the determination result of the polarity, and determines that a failure has occurred in the generator when the polarity cycles do not continuously coincide multiple times with the polarity cycles at the time of forward rotation of the crankshaft.

The engine acceleration detection device compares a intake manifold pressure at a certain crankshaft angle with the intake manifold pressure at 720 degrees before this crankshaft angle. If the difference between these two pressures is a predetermined value or more and the former is higher than the latter, the engine acceleration detection device determines that the engine is in acceleration status. The acceleration of the engine is determined without using a throttle valve opening sensor.

Acceleration/deceleration detection device and method for four-cycle engines

A rotor is provided such that the rotor rotates with a crank shaft of an engine. A plurality of detection sections are formed on a rotor periphery at equal angle intervals. A particular detection section is used for detection of a reference crank angle. A pickup is provided near the rotor periphery. A crank angle detecting apparatus receives pulse signals from the pickup, and sequentially detects a detection section time. The detection section time is a time interval from the front end to the rear end of the detection section. The crank angle detecting apparatus also sequentially detects a time between each two adjacent detection sections (detection section distance time), which is a time from the rear end of one detection section to the front end of the next detection section. A reference angle detection signal, which indicates detection of the detection section dedicated for the reference angle, is generated when at least two ratio conditions are met. These ratio conditions are decided based on the detection section time and the detection section distance time.

The present invention provides an engine stoppage notification apparatus with which, due to its compatibility with and good correspondence to the intention of a driver to start off a vehicle and to stop and idle the vehicle, it is possible to anticipate the possibility of enhancement of product quality along with alleviation of the burden upon the driver. This engine stoppage notification apparatus notifies the driver that the engine is about to stop when the engine has satisfied certain predetermined stoppage permission conditions, and includes a notification device which, from when the stoppage permission conditions are satisfied until the engine stops, issues a notification of the engine stoppage.
