An organic light-emitting display device is provided that has prolonged service life, lowered wiring resistance that can lower power consumption, and that is easy to manufacture. In a first embodiment, a moisture capturing layer is provided between an upper electrode and a lower electrode. A second embodiment includes a metal substrate, an organic light-emitting element on the substrate and an upper transparent electrode connected to the substrate through a contact hole. In a third embodiment, a method is provided for forming a first organic compound including a light-emitting layer, heating the first organic compound in vacuo, and forming a second organic compound.

To provide an organic electroluminescent display device including an organic electroluminescent layer that can be easily fabricated under an atmosphere containing oxygen and which can achieve high efficiency. An organic electroluminescent display device includes a substrate, an organic electroluminescent layer, an upper electrode and a lower electrode sandwiching therein the organic electroluminescent layer, either one of the upper and lower electrodes being a transparent electrode, and the other being a reflecting electrode, and a charge transport layer disposed between the organic electroluminescent layer and the substrate. The charge transport layer is photo-cured by light with a wavelength longer than that of a near-ultraviolet light.

Organic electroluminescent display device

In a transflective liquid crystal display device including a transmission display portion and a reflection display portion, a dichroic ratio of a polarizing layer contained in a reflection region is increased to enhance display performance. The liquid crystal display device includes: the transmission display portion and the reflection display portion which are formed for each pixel; a reflective layer formed in the reflection display portion; a first substrate having a principal surface opposed to a liquid crystal layer; a second substrate opposed to the first substrate via the liquid crystal layer; and a polarizing layer formed above the reflective layer via an underlying layer thereof on the principal surface of the first substrate. The polarizing layer is made of chromonic liquid crystalline molecules, and an interface between the polarizing layer and the underlying layer has one of a siloxane structure and a silazane structure.

Liquid crystal display device and method of manufacturing the same

The present invention is intended to provide a top emission type organic light emitting display device which prevents the organic film from being oxidized during the formation of the upper transparent electrode and can emit light at a low voltage. The top emission type organic light emitting display device includes: a substrate; an organic light emitting layer; and upper and lower electrodes sandwiching the organic light emitting layer, where the lower electrode is arranged between the substrate and the organic light emitting layer, the upper electrode is arranged on the opposite side of the substrate with respect to the lower electrode, light emitted from the organic light emitting layer is taken out from the upper electrode side, and an organic layer which is mainly composed of an organic material having a heterocyclic group containing one or more nitrogen atoms, is included between the organic light emitting layer and the upper electrode.

Organic light emitting display device

An object of the present invention is to increase the dichroic ratio of the built-in polarizing layer in reflective regions so that the display performance improves in a semi-transmission type liquid crystal display device having a transmissive display portion and a reflective display portion. The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device having first and second substrates which face each other with a liquid crystal layer in between, where a transmissive region and a reflective region are formed in each pixel on the above described first substrate, as well as: a reflective layer formed in the above described reflective region on the above described first substrate; a polarizing layer formed on the above described first substrate on the liquid crystal layer side of the above described reflective layer from chromonic liquid crystal molecules; a pixel electrode formed on the above described first substrate on the liquid crystal layer side of the above described reflective layer and electrically connected to a source electrode of a thin film transistor; and a protective layer formed in the reflective region between the above described polarizing layer and the above described pixel electrode which makes contact with the above described polarizing layer.

Liquid crystal display device and manufacturing method for same

A scanning line, a signal line, a first current supply line, and a second current supply line are formed on a glass substrate, a first electrode is formed on the wiring layer comprising the above members, an organic layer comprising a hole transport layer, a light-emitting layer, an electron transport layer, and an electron injection layer is formed on the first electrode, a second electrode is formed as cathode on the electron injection layer, the first electrode as anode is connected to a plus terminal of a power source through the driving devices and the first current supply line, whereas the second electrode as cathode is connected to a minus terminal of the power source, and is connected to the second current supply line in the display region of each pixel, with a contact hole serving as a feeding point, whereby wiring resistance due to the second electrode is reduced, and variations in the brightness of a panel is reduced.

Organic light-emitting display device

It is an object of the present invention to provide an organic light-emitting display of high light-emitting efficiency. The organic light-emitting element comprising a board, upper electrode, lower electrode, a plurality of light-emitting units placed between the upper and lower electrodes, and a charge-generating layer placed between a plurality of the light-emitting units, wherein one of the light-emitting units has a layer for emitting monochromatic light and one of the light-emitting units has a layer for emitting polychromatic light, the former unit having an equivalent or lower light-emitting efficiency than the latter unit.

To prevent an n-channel thin-film transistor from being deteriorated by hot holes generated in a gate-negative pulse mode. A thin polysilicon filmis provided with a p-type semiconductor regionin contact with a channel region. The p-type semiconductor regionis electrically connected to nowhere except the channel region. Holes induced on the surface due to a gate-negative pulse are further supplied from the p-type semiconductor region. An electric field established by the gate-negative pulse is relaxed by the holes, fewer hot holes are injected into the gate oxide film, and the TFT characteristics are less deteriorated.

A scanning line, signal line, first current supply line, and second current supply line are formed on a glass substrate. A first electrode is formed thereon; and, an organic layer, including a hole transport layer, light-emitting layer, electron transport layer, and electron injection layer is formed on the first electrode. A second electrode is formed as a cathode on the electron injection layer. The first electrode, serving as an anode, is connected to a plus terminal of a power source through driving devices and first current supply line, whereas the second electrode is connected to a minus terminal of the power source and is connected to the second current supply line in the display region of each pixel, with a contact hole serving as a feeding point, whereby the wiring resistance of the second electrode is reduced, and variations in the brightness of the panel is reduced.

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes: one of a pair of substrates being transparent and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the pair of substrates; the one substrate including a plurality of scanning wirings, a plurality of signal wirings, a plurality of thin film semiconductor devices formed on intersections of the scanning wirings and the signal wirings, and a display electrode; and the other substrate including an opposed electrode. The apparatus further includes: first relay buses extended continuously over a width of said signal wirings, and second relay buses divided the width of signal wirings into a plurality of blocks; a relay circuit formed between the first and second relay buses for each of the blocks; a data latch read the display data in sequence through the second relay buses to latch the display data of one block amount; a memory circuit which reads out the display data of the one block amount simultaneously; a level shifter circuit which reads out a content of the memory circuit to change a logical voltage; and a D/A circuit which converts an output from the level shifter circuit into an analog voltage to drive the signal wirings.

Liquid crystal display apparatus

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes semiconductor elements placed at intersection points between scanning wires and signal wires. Each semiconductor element includes: a semiconductor layer having a channel region and a pair of semiconductor regions which sandwich the channel region and which are each made of a high-resistance region and a low-resistance region; a first electrode formed on the intrinsic semiconductor region with an insulating film interposed therebetween; and second and third electrodes connected to the low-resistance regions. Each scanning wire constitutes the first electrode of the corresponding one of the semiconductor elements. The first electrode has a first wiring formed on the insulating film and second wiring formed in direct contact with a side surface of the first wiring, part of the second wiring being overlaid on part of a high-resistance region with the insulating film interposed therebetween.

The recording electrodes and the control electrodes of an ink jet recording head are alternately arranged on a substrate. Ink in which coloring material is distributed in a solvent is supplied to the recording electrode so that the ink can flow in the direction of the length of the recording electrode. An ink circulation part is provided for collecting surplus ink from the point of the recording electrode from which ink is discharged. As a result, an ink jet recorder, which can produce a high definition image without shifting the ink impact position on the recording medium, can be produced.

Ink-jet recording head and ink-jet recorder

An ink jet recording head has a plurality of ink-discharge electrodes and control electrodes and an opposed electrode arranged at a fixed spacing and grounded. A pulse voltage with a reversed polarity is applied to the control electrodes in synchronization with the superimposition of the pulse voltage on a bias voltage applied to the ink-discharge electrode when the ink is discharged. As a result, an ink jet recording apparatus, which can decrease the pulse voltage needed to discharge the ink, is provided with a simple configuration.
