In a piping connection structure of a vehicle including: a throttle body connected to a power unit of the vehicle to adjust an intake air amount; a fuel injection device for injecting fuel to an intake passage including the throttle body; first pipings attached to the fuel injection device; and second pipings provided separately from the first pipings, and having end parts connected to the first pipings so as to intersect with the first pipings, a connection part between the first pipings and the second pipings has a long adjustment holes, which extend so as to allow adjustment of relative angles between the first pipings and the second pipings.

An intake air control system of a V-type internal combustion engine having cylinder axes formed in a V-shape with a crankshaft provided therebetween is provided. An operation input shaft driven by an operator's input and an operation input shaft turning angle sensor that detects a turning angle of the operation input shaft are also provided. A throttle body having a throttle valve is formed with an intake passage for each of the cylinders. The operation input shaft is located between valve shafts of an opposing pair of throttle valves that are located on opposing bank portions of the V-type internal combustion engine, when viewed from the direction of the crankshaft. The operation input shaft is disposed separately from the throttle valve shafts and the operation input shaft turning angle sensor is provided at a shaft end of the operation input shaft.

The throttle driving motor is located outside a region surrounded by the throttle bodies that are respectively connected to all of intake ports as viewed in plan.

An intake charge regulating apparatus for an engine includes a throttle body having a throttle bore formed therein for communicating with an intake port, and a throttle valve for controlling flow through the throttle bore. A throttle-driving mechanism includes an electric motor and a transmission mechanism for decelerating a driving force of the electric motor and for transmitting the driving force to the throttle valve. A camshaft sprocket is fixed to an end portion of a camshaft, which is included in a valve train for driving intake and exhaust valves in a cylinder head to open and close. The throttle-driving mechanism is arranged opposite a side where the camshaft sprocket is located in an axis direction of the crankshaft. An internal combustion engine includes a cylinder head having a plurality of intake ports; throttle devices including a plurality of respective intake passages equipped with throttle valves therein; a plurality of fuel injection valves for injecting fuel into the corresponding intake passages; a fuel pipe adapted to supply fuel to the fuel injection valves; and a pulsation damper connected to the fuel pipe to damp fuel pressure pulsation. In the engine, a connection pipe coupled to the pulsation damper is formed between a plurality of branch portions with respect a longitudinal direction of the fuel pipe, adapted to deliver fuel from the fuel pipe to the fuel injection valves and the connection pipe is disposed to at least partially overlap the fuel injection valve as viewed from the longitudinal direction of the fuel pipe.

An intake air control system of a V-type internal combustion engine is arranged in a V-shaped space defined between front and rear banks of the engine. The intake air control system includes front and rear throttle bodies having front and rear throttle valves thereon, and a plurality of electrically-operated actuators which drive the throttle valves. The electrically-operated actuators are arranged between the front and rear banks. The arrangement of the electrically-operated actuators prevents overheating thereof, and provides a storing space for disposing auxiliary equipment in a lower portion of the V-shaped space. An intake air control device is provided in which a valve shaft extends in the left and right direction of a vehicle body frame across an air intake path, and is rotatably supported by an air intake path forming body connected to an engine body, equalizing the distances from a center of the vehicle body frame in the left and right direction to both ends of the intake air control device when arranging the air intake path forming body at the center of the vehicle body frame in the left and right direction. An actuator, which applies a motive power to drive the valve shaft, is connected to one end of the valve shaft, and a throttle operating amount sensor for detecting the throttle operating amount by a vehicle operator is supported by the air intake path forming body and connected to the other end of the valve shaft.

A fuel routing structure for use in a vehicle having a V-type engine is provided. The structure has fewer parts, is compact, and facilitates ease of assembly and maintenance for a vehicle where fuel injection valves are attached to an intake manifold, which contains an intake passage communicating with intake ports of a pair of cylinder banks. Each fuel injection valve is attached to an upper part of the intake manifold, so that center lines of the fuel injection valves corresponding to both banks are crossed at an intersection over the intake manifold when a vehicle is viewed from the side. A fuel rail is provided with a fuel passage pipe, the axis of which is arranged in the vicinity of the intersection of the center lines of the fuel injection valves. The axis of the fuel passage pipe may be parallel to the crankshaft and may extend linearly and connected to all the fuel injection valves.

Fuel routing structure for a V-type engine

An internal combustion engine having cylinders capable of selectively resting during engine operation is capable of eliminating step increases in engine output when the number of operative cylinders is changed. The internal combustion engine includes a plurality of cylinders divided into two or more groups, at least some of the cylinders being restable. A throttle valve of each of the cylinders is independently operable on the basis of the group to which the cylinder belongs, and the number of resting cylinders is controlled according to the throttle grip opening. The throttle valve opening is different between the groups, except for the full opening condition and the full closure condition of the throttle valve, and an ECU is provided for opening the throttle valve of the next cylinder group before the throttle valve opening of the former cylinder group reaches the full opening condition.

In a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine having throttle valves to be opened and closed by electric motors, output control is enabled in various ways according to the state of usage of an object to be driven by the multi-cylinder internal combustion engine with a simple structure with the scope of application of shared components being expanded to reduce the cost. In addition, a throttle body assembly is downsized in the direction of the arrangement of the cylinders. A multi-cylinder internal combustion engine includes a predetermined number of cylinders, a throttle body assembly including the throttle bodies formed with intake-air channels and throttle valves. The respective throttle valves are opened and closed by the electric motors provided independently for each throttle valve. Air-intake ports of the first and fourth cylinders are formed so as to approach a center plane in the direction of the arrangement as they approach entrances.
