The present invention is concerned with an organic-inorganic composite graded material containing a composite material formed by chemically bonding an organic polymer compound and a metallic compound and having a component graded structure in which the content of the metallic compound continuously changes in the depth direction from the material surface, a process for the production of the above organic-inorganic composite graded material by forming a coating layer composed of a specific coating solution for forming the organic-inorganic composite film on an organic substrate and drying the coating layer under heat, a coating agent composed of the above organic-inorganic composite graded material for forming a coating film, and an article coated with the above coating agent.

Organic-inorganic composite graded material, method for preparation thereof and use thereof

A photocatalyst composite is provided which comprise a substrate having particles of a photocatalyst such as titanium oxide, adhered thereon via a less degradative adhesive such as a fluorinated polymer comprising a copolymer of a vinyl ester and/or vinyl ether and a fluoroolefin, or a silicon based polymer or cement. Furthermore, a process for producing the photocatalyst composite and a coating composition containing the photocatalyst composite are provided.

Photocatalyst composite and process for producing the same

A titanium dioxide film having at least photocatalytic activity, whose light linear transmittance corresponding to light having a wavelength of 550 nm is not less than 50 % and whose thickness is 0.1 to 5 &mgr;m or so, is formed on a transparent substrate constituted by a glass plate or the like. Preferably, a precoat film, which has optical transmissivity and is constituted by a SiO film having a thickness of 0.02 to 0.2 &mgr;m or so, is provided between the transparent substrate and the titanium dioxide film. Thereby, excellent photocatalytic action and optical transmissivity can be obtained. Moreover, members composing various structures such as a glass window, which are especially required to have optical transparency, can be further provided with photocatalytic activities.

Titanium dioxide photocatalyst

There is provided a concentration sensor for measurement of concentrations of one or plural target substances in a system, with a detection electrode of conductive diamond. The measuring method with the concentration sensor involves measuring the reaction potentials of plural target substances in a sample containing and determining the concentrations of the plural substances by use of the difference between the resulting reaction potentials of the respective substances. The measuring method can also determine the concentration of a single substance in a sample containing one kind of target substance.
