Reproduction apparatus and method for successively playing back

A disc apparatus includes a readout unit, an audio signal output unit, a memory, a switch, and a controller. The readout unit reads out data from a disc wherein the data includes at least digital audio data. The audio signal output unit produces an audio signal output in accordance with the digital audio data. The memory stores the digital audio data read from the disc by the readout unit. The switch switches the digital audio data supplied to the audio signal output unit between the digital audio data stored in the memory and the digital audio data currently being read by the readout unit. Furthermore, the controller controls the readout unit and the memory so that, prior to a playback start operation, the digital audio data of a first predetermined period from a beginning of at least one program is read out by the readout unit and stored in the memory; controls the switch so that, at a beginning of the playback start operation, the audio signal output unit produces the audio signal output based on the digital audio data stored in the memory; and controls the switch so that, a second predetermined period after the start operation, the audio signal output unit produces the audio signal output based on the digital audio data currently being read out by the readout unit.

Disc apparatus for selectively outputting data from a disc and a memory

Information reproduction apparatus having means to control maximum delay

A digital signal which is recorded on a recording medium with being encoded is duplicated to another recording medium without being decoded. An audio signal is recorded and/or reproduced using data recorded in a TOG of the recording medium. A first data signal (2-channel audio signal) is intermittently recorded on and/or reproduced from a first area of the recording medium, and a second data signal (other 2-channel audio signal) is intermittently recorded on and/or reproduced from a second area of the recording medium during a period in which the first data signal is not recorded or reproduced.

Record/reproduction apparatus for recording/reproducing multi-channel

In a method of recording digital information signals to form tracks on a magnetic tape, the samples of the signals to be recorded are divided into a plurality of odd sample groups and a plurality of even samples groups. The groups containing adjacent samples are disposed on differently-numbered regions of different tracks. Error correcting codeword may be recorded in a plurality of tracks. Errors in one region can be corrected or compensated by samples in different tracks or samples in differently-numbered regions.

Rotary head recording and playback apparatus and method

A magnetic recorder/reproducer converts two-channel analog signals into digital signals by a sample-and-hold/A-D converter circuit (3) and controls addresses in a memory circuit (4) by a memory address control circuit (5), to distribute the digital signals into odd sample groups and even sample groups per each channel for arraying the odd sample groups and the even sample groups of the same channel in alternate scanning intervals, thereby to write the same in the memory circuit so that the odd samples and the even samples of the same channel are arrayed in positions separated from each other along the direction of scanning by rotary heads (10, 11). The digital signals thus permutated are modulated by a modulation circuit (7), to be recorded in a magnetic tape by the rotary heads. The digital signals reproduced by the rotary heads are demodulated by a demodulation circuit (14), to be stored in a memory circuit (15). A memory address control circuit (16) controls addresses so as to permutate samples of the reproduced digital signals stored in the memory circuit to be in the original array thereof. The reproduced digital signals read from the memory circuit are converted into analog signals by a D-A converter (18), to be outputted through a low-pass filter (19).

Magnetic recorder/reproducer
