A brushless d.c. motor is equipped with a stator armature, which is composed of a stator yoke and at least one armature coil arranged on the stator yoke, and a 2p(p: a positive integer of 1 or more)-pole magnetic rotor facing the stator armature, rotatable relative to the stator armature and having alternating N and S poles. The motor can self-start by utilizing a cogging torque produced upon feeding a direct current to a position sensor. The stator yoke defines at such a point as permitting self-starting of the magnet rotor a cut-off portion of such a shape that ensures the self-starting of the magnet rotor and provides an ideal composite torque curve. The brushless d.c. motor enjoys easy assembly work, low manufacturing cost, compact size, good performance, good mass productivity, etc. It is suited particularly as a disk-type brushless motor or disk-type burshless fan motor.

Brushless d.c. motor

A direct current motor comprising a field magnet with 2np magnetic poles, magnetized to N and S poles with equal angular intervals, where n is an integer of 1 or more and p is an integer of 2 or more; a magnetic member for closing the magnetic circuit of the magnetic circuit of the magnetic poles of the field magnet; n(py.+-.1) armature coils disposed in such a manner that the angular intervals of the electrically conductive portions of the armature coils, contributing to the generation of torque in the armature coils, are substantially equal to the magnetic pole width of the field magnet, where y is an integer of 3 or more; a wave-winding-type armature on which the armature coils are disposed, overlapping on each other, with an equal pitch, the wave-winding-type armature being directed towards the field magnet within the magnetic circuit; electric power supply control device for commutating the commutator current np(py.+-.1) times or 2np(py.+-.1) times per one rotation of the armature coils; and a rotating shaft for rotatably supporting the wave-winding-type armature or the field magnet, the rotating shaft being rotatably supported by bearings mounted on an outer casing of the motor.

Direct current motor

A direct current motor comprises a field magnet having 2 mn magnetic poles magnetized with the same angular intervals as those of the magnetic poles N and S, where m is an integer of 1 or more, and n is an integer of 4 or more, a magnetic member for closing the magnetic circuit of the magnetic poles of the field magnet, an armature in which m(2n.+-.n) armature coils are arranged each magnetically with a phase angle of 360/(2n.+-.2) degrees, the armature being directed towards the magnetic poles in the magnetic circuit, electric power supply control means for performing the switching of an armature current mn(2n.+-.2) times per revolution of the armature with respect to the field magnet, and a rotating shaft for rotatably supporting the armature or the field magnet, the rotating shaft being supported by a bearing disposed in an outer casing of the direct current motor. In arrangement in which the armature coils correspond to the magnetic poles, the terminal of an armature coil which has a closest relationship to its corresponding magnetic pole with respect to a relationship of any desired armature coil to its corresponding magnetic pole, and the terminal of that desired armature coil are connected together to the electric power supply control means so that the armature coils are wound in the same direction.

A direct current motor comprising a field magnet provided with 2 mn magnetic poles which are magnetized with the same angular intervals as those of the magnetic poles N and S, where m is an integer of 1 or more, and n is an integer of 3 or more; a magnetic member for closing the magnetic circuit of the magnetic poles of the field magnet; an armature in which m(2n.+-.1) armature coils are arranged with an equal pitch, the armature being directed towards the magnetic poles in the magnetic circuit; electric power supply control device capable of performing the switching of armature current 2 mn (2n.+-.1) times per revolution of the armature; and a rotating shaft for rotatably supporting the armature and one of the magnetic poles, the rotating shaft supported by a bearing disposed in an outer casing of the direct current motor.

A direct current motor comprising a field magnet provided with 2n magnetic poles which are magnetized with the same angular intervals as those of the magnetic poles N and S, where n is an integer of 1 or more; a magnetic member for closing the magnetic circuit of the magnetic poles of the field magnet; a plurality of armature coils in such a manner that the angular intervals of the electrically conductive portions thereof, contributing to the generation of torque in the armature coils, are substantially equal to the magnetic pole width of the field magnet; electric power supply control device to which the terminals of the armature coils are connected; short-circuit members for short-circuiting the winding initiation terminals of predetermined armature coils and the winding end terminals of other predetermined armature coils through the electric power supply control device; an armature comprising armature coils in the first series and armature coils in the second series through which the short-circuit members and the plurality of armature coils are connected in parallel to the positive pole and negative pole of a DC power source, the armature positioned so as to face the field magnet; and a rotating shaft for rotatably supporting the armature or the filed magnet, the rotating shaft rotatably supported by bearings disposed on an outer casing of the direct current motor.

A direct current motor is provided with a field magnet having 4 mn alternating N and S poles (m being a positive integer of one or more and n being a positive integer of two or more) that are magnetized within segments of equi-angular width about the field magnet, a magnetic-material member for closing the magnetic path of the field magnet, and a rotatably mounted armature having m (2n-1) armature windings equally distributed thereabout in a non-superposed manner with respect to each other and in a face-to-face relationship with respect to the field magnet poles, each winding having an angular spacing between those conductor portions thereof that contribute to the generation of the torque that is equal to the angular width of the field magnet poles.

Direct current motor with non-superposed armature windings

A direct current motor is provided with a field magnet having l(2m+2n) alternating N and S poles (l and m being positive integers of one or more and n being a positive integer of two or more) that are magnetized within segments of equiangular width about the field magnet, a magnetic-material member for closing the magnetic path of the field magnet, and an armature having 2ln armature windings distributed thereon in a non-superposed manner with respect to each other and in a face-to-face relationship with respect to the field magnet poles, each winding having an angular spacing between those conductor portions thereof that contribute to the generation of the torque that is equal to the angular width of a field magnet pole.

A direct current motor is provided with a field magnet having l(2m+2n) alternating N and S poles (l and m being positive integers of one or more and n being a positive integer of two or more) that are magnetized within segments of equiangular width about the field magnet, a magnetic-material member for closing the magnetic path of the field magnet, and an armature having l(2n-1) armature windings distributed thereon in a non-superposed manner with respect to each other and in a face-to-face relationship with respect to the field magnet poles, each winding having an angular spacing between those conductor portions thereof that contribute to the generation of the torque that is equal to the angular width of a field magnet pole.

A direct current motor is provided with a field magnet having 4 mn alternating N and S poles (m being a positive integer of one or more and n being a positive integer of two or more) that are magnetized within segments of equi-angular width about the field magnet, a magnetic-material member for closing the magnetic path of the field magnet, and a rotatably mounted armature having m(2n+1) armature windings equally distributed thereabout in a non-superposed manner with respect to each other and in a face-to-face relationship with respect to the field magnet poles, each winding having an angular spacing between those conductor portions thereof that contribute to the generation of the torque that is equal to the angular width of the field magnet poles.

A direct current motor, having armature windings superposed on each other in double layers, is provided with a fixed field magnet having 2 mn poles (m being a positive integer of 1 or more, n a positive integer of 2 or more) magnetized alternately to N and S polarities in equal angular spaces, a magnetic material member for closing the magnetic path of the field magnet, rotating shaft supported by bearings provided in the housing of the motor, and an armature secured to the shaft for rotation in the magnetic path facing to the field magnet poles. A first series of m(2n-1) armature windings mounted on the armature are juxtaposed side by side at equal pitches, the angular spacing between the conductor portions of the windings, which contribute to generate torque, being equal to the angular width of the field magnet pole. A second series of m(2n-1) armature windings mounted on the armature are juxtaposed side by side at equal pitches, the angular spacing between the conductor portions of the windings of the second series, which contribute to generate torque, being equal to the angular width of the field magnet pole. The first series of armature windings and the second series of armature windings are superposed on each other and are disposed, with respect to each other, out of phase by 1/(2n-1) of the angular width of the field magnet pole.

Direct current motor with double layer armature windings

A direct current motor having armature windings which are superposed on each other in double layers. The motor includes a fixed field magnet having 2mn poles (m being a positive integer of 1 or more, n being a positive integer of 2 or more) which are magnetized alternately to N and S polarities in equal angular spaces, a magnetic material member for closing the magnetic path of the field magnet, a rotating shaft supported by bearings provided in the housing of motor, and an armature which is secured to the shaft for rotation in the magnetic path and facing the field magnet poles. A first series of m(2n+1) armature windings are mounted on the armature and are juxtaposed with respect to each other at equal pitches, the angular spacing between the conductor portions, which contribute to generate torque, of the armature winding being equal to the angular width of the field magnet pole. A second series of m(2n+1) armature windings are also mounted on the armature and are juxtaposed with respect to each other at equal pitches, the angular spacing between the conductor portions, which contribute to generate torque, of the armature winding of the second series also being equal to the angular width of the field magnet pole. The first series of the m(2n+1) armature windings and the second series of the m(2n+1) armature windings are superposed on each other and are disposed, with respect to each other, out of phase by 1/(2n-1) of the angular width of the field magnet pole.
