A relay device includes a relay processing unit that relays a downstream frame received by a first transceiver to a second transceiver, and relays an upstream frame received by the second transceiver to the first transceiver; and a control unit that follows upstream multiple access control performed by a station side device in a first line, for transmission of the upstream frame to be transmitted by the first transceiver to the station side device, and independently performs upstream multiple access control for reception of the upstream frame received by the second transceiver from a home side device in a second line. The control unit reports an amount of data that the home side device in the second line will be allowed to transmit, to the station side device in the first line before the data arrives at the second transceiver.

A bicycle cable disc brake is provided with a cam assembly that has improved efficiency during movement under high pressure. Basically, the cable disc brake has a cable housing, a pair of friction members and an actuated mechanism. The first friction member is movably coupled to the caliper housing between a release position and a braking position. The second caliper is also coupled to the caliper housing and arranged substantially parallel to the first friction member to form a rotor receiving slot therebetween. The actuated mechanism is movably coupled to the caliper housing to move the first friction member from the release position towards the second friction member to the braking position. The actuated mechanism has a pair of cam members movably arranged between an axially retracted position and an axially extended position with a guide member interconnecting the cam members during movement between the axial retracted position and the axially extended position. In the preferred embodiment, the guide member is a guide pin that extends from one of the cam members and is received in a bore of the other cam member.

Cable disc brake

A brake lever arm is mounted to a base member, with the base member fixed to a bicycle handlebar. The lever arm is pivotal about a pivot point on the base. The lever arm includes an adjusting mechanism that adjusts the position of the lever arm when the lever arm is in a brake dis-engaged position. The adjusting mechanism is slideable in grooves in the lever arm such that the adjusting mechanisms may be moved to positions that are differing distances away from the pivot point. The adjusting mechanism includes a contact member that engages a brake cable connected to the lever arm when the lever arm is moved from the brake disengaged position toward a brake engagement position. The position of the contact member with respect to the pivot point determines the effect movement of the lever arm has on the cable. In this manner, the adjusting mechanism adjusts the length of the stroke or travel of the lever arm from the brake disengaged position to the brake engagement position.

Brake lever stroke adjusting mechanism

A brake lever arm is mounted to a base member, with the base member fixed to a bicycle handlebar. The lever arm is pivotal about a pivot point on the base. The lever arm includes an adjusting mechanism that is slidable in grooves formed on the lever arm such that the adjusting mechanism may be selectively moved to a plurality of positions located at differing distances away from the pivot point. An adjusting screw extends through a portion of the base and, in one embodiment, contacts a portion of the adjusting mechanism. In another embodiment, the adjusting screw contacts a portion of the lever arm. Movement of the adjusting screw allows for positioning of the lever arm to define a brake dis-engagement position. The adjusting mechanism includes a contact member that is contactable with a brake cable connected to the lever arm. Depending on the adjustment of the adjusting screw and the adjusting mechanism, when the lever arm is located in the brake dis-engagement position, the cable does not contact the contact member. The cable contacts the contact member as the lever arm is moved from the brake dis-engagement position to a brake engagement position. The position of the contact arm with respect to the pivot point determines the amount of leverage of the lever arm effects on the cable.

A cable adjustment device changes the effective length or tension of a control cable which extends between an actuating mechanism and a device to be operated thereby. In the case of a bicycle, the cable adjustment device is coupled to a bicycle actuating mechanism such as a brake lever or a shifter to control a brake or a derailleur. The actuating mechanism has a base or stationary member and a movable member coupled to the base member for moving the control cable. In the preferred embodiment, the cable adjustment device is coupled to the base member. Specifically, a cable guide portion with an internal threaded bore is integrally formed with the base member. This bore threadedly receives an adjusting member which engages the outer casing of the control cable. A torsion spring is coupled between the adjusting member and the cable guide portion to overridably restrict rotational movement therebetween. Specifically, the adjusting member has one or more longitudinally extending channels which are selectively engaged by a nose portion of the torsion spring to control the rotational movement of the adjusting member.

Cable adjustment device

The braking device of the present invention is equipped with a resistance element which acts so that, when the brake device is operated by pulling a brake lever to a set operating position where the wheel braking force produced by brake shoes reaches a certain set value, a discretely increased force resists operation of the brake lever so that further operation of said brake lever is inhibited until a pulling force which is greater than the resistance force is thereafter applied to the brake lever. A setting mechanism may be provided for setting the particular position of the brake lever at which the resistance discretely increases

Braking device for bicycles

A bicycle brake device is disclosed for coupling onto either front or rear forks of a bicycle. The brake device is preferably has a pair of brake arms which are pivotally coupled to either the front or rear forks by a pair of mounting members. The mounting members are design to be installed on conventional mounting posts which can be attached to either a brake arch or directly to the fork. The brake arms have their pivot pins spaced upwardly and outwardly from the mounting posts brake arch or the fork to improve the braking force. Also, in a parallel push type of brake device, the position of the pivot pins increases the horizontal dimension of the linkage to reduce wobbling.

Brake device

A braking device with brake adjusting devices disclosed for maintaining the proper spacing between the brake pad and the rim of the bicycle wheel or the brake disc attached to the bicycle wheel. Each of the brake adjusting devices preferably includes a spacing element and a support member which is coupled to the brake device. Of course, the support member can be coupled directly to the friction pad via a resilient biasing portion or coupled to various parts of the braking device. The spacing element is preferably biased against the rim or brake disc so as to apply a constant force thereto for obtaining the proper pad spacing when the braking device is in its release position. If a support member is used, the support member can have an attachment portion which is coupled to the brake shoe or friction pad support, a retaining member supporting the spacing element and a biasing portion located between the attachment portion and the retaining portion. Preferably, the spacing element is a roller or ball. However, the spacing element can be a smooth non-rotatable element.

The invention relates to a brake actuation mechanism having first and second adjusting mechanism. The first adjusting mechanism includes a cam member that engages a portion of a lever member. The cam member includes a plurality of cam surfaces. Each of the cam surfaces is configured such that, when engaged with the lever member, defines a different brake disengagement position for the lever member. Each brake disengagement position corresponds to a corresponding position of brake shoes.
