An electronic acoustic apparatus includes a control operator, a storage medium, and a processor. The control operator is operable by a user. The storage medium stores a program. The processor is configured to adjust a predetermined control parameter of an audio signal in response to an operation of the control operator. The processor is also configured to determine that the control operator has been operated in a particular operation style different from a normal operation style that adjusts the predetermined control parameter. In response to the operation of the control operator in the particular operation style, the processor is also configured to issue an instruction to execute a predetermined function different from an adjustment of the predetermined control parameter.

Electronic acoustic apparatus and method for operating the same

Audio player, having many items of music content stored therein and having at least a function for reproducing any one of the items of music content stored therein, is instructed to select and reproduce music content, corresponding to a user-designated music piece, from among the items of music content. In response to user's designation of the music piece, the audio player selects, from among the many items of music content, music content corresponding to the designated music piece and reproduces the selected music content. With such arrangements, a user is allowed to appropriately and readily set a performance environment suited for the desired music piece, by using the audio player to actually listen to and check the content of the music piece for which a performance environment is to be set.

Electronic musical instrument and storage medium

An assistive music playing apparatus plays a music piece with musically acceptable notes even when the player inputs musically unacceptable notes. The apparatus provides a chord progression pattern, and comprises a note conversion device. A chord progression pattern defines a series of chords, which are presented one after another in time for a music progression. As the player plays music, inputting potentially unacceptable notes, the inputted notes will be converted to musically acceptable notes with reference to the currently presented chord in the chord progression. The note conversion rules are prepared different for a melody note range, a chord note range and a bass note range. Overlap of converted notes are avoided. Depending on the conditions of the player's note input, i.e., whether the melody is ascending or descending, or the chord is played in a block chord or in an arpeggio, the conversion rules may be selected to generate notes which fit the designated chord, even including non-basic notes or tension notes.

Assistive apparatus and computer-readable medium storing computer program for playing music

An automatic performance apparatus comprises a storage device that stores performance data and accompaniment data having a plurality of sections, a detector that detects a specific note in the performance data, a reproduction device that simultaneously reproduces the performance data and the accompaniment pattern data, and a controller that controls the reproduction device to change the section at a point of the detected specific note. A musical performance that is rich in variations can be performed easily with simple automatic performance data.
