A sheet conveying device includes a conveying roller configured to convey a sheet and a plurality of driven rotating units. The conveying roller includes a plurality of roller portions disposed at positions opposite to the driven rotating units. Each of the roller portions has three or more annular grooves arranged side by side. Each of the driven rotating units includes three or more driven rotating bodies that are disposed at positions opposite to the annular grooves, respectively. A plurality of convex portions and a plurality of concave portions are alternately provided on an outer edge of each of the driven rotating bodies. The driven rotating bodies include two first rotating bodies positioned at both ends and one or more second rotating bodies located between the first rotating bodies and having an outer diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the first rotating bodies.

A curl eliminating device includes a decurl roller pair including a first roller and a second roller pressed to contact with an outer circumference surface of the first roller so as to correct curl of a recording medium, a cleaning member for cleaning the second roller, and a pressure contact mechanism. The first roller is an elastic roller including an elastic layer formed on the outer circumference surface and contacts with a non-image formed side of the recording medium. The second roller is a roller having a smaller diameter than the first roller and higher hardness than the first roller, and contacts with an image formed side of the recording medium. The pressure contact mechanism presses the cleaning member to contact with an outer circumference surface of the second roller from the side opposite to the first roller.

Curl eliminating device for recording medium and image forming apparatus including the same

A conveyor device is mounted on an image forming apparatus having an image forming section. The conveyor device has: a first conveyance path for conveying the sheet after an image is formed on a side of a sheet by the image forming section; a reverse conveyance path branched from the first conveyance path; a second conveyance path branched from the reverse conveyance path and for conveying the sheet back to the image forming section. The conveyor device includes a reversing section and a decurling section that are disposed on the reverse conveyance path. The reversing section reverses a conveyance direction of the sheet fed into the reverse conveyance path so as to feed the sheet into the second conveyance path. The decurling section applies decurling by urging the sheet in a direction of forming a convex curl with a side opposite to the image-formed side facing outward.

A decurler is operable to remove curl from a recording medium and includes a first roller, a second roller, a casing, a roller drive section, a casing rotary drive section, a housing, and a pair of cam members. The casing includes first and second supporting portions rotatably supporting the first and second rollers, respectively, with the first and second rollers pressed into engagement against each other movably away from each other. Each of the pair of cam members is mounted to the casing rotatably about a rotational axis of the casing independently of the casing and includes a circular hole. The circular hole in the cam member includes first to third recesses formed at circumferentially different portions of an inner periphery thereof so that an outer periphery of the first supporting portion is engageable with the first to third different recesses depending upon the rotation of the casing.

An image forming apparatus includes a filter and an exhaust duct. The filter filters and ejects an air. The exhaust duct flows and ejects the air to the filter. The exhaust duct also includes a plurality of partition plates alternately arranged along an exhaust direction on one side inner face and another side inner face facing to each other. The plurality of the partition plates has the partition plate formed so as to incline in an opposite direction to the exhaust direction.

A sheet feeding device for a document feeding apparatus includes: a sheet containing section; a lift plate for lifting sheets stacked in the sheet containing section between a sheet feeding position and a sheet loading position; a sheet feeding section for separating and feeding the sheets in the sheet feeding position one after another; and a lifting mechanism for lifting up and down the lift plate, the lifting mechanism including: a biasing member for biasing the lift plate toward the sheet feeding section; a cam, having an outer peripheral surface with a cam curve, coupled with a driving force source and being rotated thereby; and an operating lever so provided independently of and between the lift plate and the cam as to abut the outer peripheral surface of the cam and to simultaneously press the lift plate against a biasing force of the biasing member, thereby to change a posture of the lift plate between the sheet feeding position and the sheet loading position.

A sheet transport mechanism includes a pair of transport rollers and a roller pressing mechanism. The roller pressing mechanism includes one pair of first levers, one pair of second levers, and an elastic member. The one pair of first levers are supported to swing around a first swing shaft. A rotary shaft of a second roller of the pair of transport rollers is rotatably supported by a bearing aperture formed at substantially a center of the first lever. In addition, the one pair of second levers are supported to swing around the second swing shaft. Both ends of the elastic member are connected to tip ends of the second levers. The end of each second lever rotates around the second swing shaft, and presses the first lever toward the first roller of the pair of transport rollers.
