A method of assembling a belt conveyance apparatus having an endless belt, a plurality of rollers, a frame, a bearing holder, an urging member, a slider, and a driving gear includes the steps of: in a state without the driving gear mounted to the frame, arranging the slider in a disengaged position; attaching the bearing holder and the urging member to the frame; moving the slider in an engaged position so that it engages with the bearing holder; and attaching the driving gear to the frame so that it meshes with the slider arranged in the engaged position.

A belt conveying device includes a correction mechanism, a belt cleaning unit, a roller retaining member, a cleaning support member, and a posture maintaining unit. When a belt is meandering, the correction mechanism allows one end side of a meandering correction roller in an axial direction to move in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction, so as to correct meandering of the belt. The posture maintaining unit connects the roller retaining member and the cleaning support member, so as to maintain posture of the belt cleaning unit with respect to the meandering correction roller.

A belt unit includes a belt that is endless, a plurality of stretching rollers, a pair of side frames and one or more shafts. The shafts each have formed therein a first engagement groove that engages with a first holding jig. The stretching rollers each have formed therein a second engagement groove that engages with a second holding jig. The conveying guide is provided in a joining section and guides a sheet to a conveying roller pair along a main conveying path. The conveying guide has a convex guide part and planer guide parts. The convex guide is provided at a center portion and projects toward the sheet member. The planer guide parts are provided on both sides of the convex guide part.
