An electric wire with a terminal described herein includes a shielded electric wireand an inner conductive member. The shielded electric wireincludes a covered wireincluding a core wirethrough which a signal for communication is transmitted and an insulation coverthat has insulation property and covers the core wire, a shielding portionhaving electric conductive property and covering an outer periphery of the covered wire, and a sheathcovering an outer periphery of the shielding portion. The inner conductive memberis connected to the covered wire. The covered wirehas an end portion close to the inner conductive memberand the end portion is an uncovered portionthat is not covered with the sheathand the shielding portion. The uncovered portionis covered with an impedance adjustment memberthat has electric conductive property.

A shield terminal is provided with a pair of female inner conductors including box-shaped connecting portions into which tabs of male inner conductors are inserted, a female dielectric configured by uniting a first member and a second member made of a material having a lower dielectric constant than the first member, the pair of female inner conductors being accommodated in the female dielectric while being arranged in parallel, and a front separation wall portion formed in the second member and disposed to partition between a pair of the box-shaped connecting portions. Since the female dielectric is divided into the first member and the second member and the front separation wall portion is formed in the second member having a lower dielectric constant, a material cost can be reduced as compared to the case where the both members are made of a material having a low dielectric constant.

Shield terminal including structures having different dielectric constants

A shielded connector includes a dielectric module () having an L-shaped terminal fitting () attached to a dielectric () and an outer conductor () that houses the dielectric module (). The outer conductor () has a housing () with a first opening () at a front, a second opening () at a rear of a lower surface, and an insertion port () at a rear end communicating with the second opening (). A lid () is continuous with an edge of the insertion port () and is displaced from an open position where the insertion port () is opened to allow insertion of the dielectric module () into the module housing () to a closed position where the insertion port () is closed. With the lid () closed, an outer plate () on the lid () covers the holding portion () on the module housing () to prevent accidental release.

A shield terminal () includes inner conductors () having tabs () projecting forward from bodies (), a dielectric () formed with conductor accommodation chambers () inside and configured to hold the inner conductors () with the bodies () accommodated in the conductor accommodation chambers (), an outer conductor () for surrounding the dielectric () and the tabs (), and walls (and) constituting the conductor accommodation chambers () and formed with air chambers (to). Focusing on the fact that air has a lower dielectric constant than synthetic resin, the air chambers (to) are formed in the walls (and) constituting the conductor accommodation chambers (). This enables an impedance to be enhanced even if the dielectric () is made of a material having high rigidity.

Focusing on the fact that air has a lower dielectric constant than synthetic resin, the air chambers (and) are formed in the wall portions () constituting the conductor accommodation chambers (). This enables an impedance to be enhanced even if the dielectric () is made of a material having high rigidity.
