A stator of a rotating armature is provided which has: a stator core comprising laminated electromagnetic steel plates, the stator core including a plurality of teeth and slots formed on an inner periphery thereof; a first insulator and a second insulator inserted in the stator core; and windings wound around the teeth, wherein the first insulator includes a first comb-like engagement portion placed in the slots, the second insulator includes a second comb-like engagement portion placed in the slots, the first comb-like engagement portion includes a first tapered shape formed on a first distal end portion thereof, the second comb-like engagement portion includes a second tapered shape and a third tapered shape formed each on either side of a second distal end portion thereof in a radial direction of the stator core, and the first end portion and second distal end portion overlap with each other in the radial direction.

An event timer device having a plurality of memory counters each for memorizing the duration of a respective event. A selecting circuit selects one of the memory counters corresponding to a selected event having a predetermined duration for operating the selected memory counter to count down the memorized duration of the selected event. A display displays the remaining time of the selected event. The event counter further includes an alarm for generating an alarm signal at the end of the selected event.

Timer device

A liquid crystal display device comprised of a liquid crystal panel unit having first and second polarizing plates disposed on opposite sides thereof. The polarizing plates have respective polarizing axes having relative orientations differing by 90.degree.. One of the polarizing plates has a minor region having a polarizing axis oriented in parallel with that of the other of the polarizing plates. The liquid crystal panel unit has disposed thereon an electrode in registration with the minor region of the polarizing plate and which receives in use an electrical potential for independently controlling the light transmissive properties of The portion of the stacked combination of the liquid crystal panel unit and the first and second polarizing plates that is in registration with the minor region.

Display device

An electronic stopwatch including a time signal generator for generating a repetitive time signal, and a primary counting circuit for counting the time signal and for developing a count representing time in a timekeeping mode of operation. A secondary counting circuit receives the repetitive time signal during an interval to be measured, and develops a count representative of the length of the interval of time during which the time signal was applied thereto. The secondary counting circuit operates in a stopwatch mode of operation. A display selectively displays a time represented by the count of the primary counting circuit or the count of the secondary counting circuit in order to display either present time or a time interval measured in the stopwatch mode. An alarm is connected to receive the repetitive time signal applied to the secondary counting circuit and generates an alarm signal after the repetitive time signal has been applied thereto for a predetermined period of time. Therefore, in the stop watch mode an audible alarm indicates when an interval of time of a predetermined length has occurred and does not require a user of the stopwatch to visually watch the display in order to know when that predetermined interval of time has elapsed.

Electronic stop watch

A digital electronic watch has a time display section for displaying in digital form the time in minutes and hours and a remaining-time display section for displaying the time remaining within one of several different preselected time periods. The remaining-time display section includes a series of liquid crystal panels capable of being turned ON and OFF, and an electric circuit is provided for sequentially energizing or deenergizing the panels at predetermined time intervals to progressively turn ON or OFF the liquid crystal panels whereby the panels collectively provide a shining or brightness indication of the time remaining within the selected time period. A manual switch is provided to manually set the desired time period whose remaining duration is to be displayed and an audible alarm signal is emitted in response to the expiration of a predetermined portion of the selected time period.
