A power transmission apparatus with a centrifugal pendulum damper is realized, which can effectively suppress torque fluctuation and vibration noise of a vehicle while avoiding size increase of a centrifugal pendulum damper and deterioration of reliability of the centrifugal pendulum damper by high-speed rotation. A power transmission apparatus with a centrifugal pendulum damper includes: a centrifugal pendulum damper coupled to an input shaft through a speed-increasing mechanism configured to increase speed of rotation of the input shaft; and an engagement/disengagement mechanism capable of realizing and cutting off power transmission from the input shaft to the centrifugal pendulum damper.

Arrangement for mounting occupant protection device

A trunk panel comprises a bottom portion, a first standing wall portion, and a second standing wall portion. A protrusion portion is provided at a rear end portion of the bottom portion and the second standing wall portion to protrude upward. This protrusion portion is spaced apart from the first standing wall portion such that a passage is formed between the protrusion portion and the first standing wall portion, wherein the passage is configured to allow water to flow down from a portion of the bottom portion which is located forward of the protrusion portion toward a rear end portion of the bottom portion and the second standing wall portion. Thereby, any bad influences of rainwater or the like, which may be brought to various kinds of members around or arranged below a rear lamp, can be properly restrained.

A knee bolster comprises a curved arm projecting rearward from its one end portion and extending downward in a side view, the other end portion of which is configured as a free end, an inside arm provided inside the curved arm and interconnecting an upper portion and a lower portion of the curved arm, and an impact absorbing member arranged at the other end portion of the curved arm so as to be deformable when the curved arm is deformed by receiving an impact load so that the impact absorbing member is caught between the curved arm deformed and a vehicle-body-side member attached to a vehicle-body member. Accordingly, a load from a knee of a passenger moving forward in a vehicle collision can be received surely and the collision impact can be absorbed properly, thereby protecting the passenger's knee effectively, avoiding improper interference with any surrounding components.

A pair of right-and-left center pillars, a pair of right-and-left roof side rails, and an inflator provided on the inside, in a vehicle width direction, of the roof side rails and capable of supplying a gas pressure to an airbag are provided. A roof reinforcing member which extends in the vehicle width direction over respective upper end portions of the center pillars or respective nearby portions to upper ends of the center pillars is provided, which includes a front concave portion and a rear concave portion which are concaved downward respectively. The inflator is arranged such that at least a portion of the inflator overlaps with the roof reinforcing member, and a depth of the rear concave portion overlapping with the inflator is shallower than that of the front concave portion positioned nearer the center pillars.

An instrument panel which is supported at a cowl panel at a front-side portion thereof is provided. The cowl panel includes an upper face wall which faces to a windshield from below, a bending portion which is formed at a rear end of the upper face wall and bendable in a vehicle collision, and a rear face wall which extends downward from the bending portion and has a lower portion connecting to a dash panel. The instrument panel includes a first restriction portion to restrict a downward move of the instrument panel by contacting the upper face wall of the cowl member, and a second restriction portion to restrict an upward move of the instrument panel by said rear face wall of the cowl member at a lower portion of the front-side portion thereof.

A pedestrian protection device for a vehicle is provided at a vehicle-body front portion which comprises an engine room, a cowl box provided at an upper portion of a dash panel and extending in a vehicle width direction, and an engine hood pivotally supported at the vehicle body via a first hinge provided at a rear end portion so as to cover over the engine room. An engine-hood guide mechanism guides the engine hood upwardly and rearwardly so as to cover at least part of the cowl box when a collision of a pedestrian against a front bumper face is detected or predicted, and lowers the engine hood downwardly when a load acting on the engine hood exceeds a specified load.

Pedestrian protection device for vehicle

A slide door is provided to be movable between a closed position to cover a side opening formed at a vehicle-body side face and an open position. The slide door is configured to move outward and subsequently slide rearward along a rear vehicle-body outer face when the slide door moves from the closed position to the open position. There is provided a detection sensor to detect a foreign matter in coming into a gap from a vehicle-compartment inside. A drive of the slide door is stopped in case the detection sensor detects the foreign matter in coming into the gap when the slide door moves toward the open position. Thereby, any foreign matter can be prevented from being pinched in the gap formed between the slide door and the rear edge portion of the side opening.
