A fan shroud includes a bell mouth portion and a rectangular portion. The bell mouth portion includes a circular wall that defines a discharge port and accommodates a propeller fan. The rectangular portion defines a suction port and includes a close wall close to the circular wall, and a farther wall farther from the circular wall than the close wall is from. The close wall includes a closest portion closest to the circular wall in the close wall, and a pair of connection portions connected to the farther wall. The closest wall is between the pair of connection portions. The fan shroud includes an opening portion extending through the rectangular portion from inside to outside of the rectangular portion. At least one of the pair of connection portions includes the opening portion, and the closest portion does not include the opening portion.

Fan shroud

A fan shroud, in which air flows from a suction port to an outlet port, includes: a bell mouth part having a circular wall, the outlet port being formed by the bell mouth part; and a rectangle part having a proximity wall located adjacent to the circular wall and a distal wall distant from the circular wall than the proximity wall, the suction port being formed by the rectangle part. The proximity wall has a most close area that is most close to the circular wall. The circular wall has an extended wall part extended in an axial direction of a propeller fan than a residual portion of the circular wall. The extended wall part is provided along a rotational direction of the propeller fan from a position opposing the most close area.

A heat exchange module has a restriction protrusion that is provided to protrude between a blade of a cooling fan and a core portion of a heat exchanger and that restricts the blade from approaching the core portion more than a predetermined position. In a state where one side of an outline of a rectangular shaped fan shroud is disposed so as to face an installation surface, the restriction protrusion is provided in a position where the amount of water reaching the cooling fan through the heat exchanger becomes greater than the amount of water at position just below a rotation axis of the cooling fan in a case where at least a portion of the fan shroud is submerged in water.

Heat exchange module

An air-blowing device has a blower fan that is an axial fan located on a downstream side of a heat exchanger in an airflow direction and supplies air to the heat exchanger and a shroud that supports the blower fan and forms an air passage extending from the heat exchanger to the blower fan. At least one side of a periphery of the heat exchanger is arranged to overlap with an outermost peripheral portion of the blower fan that is outermost in a radial direction of the blower fan when viewed in the airflow direction. The shroud has an air-introduction part that is (i) disposed, in a portion in which the ring part and the connection part connect to each other, on a surface of the connection part facing the heat exchanger and (ii) formed concentrically to be centered at a rotational axis of the blower fan. A part of the air-introduction part protrudes outwardly from a periphery of the connection part in the radial direction of the blower fan when viewed in the airflow direction. A protruding part is provided in the connection part on a boundary between the air-introduction part and a portion other than the air-introduction part.

Air-blowing device

A blower fan includes a plurality of blades radially extending from a boss provided at a rotary center and spaced apart from each other in the rotational direction, and a ring portion connecting outer peripheral ends of the blades in a ring shape. A radially outer end part at an end on an air-flow upstream side of the ring portion is positioned outward in a radial direction of a rotary shaft in the blower fan, as toward the air-flow upstream side. Thus, the blower can prevent the backflow air from being swirled, thereby reducing noise.

Blower

A blower fan includes a plurality of blades radially extending from a boss provided at the rotary center and spaced apart from each other in the rotational direction, and a ring portion connecting outer peripheral ends of the blades in a ring shape. An inner peripheral wall surface of an end part on an air-flow downstream side of a cylindrical portion is disposed on the outside in a radial direction of the rotary shaft in the blower fan, with respect to an end part on the air-flow downstream side of the ring portion. The end part on the air-flow downstream side of the cylindrical portion is positioned outward in the radial direction of the rotary shaft, as toward the air-flow downstream side. Thus, the blower can prevent the backflow air from being swirled, thereby reducing noise.

A core plate of a header tank of a heat exchanger has an annular housing groove portion housing a tip part of a tank body and a seal component. The seal component is housed in a housing space formed by the housing groove portion and the tip part of the tank body. The housing groove portion has a bottom wall part which supports the seal component together with the tip part of the tank body, and an outer wall part located at an outer periphery side of the bottom wall part. The outer wall part has at least one discharge part through which liquid is discharged to outside from a clearance between a side surface of the tank body opposing the outer wall part and a lower side of the outer wall part in a stacking direction of tubes.

Heat exchanger

A fan has a plurality of blades extending in a radial direction with respect to a rotation axis and a ring portion disposed on radial outside edges of the blades. Further, the fan has a first connecting wall and a second connecting wall. The first connecting wall extending from the ring portion to a portion of the radial outside edge of each blade, the portion protruding from the ring portion toward an upstream position with respect to an air flow direction. The second connecting wall has a generally triangular shape. The second connecting wall continuously extends from the first connecting wall and connects to the ring portion on a leading side of the first connecting wall with respect to a rotation direction of the blade. The fan is for example housed in a shroud, thereby to construct a blower unit.

Electric fan for vehicle use

Front edges of blades are so constituted as to be deviated toward the upstream side in the air stream beyond an axial end surface , as viewed from a direction at right angles to the axial direction of a boss and the blades on the root side thereof are continuous to the axial end surface through smoothly curved surfaces This enables the air to flow from the side of the axial end surface toward the root side of the blades . Due to the air flowing from the side of the axial end surface to the root side of the blades therefore, the resistance decreases between the air and the surfaces of the blades on the root side, making it possible to suppress the occurrence of stalling on the root side of the blades The air on the front side of the boss is effectively guided toward the outer direction (toward the blades ), preventing a drop in the flow rate and in the fan efficiency of a blower

Axial fan for vehicles

A vehicle cooling apparatus having a simple construction that enables the size of a cooling fan electric motor to be reduced without the need to increase the number of batteries provided for driving the motor. The cooling fan provides necessary cooling for an engine radiator and an air-conditioning system condenser by driving the motor at an input power lower than its rated power by a predetermined amount until the temperature of the engine cooling water reaches a predetermined temperature. If the water temperature rises above the predetermined temperature, the electric motor input power is increased to a level greater than its rated input power for a predetermined time period. As a result, cooling capacity can be increased and the water temperature can be lowered with a smaller motor when the water temperature has become abnormally high. Because the electric motor is normally driven at an input power lower than its rated input power, the life of the electric motor is increased.

Vehicle cooling system with system motor control apparatus

A vehicle cooling system including a motor control apparatus that controls operation of a system motor when a cooling fan driven by the motor locks due to foreign matter interference or freezing. When motor input current is detected to be overcurrent, the controller limits the current flow. When current flowing to the electric motor is detected to be overcurrent and ambient air temperature is at or above a predetermined temperature, the controller stops energization of the motor. Thus, when the cooling fan freezes and locks, energization of the motor is maintained until ambient air temperature reaches or exceeds the predetermined temperature. Therefore, when the frozen-locked state is eliminated due to a subsequent temperature rise, an ordinary operating state can again be obtained without the controller subsequently detecting surge current, generated as a result of the motor being re-started from a fully stopped state, as overcurrent and therefore incorrectly stopping motor energization. Additionally, when locking occurs due to foreign matter interfering with fan rotation, an overcurrent state is detected even when ambient air temperature is at or above the predetermined temperature, and motor energization is immediately stopped.

Vehicle cooling system with electric motor overcurrent inhibiting control

A heat exchanging system includes two cooling fans for cooling heat exchanging medium of a heat exchanger, and a control device for controlling rotational speeds of the cooling fans. The control device is attached to an outer surface of a fan shroud so that radiation fins of the control device is disposed inside the fan shroud. Further, the radiation fins of the control device is disposed between two fan accommodating portions each having a cylindrical shape. That is, the control device is disposed in a comparatively large space formed by two fan accommodating portions. Therefore, the control device can be readily attached to the fan shroud on a vehicle, and the size of the radiation fins can be made larger. Thus, the heat exchanging system cools the control device sufficiently while improving ventilation performance of the cooling fans.

The present invention relates to a fan having a plurality of equiangularly spaced, radially extending blades. The spacing provided between adjacent blades is substantially constant along the entire radial length of the blade for increasing a blowing efficiency, while also allowing a mold separation operation along the axial direction during the formation of the fan using a mold. In a case where the blade is a sweep-forward blade, the number of the blades is seven or more and has a sweep-forward angle of the blades between 35 to 45 degrees. Finally, in case where an electric motor for rotating the fan is supported by stays, the number of stay member and the number of blades, which are not evenly dividable by each other, should satisfy a relationship of 2,000&lt;x.times.y.times.Nf/60, where N.sub.f is a rotational speed of the fan.

Blower device

A blower comprising an axial-flow fan covered by a cylindrical shroud and a motor for driving the fan. The motor is supported by radially extending stays at the central region of the fan on the suction side of the fan. The stays are integrally formed with a central support for the motor and an outer cylindrical shroud covering the fan. Each of the stays is bent and subdivided into an outer portion near the shroud and an inner portion near the support ring. The outer portion extends along a radial line about the axis of the fan, and the inner portion extends at an inclination to a radial line about the axis of the fan so as to reduce noise induced when air passes through the stays and the fan. The blower can also include a protection net comprising annular ribs circumferentially interconnecting the adjacent stays. Each of the annular ribs has a streamlined cross-sectional shape. The center line of the inner annular ribs is arranged in parallel to the axis of the fan, and the center line of the outer annular ribs is arranged at an inclination to the axis of the fan.
